I called in my order and was informed of a 30-minute wait. Despite the packed restaurant, the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. I absolutely love Sam's Deli. Prices are a bit high, but so is everything these days. I will gladly pay these prices because the quality of the food sold here is awesome! This is one of the few places that still offers customer service with personalized care and a smile! Can't say anything bad about my visits or purchases from Sam's!

Well everybody already knows about this place. A really authentic deli. Came on a spring Saturday and everyone was out and it was crowded. But they moved through the people and made the sandwiches pretty quickly must have been 10 people working. The sandwich was excellent

I love Lori the manager she’s amazing greets everyone so amazingly I just wanna give her so many hugs haha. And the food is so good I feel like Fresno has a part of Italy here. And they have cooking classes on how to make some Italian dishes. Anyways came by here to give Lori a hug and took some pizza’s home to bake and they are delicious!!!! And I love the wine selection. This place deserves 1,0000000 stars. All I gotta say is thank you!
After more than 2,200 positive Google reviews, I doubt I have anything unique to add. In sum, Sam’s Italian Deli and Market is a wonderful food oasis in the heart of Central Fresno. Weekday lunchtime is busy with customers ordering deli sandwiches and pulling prepared salads from the refrigerated section. I ordered a pastrami with everything and a salami and provolone on a baguette with mayo and nothing else. Both sandwiches were delicious. I’ve shopped here previously to pick up a nice bottle of wine. I’d like to return again and shop the desserts. The fresh cannoli and boxes of Italian cookies look so very good to me.

Talk about a time warp back into the day when these types of deli's were the norm and so glad on my trip to Fresno I found Sam's! This place has everything you need from a deli from a wide range of cold cuts, cheeses, salads, cookies, candies, wine , olive oil and much more but what brought me here were the sandwiches. These gigantic sandwiches a large one can feed two and they don't skimp on portions. I got the Sam's Special which comes on an 8-inch white sesame seed roll - there's other bread choices - loaded with ham, mortadella, turkey breast, dry salami and Jack cheese. I got it with everything: tomato's, lettuce, mayo, mustard, wax peppers, dill pickles, red onions, a red wine vinegar and EVOO. Plus I added a pasta salad! The crusty bread was soft on the inside and it packed a flavorful punch. Service was good and after less than five minutes I got my sandwich and was out the door. Like I said the ambiance was a try old school Italian deli. We had a place like this back in my hometown called Borrachini's that shutdown after Covid but so glad places like this still exist. If I'm ever back in Fresno I'll hit them up again for sure.

Their sandwiches are a Fresno classic! They have loads of fresh sides, baked bread, take home meals, frozen sauce, pasta and way more! The Sam's special on their homemade focaccia is phenomenal! Not to mention their sides! You take a number and once you are called, someone at the counter will build your sandwich. After that you pay at the end of the counter and wait for your name to be called.
