“Susuru holds a special place in my heart. I’ve tried a number of items on their menus and everything is ???. I can’t stress enough about how good this ramen is. I’ve only known about Susuru for a month or so but have eaten here over 8 times. All of the broths are rich and authentic. The Thai coconut curry ramen is mind blowing and a generous serving. My go tos are the Miso and Tonkatsu. Add spice for extra flavor. I brought my coworkers here and everyone’s bowls were finished down to the last drop of broth. Easily one of the best ramens shops in LA. It’s got a great mom and pop atmosphere. Food comes out quick. What else can I say, I’m in love with Susuru. Anytime I want ramen in the future, I’m going to come here. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water. ?“

“First time coming here, we ordered the kimchi fried rice, beef galbi plate, and grilled shrimp plate - it was all soo delicious! Probably the best kimchi fried rice I've ever had, and it had an overeasy egg! I got it to go but it was quick and made fresh. Will definitely be back!“

“The best food and the best service! This is our third time coming here and nothing ever misses. The lunch is always a great vibe! This last time was with a big party of 8 and it was all handled seamlessly and everyone loved their meals, so thought it was time to give them a shoutout! Of the 3 times we've had the same server (Adrian) and they are truly such a special server happy to be there and be helpful! “The place itself is tiny, but the service is impressive! The owner himself greeted us and answered questions about the menu, then gave us samples. Ended up getting the Hawaiian Poke combo with 1/2 cucumber and seaweed salad, and a ginger ale. My favorite thing off the menu is hands down the seaweed salad. The poke was good, I think that because it’s intended to be a new take on poke itself, I was a little disappointed. I just happen to love the typical assembly line style of poke where you get to pick everything you want, and that wasn’t an option here, so I felt like there was something missing. It’s really just about personal preferences, but if you really like poke & want to try something different, then I would recommend it!Side note: I didn’t try the ramen, but the entire restaurant smelled strongly of broth and butter noodles, (in a good way) so I would be curious to try their ramen next.“

We started off with an assorted sashimi plate that had 3 pieces each of tuna, salmon, kampachi, and Japanese scallops and a plate of scallop carpaccio. It was soo yummy that we ordered another plate of scallop carpaccio and then we felt like we just had to try the kampachi carpaccio. Sooo good and the scallops just melt in your mouth! For our main dishes, we decided to share the Spicy Tonkotsu with extra bamboo shoots and the Truffle Butter Tonkotsu. The broths were very flavorful, the noodles fresh, and the chasu was delicious. For dessert, the friendly staff recommended the house-made Shio Koji ice cream with black sea salt to help cleanse our palates. It was very light and definitely refreshing. And I also tried the Genmaicha tea which was very light, aromatic, and soothing. All in all this place is a must go-to when you're in Ktown. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and very helpful for suggesting menu items. This is definitely our family's favorite find of the year!“

“I had takeaways a couple of times before & finally did dining ? in about a couple of weeks ago ! With my mom & sister & her husband . The waiter was super nice ,a very friendly Japanese guy who was excited to see Japanese customers !! He answered to all of my brother in law's questions & our questions very honestly & helped us a lot. He gave us a tip to get ramen/ sushi combinations, too ! So that we could try both out / save $ !! They had matcha beer ? which was green !! It smelled so nice !! My brother in law said he loved it! But,according to the waiter ,no one really does !? LOL He said everyone who orders it ,leaves a half .?But ,he really loved it as he likes matcha green tea .We had vegan sushi ,my fave is fake eel one !! So yummy !! ? Only issues were there is no complimentary parking so you have to pay for valet which is 6$. With the already expensive ramen be prepared to spend about 40-50$ for two people.“

“4/5 stars (Vegetarian here for a plant-based/vegan review):We visited Suehiro Mini in Chinatown after the Chinatown Neighborhood Night Market hosted by CCEDLA in October, but I'm posting this review after learning that Suehiro's Little Tokyo location is facing eviction. Suehiro is a small family run restaurant chain with two generations of history, and the location in Chinatown has a smaller menu and storefront than its other locations.We were seated around 10:30 pm and the store wasn't too busy but it took us around 20 minutes to get our orders in and another 20 for the food to come out. Service is on the slower side so if you're on a time crunch definitely factor that in! There are four vegan options: vegan tomato ramen, vegan mapo don, vegan vegetable udon, and vegan yakisoba. I ordered the vegan tomato ramen. The broth was super thick and flavorful, and topped with fried and battered zucchini, tomato, and eggplants. While the portion sizes are quite large, the broth had a bit of a one note flavor and wasn't able to continue eating after I got through half. They have to-go containers so I was able to bring home the rest and it served as another meal. My friends ordered a Haiyashi Rice and Curry Rice and both really enjoyed their meal too. Their portions seemed even bigger, so if you have a small appetite I recommend sharing! Though service wasn't the quickest, we still enjoyed our meal, and I would love to return to try the other vegan options. If you're in the Chinatown area, try this ramen spot (as well as other small legacy businesses who are being pushed out by wealthier corporations that are actively working on gentrifying Chinatown).“

