“Hands down, really good Japanese sushi, better than any I've tried in the East Bay. We happened upon this place while looking for sushi on the way back home from Yosemite. I think it really makes all the difference when sushi restaurants are owned by actual Japanese people. The rice is better, theres a good balance between the rice and the filling, and they have real Japanese ingredients like gobo. The vegetable tempura and agadashi tofu were also delicious. Will definitely stop by again when we go out that way. The only thing, I'm surprised the prices were so steep for Modesto.“
“Okawa Sushi is definitely a hidden gem! Even though it's only been a year since they opened, they have been constantly making new changes, only for the better. Ambiance, food quality, and customer service is top notch. Please be sure to give it a try, you won't be disappointed!!“
“Enjoyed a delicious dinner with family last night. The food was so delicious. Beyond my expectations. Edamame is a must! Beef wrapped asparagus was so good. I ordered the Dante’s inferno roll it was delicious and packed with flavor and the prefect amount of heat! My husband had the BTS roll and it was also delicious The Bee’s margarita was amazing.Only down fall was the wait. We were told 50 mins and it was 1.5 hours. It appeared they were seating tables who there after us and were “know” that was annoying. But the food made up for it.“
“I'm not a big sushi eater.but I have to say after try it ,I found it delicious. I will definitely be back .you should get there before 6pm after that it gets pretty packed. Service was spot on .price I'm told is very reasonable for sushi .“
“I got the Asada egg rolls & Crab Rangoon egg rolls both were delicious dipped in sweet thai chilli sauce. Also got the Spam Musubi also good. Inside discount store so shop while you wait. Good little fusion spot good service & people give them a try when in Turlock.“
“We moved to the San Joaquin county a year ago and have been looking for a good Japanese restaurant, and this is it. The foods, the atmosphere and the services were just right. Not too fancy, but way above average. We ordered the deluxe boat, deep-fried softshell, oysters, and other things, and they were all good. The place was clean and the waitresses were quite pleasant. I was surprised the prices were a little cheaper than many other Japanese restaurants in the valley.Parking: Their parking lot is spacious and have enough space for all customers.“
“One of my favorite places in Modesto! I've tried the spicy scallop, spicy tuna, and octopus, as well as their Spicy House sauce, Eel sauce, Spicy mayo and Ponzu. Everything is so delicious! These are my personal favorites, but everything else is just as good!“
“I got the Takoyaki, Gyoza, and magic school bus with a sprite. The gyoza was perfectly cooked. Slightly crunchy as was fried yet the pork filling was perfectly temped for a delightful eat. The takoyaki was hot to the core but pleasant as it was tamed by the cold ponzu and mayo toppings. Finally the magic school bus specialty roll was by far the best finisher as was fulfilling with the smoked salmon, shitake mushroom, and cream cheese pairing topped by a delicious ponzu sauce. A much better roll than a simple Philadelphia roll any day in my opinion. Overall good, just wish it could've been more affordable.“
“First time here and would be back again! We wanted to try a sushi location near ceres and was not disappointed. We went for lunch, the service was quick and attentive and our food was delicious. We had also ordered cream cheese wontons as well but I forgot to snag a picture of them.“
