“We were 1st timers. I ordered the green enchilada plate. My husband ordered carne asada fries, and my sister ordered the carne asada torta which we did not get a picture of. My plate was delish. There was a good amount of chicken in my enchiladas. The beans and rice were yummy. The carne asada fries were equally as good. My sister said the torta tasted good but there was hardly any meat and beans or topping on her torta. We'd definitely go back. I'd gave it 4 starts because of the torta otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.“

“We stumbled upon Riveras after completion of a swim meet. Not being from this area (we are from Edmonton Canada) we decided to take a chance. So glad we did. 2 hungry teenage boys with us we filled up on various tacos and chips and guacamole. Everything was beyond delicious and filling. I have been craving fish tacos since we hit the border. I was not disappointed! So yummy. Service was fast and friendly and price was great. Definitely make your way to Riveras Fresh Tacos. We be heading there again before we head back north of the border :)“

Ponchos Tacos serves up a variety of dishes that are affordable and, most importantly, tasty.

The Food:
You can get a wide range of meals, from the usual tacos and burritos to less common mulitas and vampiros. I've tried a lot of their different options, and they are all solid, but will focus this review on my latest order: al pastor and carnitas tacos.

Both had a fair amount of meat and were properly seasoned, with tortillas that were firm enough to keep things together but soft enough to enjoy. Were they the best tacos I've ever had? No, but I enjoyed them.

The Atmosphere:
It's a smallish medium-sized establishment with a mix of comfortable booth seating and tables. Everything is relatively clean and organized, though a bit spartan -- don't expect anything fancy.

The Location:
Ponchos has a State College Boulevard address, but you'll actually need to turn onto Walnut to access the parking lot. It's located in a small strip mall that's hard to spot from the road because State College Boulevard deeps downward under a railroad bridge. However, there's usually free parking in the lot (as long as the nearby power lifting gym doesn't hold a competition, which always results in an overload of cars).

The Pros:
* Lots of different dishes with more proteins than the standard fare (i.e. lengua, shrimp.)
* Customer service is usually very fast, friendly, and knowledgable.
* Costs are affordable (unlike other shops that have jacked up their prices)
* They offer free chips and salsa if you dine in

The Cons:
* During this past visit, the salsa bar had lemons instead of limes.
* The bathroom meets the bare minimum but could definitely use a remodel (or at least a deep cleaning)

The Conclusion:
Ponchos Tacos is not perfect, but it's one of my go-to places when I want good street tacos, mulitas, or vampiros at an affordable price.“

“This place has some of the best Mexican-style chicken in Orange County at reasonable prices. Don't be fooled by the unassuming atmosphere and limited menu - this place focuses like a laser on chicken and does it well. I was surprised that potato salad was included with my meal and even more surprised that it was excellent. Even though there was only one person behind the counter service was fast and attentive. The restaurant was clean and tidy including the restroom.“

“This place has my favorite bean and cheese burrito (with sour cream 😬) and I always get a cabeza taco on the side. The tortilla alone is amazing. If the B and C burrito by itself speaks wonders, then imagine the rest of the menu. Amazing salsa (don't ask how they made it, they wont tell you). Been going here for years and I dont know what it is, but they just do it the way it's supposed to be done. They are always really nice to my wife and I when we stop by 😁“

“As a Mexican, I know what makes a great taco. It all starts with the meat—the most important ingredient. The quality is excellent, it's well-seasoned, and the preparation gives it a delicious, authentic flavor. The portion size is generous, so every taco is satisfying.

The salsa bar is another highlight. My favorite is the green salsa, but every salsa Navarro's offers is fresh and full of flavor. The vegetables are always fresh and crunchy, which makes the tacos even better.

““Wow” Monday I went to restaurant and pre-ordered 20 meals for my guests who were going to be celebrated by daughters 2 year birthday. Mayra was great, friendly & professional but there was a misunderstanding on the date. Which of course I feel terrible about! But they accommodated my order for the correct date! Everyone enjoyed the food. Especially the bass fish with vegetables and rice plate! Fancy for 12.00. Large portions too!“

“We’re always looking to try new spots! We found this one in the heart of downtown town Fullerton. At first we were skeptical of trying it out bc it was empty! We decided to give it a try anyway…

We opted to share a molcajete which includes two sides of rice and beans.

The rice and beans were delicious! The rice was super fluffy, it’s like the Mexican rice all abuelitas know how to make!

The molcajete itself is an 8/10
The chicken was very flavorful
The arrachera was ok.
The mini quesadillas were 🔥

“Honestly, I haven’t had a torta or horchata this good in a while, so I went in with pretty low expectations. But I could immediately tell there’s something special behind their tortas. The bread was carefully toasted, the meat was flavorful, and all the ingredients tasted fresh and well put together.

The horchata was also excellent, the flavor wasn’t too weak or overpowering, just right. Any chance I get, I’ll be coming back. This has definitely become one of my favorite places!“

The Guac was chunky fresh deliciousness as was the salsa with just enough spice. But.. the carne asada burritos are made with a tortilla that is first fried with mozzarella and theres nothing like it. The meat was super tasty.. everything was perfection. “I don't have to say this to those who know me but I'm a regular at which ever Del Taco is nearest to my current job. Quick, clean, good tasting food, and the price is right. I am especially fond of the one on Rosecrans and Euclid. Overall, I think they must have a great training program there because I find the employees to be unusually courteous for a fast food place.“
