This place is actually better than most places especially compared to other food court locations. I wish this in Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa.

Food was excellent. The tonkatsu crispy and tender. It’s in Tokyo Central marketplace so you go shopping after.

If you have good taste in katsu then this is the place for you. If you don't then byeeeee. I love this place because it reminds me of this famous spot in Tokyo, called Butagumi. Both of them share this premium flaky crispy batter on the outside which I love. I know most katsu uses a thicker more dense batter but I prefer this. I will DEFINITELY be returning. If I had to describe how the batter is, it almost looks like bonito flakes were fried on it, but that's a good thing with the flakiness. The katsu does take a little bit of time to make as I'm under the impression it's fresh but in my opinion worth the wait. You can always go shopping in Tokyo Central for a little or order a snack at one of the other food places. This location is inside the Tokyo Central and to the right of the entrance. If you're going to eat in a supermarket food court, this is one of the best ones. All the vendors here are pretty great. With eating out prices going sky high, this place is reasonable at roughly 15 bucks for a complete meal. This time around, I chose the filet-croquet set which comes with a pork tenderloin katsu and a cream croquet. Even with the additional drink and tip, it came out to under 22 bucks.the filet predictably was super tender. But the cream croquet was luscious. It wasn't the crab cream croquet but I was expecting a standard potato croquet so this was a pleasant surprise.I've also had the mille feuille katsu and a few other items and they've all been great. Just be sure to get there early because they'll pack everything to go after 5 or 5:30 pm (I forgot the exact time.)

This location is inside Tokyo central, so we went here for lunch before grocery shopping. There's not as much selection as other locations but it's got enough great choices already! After ordering at the counter, we waited for about 15-20 mins for the food which was a very reasonable time for the katsu to be fried freshly. We tried the cheese mille katsu and the katsu curry sets. Both were very delicious! I obsoletely love the crispness of their katsu! We also ordered the croquettes and they were the best croquettes we have ever had! I am going to try other Kagura locations

Service was pretty fast. To go order that had everything prepared (utensils napkins sauces etc). Food was delicious. Katy's was lightly breaded- doesn't break your tooth like other local spots. And chicken was thick and perfectly cooked! Great lunch experience. Ambiance was poppin' too!

Came here for dinner after work on a coworker’s recommendation - it was excellent! I got The Loin Katsu Set, which was a great value - katsu, rice, and soup all for under $15. The pork was so juicy and tender, and the outside was so unbelievably light and crispy. The sauce was very good and went great with the pork. Would definitely come again!Parking: Park at Tokyo Central, the restaurant is inside there.

The food at the food court is nice, but I just like to grab the sushi from the store. The tables and chairs are kept clean, the floor had a bunch of dropped food left on it.

Solid place for various types of Katsu. Inside the Tokyo Central food court! 4.5/5Food: The chicken katsu is great quality. The chicken is always fresh! It comes with Chicken Katsu, salad, rice, pickles, katsu sauce, mustard, and miso soup. I eat exactly in this order: 1. Eat Katsu dipped in katsu sauce and little bit of mustard 2. Eat salad and rice 3. Finish with miso soupService: They are usually fast in completing your order. It is take out only after 5PMAmbiance: It is one of the spots inside a food court, so not a formal restaurant environment. There is a decent amount of seating, and you get to try other foods in the food court if you don't feel like katsu :)

Really crunchy and fresh tasting katsu that's deep fried but doesn't taste greasy. I didn't think I could eat katsu here after coming back from Japan, but this place is pretty good. Nice and friendly workers and reasonably priced. 4.5 stars!

This is located inside Tokyo Central food court. Chicken katsu Don and katsu curry is what was ordered. Order room a little while but it was a weekend . Cabbage salad and onion dressing was fresh. The katsu Don was ok, a little too salty and soggy for my taste. The curry was good and the katsu was crispy. It was about $15 per combo that comes with miso soup. A can of soda is about $2.

We've been coming to Kagura for years and I'm torn writing this review. It should really be a 3.5 star review but you can't write half-star reviews. The food is absolutely delicious. There's no questioning that the quality of the fried pork cutlet is of the upmost delicious nature. But the problem is the value of the meal continues to decline. When we first started coming to Kagura, the portions were much larger and since the pandemic, they package all the food in to-go packaging, which reduces the size a lot. Even if you dine-in in the food court, they give your food in packaging that's really wasteful. I remember a time when the pork laid on top of this wire mesh instead of over the cabbage. So now, unless you eat the food right away, the half side of the katsu that lays on the cabbage gets soggy quickly. It does feel like the prices have gone up to the point where it's hard to keep raising prices but instead shrinkflation is a real thing. The amount of rice, cabbage, and soup given now is perhaps 3/4 of what it used to be. And before you come, check the hours of operation; they close fairly early around 7pm on weekdays.
