Today on April 14th 2024 we received horrible customer service . We have been here before but we have never experienced anything like Today. My husband and I ordered 2 coffees and Tricia our server took our order. She was busy with many customers after us. She forgot about our order so we went to ask about our coffees 15 minutes later. Customers who ordered after us received their food and drinks, Tricia admits that she forgot about our drinks so we asked for a refund. She cussed us out and instead of returning the money to our debit card, she threw our money on the counter and continued to cuss us out for asking for a refund. I understand she was busy and stressed out, but you shouldn't take it out on the paying customers. I have never received such horrible service! Wow! Now we don't feel comfortable returning. This is such a shame and disappointment for the Imperial Beach Tin Fish Restaurant.

Hubs and I are visiting from Wyoming on our honeymoon. We came to the Tin Fish on our first and last night in San Diego. I would have left 5 stars but both times that we visited they were out of the lobster Mac n cheese. However, the clam chowder in the bread bowl was absolutely amazing both times I had it. My husband had a cheese burger with the crinkle fries and again, both times, fantastic! It's a small but man do they make some darn good food!Thank you for making a part of our vacation memorable ❤️

Amazing fish and chips! The fish was so tender and the batter was a nice thin layer. The best I've had!

When I looked up this place prior to visiting, there was a note that said hours may be incorrect. That was very true when we went the first time, we showed up within the posted hours, but the staff was already closing up shop. We went earlier a different day, and once there the staff was semi-in attentive and semi unfriendly. It almost felt as if we were inconveniencing them by ordering our food.Service aside, the food itself was pretty good, but the view was spectacular. We went right at sunset, and nothing better on this trip.Overall, I would go again, for the simple convenience of where it is, and for the views it offers of the ocean and the sunset.Vegetarian options: Most of the menu is fried fishDietary restrictions: Most of the menu is fried fishParking: Parking is hard to find due to limited availability and price, plus the fact that you have to walk over a mile to get to the restaurant itself as it’s on the pierKid-friendliness: Plenty of menu choices that may appeal to childrenWheelchair accessibility: Electric wheelchair is recommended. As mentioned previously, this place is a mile out over the ocean over wooden planks with a slight incline the whole way

Gave four stars due to there is no sign pointing in the direction of the restaurant. Navigation just says, arrived and out of the mini restaurants located in the same area. You have to figure out where this particular restaurant is located. Restaurant is located at the end of a fishing pier as you walk down people are catching and cleaning fish.Owner was very nice and attentive, food was really good, and is cooked to order. Plenty of outdoor seating on the pier limited inside seating.
