“Place feels very chill. Love the outside patio on a warm day. Their food is delicious too. I live right across from them and have only been there twice since it's a bit too pricey for me but it is very good. Their coffee is delicious. Thank you to the young lady taking the orders for suggesting the Chipotle sandwich (so yummy).“

“I really Love the lamb chops, dolmas and rice meatball soup. I didn’t take pictures, I was so busy eating my food. My kids loved the chicken kebab. Service is great. As a Latina I feel a little shy when I’m trying different food but they are very nice people and food is delicious.“

Ilopango Restaurant Family • $
United #5, 8332 Sepulveda Blvd, North Hills - 4.41 miles

“My favorite thing here is the sopa de res, it's pure comfort food. It comes with 2 tortillas and a small side of rice, I also usually ask for a small side of curtido. I'm not that familiar with Salvadoran food, so I was thinking Mexican tortillas the first time I ordered, but it's the soft, thick, handmade Salvadoran corn tortillas. So yummy. Enough for two people (or one very hungry person like me). It's not cheap (I think around $15) but totally worth it. The pupusas are also tasty. It takes about 15-20 minutes to prep the food, so you might want to call it in ahead of time if you are in a hurry. $1 extra charge if you use a credit card. Employees are masked. They sell gallinas rellenas and tamales de pollo for Thanksgiving and Christmas. When I went last week, the hours on their door were 9am to 7:30pm every day. The people who work there are really nice. I don't know how much English they speak. I show up speaking bad Spanish and they roll with it.“

“The menudo it's self was really good. I wish they will include hominy but I do get it that they serve it in the authentic form. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars it's because prices are not display- I order menudo to go but I wanted a small plate. They charge me $17 for a container and I was so shocked because I was looking for a small size. It was so awkward! I think sizes and prices should be update it!“

“Came here to watch some college football. Very nice mellow atmosphere, fantastic service and very accommodating when asked to put on a certain game. Three of the four that came with ordered an outstanding nachos plate and I had the chicken avocado salad which was really just okay. I'll try something different next time. But all in all really a great place and really friendly service. I'll be back!“

“I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Norms. I generally think of this chain as a depressing place retirees go for dinner at 4pm, and drunk youths go when the club lets out because it's the only place still open.I was wrong, and I'll gladly go back. The menu has been paired down and revamped in the 20 years since I went there as a 20-something partier myself. There were the standard breakfast and lunch diner options, and some very interesting, unusual options as well. I actually had a hard time choosing. I had the El Benedicto breakfast, and it was delicious! The egg was sunny side up and a little too runny in the whites for my liking, but it was fine. I asked for the hashbrowns well done, and they were, though they were still too white on the inside. I don't recall what the other members of the group got, but they all enjoyed their meals. The service staff was fantastic. I don't remember the first young man's name who took our drink order, thoigh he was very friendly and nice, but a man named Juan took over for him, and he was great. He was warm, friendly, helpful, and efficient.I deducted a star for the atmosphere because, while they have clearly updated the look of the place and did a good job, it was noisy and hectic. There were bus boys working their butts off, which is great for table turnover and getting people seated, but they zoomed their carts past us so much, the people sitting on the aisle were afraid they'd get hit. It was hard for them to relax. Also, some of the carts were filthy, which was very off-putting in a restaurant setting. It makes you wonder what the back of house looks like. There was also someone there who apparently thought it was fine to just dump whole containers of dishes out, making a very loud clattering sound every few minutes. It was jarring and made conversation more difficult. We were seated on the other side of a partition to the kitchen, so I'm sure that didn't help. It may have been better farther away, but it's not a big place so I don't know about that. Between that, the music blasting from the kitchen, and general restaurant noise, we had to work hard to be heard. If we go back, I'll ask to be seated away from the kitchen even if it means we have to wait longer. All in all, it's good and I would go back!“

“First time visiting this place. Lots of wonderful people that were there during our visit. The staff was incredible and beyond nice. They had no problem going around and making sure every glass was full of fresh coffee. They would ask from time to time if everything was ok and if we needed anything. They made us feel like family. It has been awhile since I have gotten such wonderful service. Food was delicious!!! A hidden gem in my book.Dietary restrictions: They do offer sugar free options like sweeteners and pancake syrup.Parking: They offer handicap parking“