“Best Ramen in Silver Lake. The broth is uncious and satisfying. If you have no allergies, get the egg (I add dried seaweed as well). Large servings even at the smaller portion price point. Inside dining is tight, but outside heating does the trick.“

“Service was great with attentive server and bringing out dishes. The lunch omakase was by far the better one compared to the dinner set. Fun interactive experience for the lunch omakase with different dipping salts, and making your own sushi with rice, seaweed, and assorted season sashimi pieces. Dinner set was nicer in terms of presentation, but not as satisfying with the amount of food provided and cuts of fish offered. Great place to try though for lunch if you're a fan of aesthetic and sushi!“

“We came here on a Tuesday night looking for a quick but savory meal. It was busy but there were some seats open. casual place. The food came out quite quickly, and as a whole it was very good. We got chicken kaarage, which was a good portion for its price. The accompanying spicy mayo was unexpectedly quite nice. boy got the blaze, which he really liked. I got the classic ramen, which was flavorful and not too salty. The noodles were cooked very well, and the broth warmed me nicely. I have came here before craving the tsukemen, and it is for the most part quite good but always ends up tasting very salty by the end. will probably still come back and order it again though.“

As soon as I saw the first roll come out I knew I was in trouble. “Never had ramen broth that wasn't made from pork. The taste was amazing, light, refreshing and less oilier than tonkotsu. The noodles were boiled to perfection, chewy and delicious. “I was in the neighborhood and accidentally discover Jidaiya. Being the first time dining there, I was pleasantly surprised. We had the Tonkotsu shio ramen and the broth flavor was intense and rich, just the way I like it. Also had generous portion of topping and veggies. I especially love the sheets of seaweed and spoonful of toasted sesame that added the crunch, flavor and texture to the ramen. The only minor imperfection were the thinly sliced chashu. Sadly they were not my favorite as it's slight on the lean, tougher side. Please improve on the chashu, other than that, it's an awesome bowl of ramen! The noodles were cooked el dente. I'm a ramen snob and this place is pretty legit! We also order a side of takoyaki. These were one of the largest takoyaki, with a nice outer crunch and soft, gooey filling with plenty of octopus. If you're very hungry, they offer a combo with the order of ramen. The combo are very fair priced and lot of selection to choose from. Friendly service, proactive about asking if we needed 2 smaller bowls as we were sharing a bowl of ramen. The ambience is dated but feels homey like a true mom and pop shop. Though the dated feel didn't bother me much since the food is pretty good. I mean, come on, where can you find a bowl of decent ramen that still cost under $15!! Talk about value and good food. Regarding napkins, there were boxes of tissues. Which I thought it was a nice gesture as it's soft. With the hot bowl of soup, I appreciate the little touch of soft tissues. It's an odd thing, but it was thoughtful. I highly suggest this place whenever you're in the neighborhood. It's hard to be a small business especially in this economy. “It is chilly in LA tonight so how about some miso soup? Waku waku was just what we were looking for. We ducked in to warm up with a couple of bowls of miso and a salad. Waku waku also serves ramen, sushi and pokes. It all looks good we are staying up the block at the Dream only a block and a half away. We plan to come back soon. Recommend.“

“Hakata Ikkousha Ramen is in my top 3 of favorite ramen restaurants in LA. Specifically the black devil ramen, which is my go to order. The fusion of the garlic from the black tonkatsu and the spice from the god fire makes the perfect broth. Chasu is thin, and the egg is cooked perfect with the yolk runny. I go in on the noodles and order kaedama (extra noodles) for only $2 more. I order the noodles hard with the spicy level 3. I have a high spice tolerance, so 3 is perfect for that kick and very enjoyable. At times I get level 4 spicy but it can overpower the black tonkatsu broth because it's pretty spicy. 5-star ramen, excellent choice for a cold night! All the staff are enthusiastic and just overall a great authentic ramen experience. The restaurant is small so prepare to wait at least 25 -45min for dinner.“

They have several options for lunch and good lunch combinations that are worth ordering. I wish I could upgrade the curry from their lunch combo to the katsu curry. “This is the best ramen I've ever had. The taste of the food covers the many shortcomings of this establishment, the biggest of which is the long queue. The last time we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes... Therefore, take the electronic queue in advance, or by QR code.The restaurant itself is extremely small, the tables with windows to the kitchen are blocked by partitions and you get the impression that you are in prison waiting to talk on the phone through the glass. But despite such a strange decision, it is quite convenient for the staff, and the staff here is very friendly and fast.“

The sides were available as an add on at $2.50 each. There wasn't too much of a wait as groups come and go fairly quickly. It was refreshing and not too sweet! The wait was about 25 minutes, but it felt longer because we were out in the wind the whole time.
