I’ve eaten here a few times throughout 2022, and I just resumed eating here. The food is delicious, HOWEVER… I am vegetarian and I beginning to think they cook the Egusi WITH the meat and maybe remove it only when “no meat” is requested. I’ve found small pieces of bone in my Egusi stew… making me unable to finish the rest. This is lazy and unacceptable, so just be mindful when you are requesting a vegetarian option (which they do advertise is a possible request.) I may not eat here again for this reason, unfortunately.

This restaurant Veronica’s kitchen is a place where you want to call ahead for your order.I called at 11 o’clock and my order was ready and waiting at 2 PM when I arrived. I selected the jollof rice with plantains and okra soup no meat. The rice and plantains were good.Unfortunately the Okra soup was disgusting ?.I had to dispose it. Reason being, there was a strange taste in the soup as if the okra was rancid or cooked beyond repair.I will continue to look for a restaurant that make great African cuisine across the board. In search of great African cuisine… Yum Yum Yum. This just was not the place for me.

I waited 3 hours and 30 minutes outside waiting for my order. Wasted my time and money after I tried the food it did not deserve the hype that it gets. The restaurant is not clean and the area is dangerous. I could’ve slaughtered a cow and cooked it while I waited to eat at this restaurant and my food would still not be ready. The food ended up in the trash because I did not like it either.

A Flavorful Journey to Remember: Fufu and Egusi Soup DelightNestled in a cozy corner of taste, my recent culinary escapade led me to a delightful rendezvous with fufu and goat egusi soup. With each spoonful, this dish painted a canvas of flavors that lingered long after the meal. The dish arrived, textures and aromas. The fufu, creamy and inviting, stood as a perfect partner to the hearty egusi soup. The leafy goodness within the soup added a touch of freshness, complementing the rich and savory undertones. As I took my first bite, a subtle yet distinct spiciness danced on my taste buds. It was the kind that gently awakened the palate without overpowering the dish's other dimensions. And that distinctive scent of dry fish, it was a reminder of the dish's authentic origins, telling a story of traditional culinary mastery. What truly sets this dish apart is the freedom to choose your protein – a symphony of options that included beef, chicken, goat, and fish. It seems like the soup itself has fish broth on top of the protein of your choice.Speaking of El Salvador, fufu and egusi soup might feel like a warm embrace from home. The echoes of taste, the familiarity in every bite, transport you to memories that cross borders. It will remind you of (sopa de torta de pescado). The journey was well worth it, for every aspect – the creaminess, the leafy charm, the gentle spice, the reminiscence of dry fish, and the choice of protein – combined to create an experience that beckons a revisit. Their atmospher need some improvement such as updating the inside of the building. Yet the food was authentic and delicious. The owner really took care of me she even called the cook and asked me if I had eaten goat before which I have. I'm definitely coming back

First time trying and honestly wish i didn’t because my first experience was bad, to keep it simple the Beef tasted like beef jerky which was a waste of money because they gave me so much and i was tired of trying to chew, lacked good customer service and they never brought out the rest of my order only half. The place is not easy on the eyes either but I’m not going to get into that.

After seeing this spot on Tiktok we were excited to try it. We waited for 2 hours after being told it would only be 30 mins. They served people who arrived after us and then told us they ran out of chicken (what we ordered) after we had already paid and after waiting for 2 hours. Horrible customer service. Nobody knew what our order was. Place isn’t managed well. On top of all that the food was not even all that great.

Visiting Los Angeles and my kids were really excited to try egusi and fufu. The reviews for Veronica's were good so we showed up togive it a try. When we arrived there were a few people there but not crowded. We were told we could order to go only. We placed our order and was told it would be approximately 30 minutes, no problem. 30 minutes come and go no food. People came and ordered after us and was served in house while we continued to patiently wait. We asked about our food and was told it was coming so we waited some more. After approximately an hour of waiting we went to the counter to inquire again and learned they were out of one entrées and hadn't started preparing our food. The kitchen staff were frazzled and no one seemed to know what was happening. I was so upset especially since I was really looking forward to trying but I definitely won't be back.

Truly great food. I have never had authentic West African food before coming here, but will definitely be coming back. Small, family business that really makes you feel welcomed. I had to wait a little for the food, but once I tried it, I could tell why. The chicken was tender, the stew was so flavorful, and the pounded yam was the perfect accompaniment.

I love getting the red stew with goat and jollof rice. Very tasty and the portions are humongous. Sometimes we call it in and pick it up and sometimes I order online. Sometimes the order is ready 5 minutes after it’s placed and sometimes it takes an hour. King of unpredictable…but it always tastes good. And it’s less expensive than some other places
