“Los Alpes has always been there for me on hot summer days. Their ice cream and revueltos are extremely satisfying. I always take a box of a dozen paletas to go for my family at home. The service is quick and the staff are knowledgeable. The only downside is the location, there is never any street parking which has certainly turned me away sometimes. I ordered Yellow Curry w/chicken & Pad Si Ew Noodles with beef to go, I was asked to have a seat and about 12-15 mins later the food was ready to go. The yellow curry was tasty but I tend to have very high standards when it comes to curry. It was more than adequate but it could have been spicier and to be honest, I’ve had better and worse. “This is my go-to taco spot for al pastor. It’s easily the best around this area. The meat is cooked on a trompo and served fresh, with a great marinade and that perfect sweetness from the pineapple sliced over it. The tortillas aren’t handmade, but the flavor of the pastor more than makes up for it.

There have been a few times during slower hours where the pastor is pre-cooked and already cut, but most of the time it’s fresh off the trompo and on point.

I’ve tried other items like their quesadillas and different meats, but those are more on the average side. This place really stands out for the pastor.

They do have a big selection of salsas. My favorites are the verde and aguacate, both spicy and full of flavor. The pickled purple onions with habanero are also really good, and the cucumbers with chile and a squeeze of limón are a great side. Everything for sides are self-serve, which is convenient.

The agua frescas here are some of the best around. They taste homemade, not like prepackaged mixes. Sometimes I’ll stop by just for a cold horchata.

Be ready for long lines, as this place gets packed during the late hours of the night. The line usually moves pretty fast though, and the flavor makes it worth the wait. The seating area has grown over the years and is available at first come, first serve. However, nothing beats eating tacos over the hood of my car.

Service can be hit or miss depending on the staff’s mood. I’ve had a couple of instances where I was told I didn’t pay for an item even though I did, which was frustrating.

Overall, if I’m craving al pastor tacos and a great horchata, this is the spot I’m going to.”

“This is one of my go-to spots for TJ-style tacos. The meat is cooked over an open fire, which gives it a unique, smoky flavor that really stands out. It’s always tender and packed with flavor, and the handmade tortillas are perfectly cooked every time.

They have a small but excellent salsa selection. My favorite is the chunkier one with a nice kick and flavor. My go-to meats are carne asada and al pastor, and the fresh aguacate on top takes everything to another level. Really brings me back to visiting family in Tijuana and going out for tacos there.

The burritos here are also amazing. Very homemade, like something straight out of abuelita’s kitchen. I’ve had a couple of times where the rice was a bit hard from sitting, but nothing major. The beans are consistently great, and they include cebolla and a jalapeño on the side at no extra charge. You can also ask for extra salsa to go, which is a nice bonus.

The staff is super friendly and service is fast. They accept cash or Zelle, and while prices are about average, the quality definitely makes it worth it. They also offer a good variety of items, so you’re not limited in your choices.

I normally don't get any drinks here since I usually take my order to-go. Try to avoid going to the liquor store located behind this taco spot. Very overpriced for the selection they have. I assume this taco spot has drinks available for purchase.

Overall, it’s a small family-run business that really cares about the quality of their food. Anytime I’m craving tacos or a burrito, this is the spot I go to.”

“Im from Glendale, and was looking for a Cuban Bakery that had “ Capuchinos” its a cone shaped wet cake. I went to Portos and they discontinued them , so I went To Gigis and they didn’t carry them anymore.So I googled a Cuban Bakery in Hungtington Park and Moyas Bakery had a picture of them so I called before going there to see if they had them, the gentleman on the phone said yes. So I went there. I didn’t see them on the display case so I asked him and he said let me get them for you. I was so excited to see them. They were delicious. I took a dozen of them plus other pastries. It’s an old school traditional Cuban Bakery. I love it. I will be back

Parking: Only 4 parking spaces in front of this corner strip mall. One handicapped in front of the Bakery and 3 extra next to the Handicap space. I had no problem parking but I noticed there was more ample parking on the side.

They will have emergencies and close early sometimes, at other times they will have a slow day. If you are planning to have some food that day contact them before noon. They do need to update the prices on their menu though. With all the shortcomings I still give them 5 stars because the food is so good and I am not too particular about inconsistencies. “This isn’t bahn mi anymore! We’re going to El Salvador though with tortas de pavo, jamon, y frijol con crema. They have a lot of pan dulce and other Latin American goodies. The lady who tends the counter is really nice and she will make your sandwiches fresh right after you order. The tortas were so flavorful with soft bread 😋😋. Don’t skip this one if you love a good treat.”
