When you walk in, you immediately feel the ambiance of the Islands. They really do have good coffee though. The wait was minimal and everything was flavored well. I got a flat white, and the pull was exactly as expected and not bitter at all. They have a lot of snack options, food options, and spam musubi!!! I'm also looking at some reviews that are once star, like JW. and Ever B. You two are idiots. I will absolutely defend a business that might have been forced to close their kitchen because of either not having the staff for it, or because they have been ordered to. Finding good quality help is hard right now. And it costs a business money to change things ESPECIALLY if it's only a temporary situation. They should 'take down their signs and stop deceiving people', damn I'm shocked at how petty this sounds. So to those two reviewers that gave this business a 1 star review because they feel they've been lied to, screw off. You probably live with lies you don't want to admit anyway.

Ordered the zebra mocha and it was the perfect pick me up for a warm day! I would come back here if I'm in the area and they had some breakfast items as well.

The owner here is super friendly. I am often here for small lunch & dinner stops after work or feel like doing project & studies away from the university campus. I most often order the hawaiian style rice to slowly munch at & just enjoy the open seating. She usually remembers me when I come around & greets me with a smile since the first time we had talked over a drink and learning I was a student at university.

As of 2/2/2022, Kona is closed and ordered to leave/vacate per OC Sheriff Department. Notice is posted on their front door. Shame because I liked their coffee and food selection pre-COVID. They never really came back during the pandemic since OC allowed limited dining and stuff: inconsistent staffing, inconsistent hours, closed kitchen, etc. I worked across the street so I was a frequent customer to Kona and plaza in general.

This place has some of the best tasting coffee that I’ve had in Orange County, the but the e last few days we’ve gone by, it’s been closed. 2 previous days we were here late (after 6pm) but the hours on listings and on their website differ. Today we came by at 3pm and they were closed. Sad to have missed it this week while visiting.

10am on a Saturday and they're closed! Not good at all! I e been here before and they do not serve food so don't bother coming here they probably went out of business.

It looks closed! When I looked into the window, all the merchandise was gone off of the walls and the furniture was in disarray. I asked for a gift card for the holidays and now I can't use it... It would have been nice to inform your customers of your changing hours via here or on social media.

What in the world happened to this place? I was a regular, and now I will never go back. My last two visits here were extremely disappointing. 1) Why keep the menu up when you no longer serve food? 2) Coffee drinks are just not the same as they used to be. Weak, poorly prepared. 3) Staff could not care less. Customers are an inconvenience to them, as if I'm interrupting their time on their mobile phones. 4) Management clearly does not care as they have made no attempt to bring the cafe back to its former status. 5) What is with that horrible sewer smell inside? Walking in you expect the welcoming aroma of coffee, instead your nose is assaulted with sickening sewer smell. Seeing the other reviews, I'm clearly not the only person who is disappointed with how far this place has fallen. Aloha, Kona. That's goodbye, not hello.

What happened here? It used to be a really nice place to grab a coffee or a treat. Today it felt like the apocalypse hit the store: it smelled like a sewer leak, the cashier told us they only have three items available (Americano, drip coffee, and coffee beans), and when we did get our Americano there was no milk or sugar at the condiment counter (just packets and packets of Stevia), which was blocked behind tables and chairs. Maybe today was just a really bad, one-off day for them. If so, I hope tomorrow's better.
I normally don't write reviews but this experience really upset me. Last week, I tried to order a hot latte to keep me warm on a rainy day. They said they were out of regular milk! Keep in mind this was before noon! The cashier told me they could substitute the regular milk for coconut, almond, or soy milk. I said I'd like almond milk. But, he said he would still have to charge me for the milk substitute, even though they ran out of milk!!! I feel like this place lacks good customer service because any normal place that values its customers wouldn't force someone to pay something that they did not want in the first place. I am really disappointed in you Kona...

Not sure what happened to this place because it was good and promising in the past! We drove out of the way for breakfast and was disappointed to hear that "they don't have a chef anymore". Our lattes tasted watered down, the barista didn't care enough to properly steam the milk and the coffee was just really bad... the restaurant also smelled like the sewer. I would stay away and go elsewhere.

What Do You Get For 22.00? One Ice Coffee Cold latte....when I ordered a hot Coffee One Luke Warm Chai Latte.....when we ordered hot Chai One hard, stale Croissant..for 4.95..had to throw it away One Stale Almond and Nut pastry..for 4,95..had to throw it away One Surly cashier who appeared to be least interested. A closed Kitchen..with no Bagels. Never, Never, go to this place..its a rip off.

Was very excited to try this place since the pictures of the food look fantastic! When I got there i was told that they're kitchen was closed to I thought I got there too late and asked what time does it close the guy up front said it's been closed due to some "stuffing." So if you're visiting this place because your hungry go elsewhere they only serve coffee here. I guess I should've read their reviews before going.
