My fiancé and I decided to have our wedding reception here at the Oceano. Its beautiful, the food was great and the staff was so exceptionally friendly. BUT - one person absolutely made everything possible. That person is Nancy. She deserves the Nobel Prize for wedding planning. I'm a nervous person who gets overwhelmed by planning big events. I don't know what I don't know. Luckily Nancy was there to guide us both through the entire process. I really can't say enough wonderful things about her and her coworkers. I'd wake up in the middle of the night thinking "OMG, did we get tablecloths?!" No problem. Nancy already had it under control. Got a question? Nancy has the answer and already knows the DJ/photographer/cake baker and more. Without her, I would have been a total mess. She made us both feel like we were in VERY capable hands and everything was going to be ok. AND the best part is that it was ok! The reception went down without a single snafu! After our first meeting, we both walked out feeling like a huge weight had been lifted off our chest. You will too.

Highly recommend this beautiful Hotel! Clean, large, beautiful rooms, with great views, large bathroom, and comfortable bed. Walk to everything, bars and restaurants right around the hotel makes it very convenient and with the ocean right across the street is wonderful. Order a club sandwich from room service and it was delicious my one and only complaint would be the bartender. He was rude. We won't be going into the bar area again. Everyone else was amazing and very helpful. Can't wait to go back!

Jenn and her team did an amazing job making sure our day was perfect! From the rehearsal, to the ceremony, to the reception, everything was amazing! The rooms were impeccable, the Wedding Garden has a breathtaking view and the Gate House is perfect! We were very impressed with the entire process and our big day! Highly recommend having your wedding at the Oceano. You will not be disappointed.

We recently used this venue to host our son's wedding, as well as provide rooms for many of our family and friends. If you are looking for a destination spot that is gorgeous, overlooking half moon bay, with views, ambiance, fantastic food and service, first class event planning and management of a event like a wedding, you've found it! What an experience! Over the span of several months, we worked with Nancy to put on an amazing wedding day for our son and his new bride. She promised us she'd handle all the heavy lifting and she certainly did that and more. I can say so much more, but I'm sure you get how well this all went. The wedding was a success! The rooms and housekeeping were top notch. Our friends and family were pleased. And the added bonus, free parking for all our guests. And btw, this is only 30 minutes south of San Francisco. Don't overlook this place. We will certainly come back!

Besides the views of the bay there's not much I can say was good. This place needs a major remodel to be a four star hotel and real amenities and service. The rooms are dated, you can hear noise in the hallway, shower is tiny and bad water pressure. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. The first bed was noticeably sagging. The rooms are large, suite style Vegas rooms, such a waste to not make them comfortable. The restaurant is only open Thursday to Sunday, the food they served was pretty meh. There is no bar or place to hang out in the evening. It's more of a beachside inn.

Living in San Francisco is such a treat as one gets spoiled with spectacular places as our "back yard". Half Moon Bay is only 40 minutes away and takes us to another world. With a beautiful coast line on our way down, I wonder why we don't do this more often. It's really really breathtaking and I must admit, we Bay Area folks are SOOOO spoiled by God's gifts. Having worked extra hard, my hubby and I treated ourselves to Oceano Hotel and Spa's biggest and most luxurious room on its property, the two bedroom villa. Upon entering after walking a short hallway, the "villa" suite reveals a lovely living room adorned with a fireplace and a patio /balcony for relaxation. A kitchen equipped with all modern appliances, kitchen utensils and a small dining table beckons us to utilize it. We emptied our bags of sodas and wine into the fridge and organized snacks on its kitchen counter immediately. Lol There are two tastefully , but casual decorated coastal themed bedrooms full of light colors and materials--an easy beachy vibe comes through, calming me down instantly. The hotel uses a color palette featuring plenty of white and warm sandy neutrals, as well as a spectrum of blues. NICE! I must say that the beds are very comfortable. The location of this classy beach hotel could not get any better. It's is just right next to Sam's Chowder House --went there twice each day-- and in the center of HARBORVIEW Shops snack in the middle of great restaurants and central to the beaches! I'm coming back!

Beautiful hotel. We stayed in a double bed room. Beds separated by a half partition. The sitting area had a table , sofa, desk area, coffee table, wet bar, mini fridge, TV, and a balcony with two chairs and a table. The bathroom was very spacious. Separate shower and tub. The exterior and interior of the hotel was very well kept.

We stayed at the Oceano Hotel and Spa in Halfmoon Bay California for my cousins September wedding. I will say that I was absolutely blown away with how beautiful this hotel is. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Location, location, location... Situated right along the water, within walking distance of restaurants bars and cafes, the location is perfect. Yes it is on the pricey side, but like shoes, you get what you pay for! I would stay at the Oceano again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Lovely hotel from the 20th century. If you want an true retreat from technology near the waterfront, this is the place. If you need access to the Internet, go somewhere else like a Motel 6 that has more reliable wifi connection

If you can afford to get away with your loved one(s) to the beautiful coast of Half Moon Bay, I highly recommend this location! The hotel rooms were clean (and made up in a timely manner daily) and there is a tiny shopping center right next to it. I have to give my shout out to Cendy! She was awesome in making sure that we were well taken care of and that we got into our room as soon as possible after a 7.5 hour drive up the coast!

Rooms were very nice. We had reservations for Friday and Saturday nights , before we got to our hotel I got a phone call from the hotel. Her name was daisy asking for our ETA I said Is there a problem because I have never gotten a call from a hotel asking me that. She said no just needs the ETA and hung up. Very unprofessional and short. When we got there same attitude and shortness with us , very unfriendly for this type of job. Overall our stay was nice and quiet, just wish she was friendlier

My husband and I just got married in Half Moon Bay at Mavericks house last month and we did our hotel room blocks at Oceano for us, family, and friends. Overall a great location and nice hotel. It's walking distance from that wedding venue and great restaurants. We stayed there for three nights in one of the honeymoon suites and it was wonderful. My parents booked one of the two story villa rooms which was really spacious and nice too. If you're getting married in HMB this is a great hotel to recommend for your guests to stay at. We will be back!!!
