Great location. I've gone to many ramen places and most of them have extremely bland veggie ramen. It's gotten to the point that I only eat ramen from Ramenhood. But now I can add Harumama to the list!! The Garden Party Ramen is delicious! Tasty combination of veggies with a veggie broth that actually has flavor! I also had the polar bear buns that's filled with egg custard. They're so soft and the perfect amount of sweetness! I am definitely coming back for more

Honestly, this place is overhyped. I have been to Harumama so many times and each leaves me disappointed. The character buns are adorable and the menu seems to have something for everyone. Even still, these simply do not carry for the mediocre food and service. Food From all my experiences, these are the dishes that I remember eating, though I have tried more ...One common trend at Harumama is that many dishes can be found elsewhere for both better price and taste. Crispy Karb Wontons - one of their better dishes. Has a nice crunch and is stuffed well. (7.5/10) Spicy tuna roll - very mid. It is not very spicy and sushi rice was bland. (6/10) Power protein Poke- It was small and was not the freshest or tastiest. Felt like it was thrown together with little thought. (5/10) Flying Pig Ramen- super weak soup base flavor. The pork topping was alright. (5/10) High Noon- soup base had no flavor, and the chicken was very dry. (4/10) Fat Duck Ramen- super weak soup base flavor. Duck also was flavorless and dry. (3/10) Creamy Truffle Udon- Smelled like truffle but didn't taste like it. The udon had a very mild garlic flavor and that's it. (5/10) Character Buns- I have tried a variety of the buns, and they are all relatively the same. The buns are really only there for the aesthetic. The filling inside is usually scant and it mostly tastes like the dough. (6/10) The service here is usually not good because they seem to misallocate their workers. The servers seemed to be overworked, while other positions seem to be idle. The last time I went here on a weekday the wait plus service totaled 3+ hours.

Views, food, service - excellent everything, Highly recommend visiting during the early afternoon to enhance your chances of sitting by the ocean view.

I truly loved it. The cow buns were cute and nice. The rest I don't remember, but when I'm back, I'll be back baby!

It was such a beautiful day in La Jolla. Drove down from OC to meet up for lunch with family from Florida that were staying in SD. Not a fan of this location. Beautiful view - that's all it had to offer. Food not that great here for some weird reason. It didn't taste the same as the one on Little Italy SD downtown. No fountain soda, no beer, no cocktail. This location was having a bad day for sure! Under staff, long wait! Staff are all VERY nice, poor them, running around like headless chicken. Hopefully it's just one of those days...

Really poor service. Long waiting times and average quality food describes the experience. They bring food in just any order without regards for the sequence. Appetizers last, main course first, salads last etc. The only good thing is the restaurant views only if you get a seat by the window. May nit return back again

The views are amazing. If you can sang a seat by the windows, it's totally worth it. Service was good. Coty answered all questions we had. I wished I'd ordered more since the menu has something for everyone but I didn't want to go too ham. The character buns are cute. The carnitas bao bao was really good. Duck fat ramen was okay. I'm glad I tried it but next time will probably go with flying pig which is more traditional. Got the Tokyo peach and sunset. If you like sweet drinks get the Tokyo peach. I'd come back in a heartbeat

Delicious vegan ramen, tasty rolls and the veggie tempura was great! I came here once a few years ago and remember the service being really good. Unfortunately I came back a few weeks ago and it (the service) was kinda lacking. Food was still good, but they forgot our dipping sauce with our tempura, never brought out a drink we ordered, seems like they forgot about us.

The food there was amazing and fairly priced but the reason it's a 4 star for me was because of the poor service.

Today was the 3rd or 4th time that we came here for lunch. Our kids choose it when we're down visiting them. Today was for our son's birthday. Pros: Located in beautiful downtown La Jolla, on Prospect. Beautiful ocean view from just about any area of the restaurant, especially--for parties of 4 or less, the window booths. The food is good. Our party had teriyaki chicken, poke bowl, sushi rolls, and nigari. Fair choice of beer. My son liked his Cuban Mojito. Cons: Par for the course in downtown La Jolla is the parking, always a premium. I usually opt for a parking garage, about $15. I like to avoid the parking drama for the free spots. The service here is subpar. They even have a sign at the entrance apologizing for the extended wait times. And wait you do. Our server, Mariano, seemed like a nice guy, but we hardly saw him. Took about 10 minutes for him to greet us, then once we ordered drinks, it took about 15 minutes to get them. Our food came faster, but not from Mariano. Some poor guy was running the food, and he looked like he was hustling. Even to pay the bill, it was a wait. I ended up going to the front, but they still made me wait for Mariano. It wasn't that he wasn't doing his job, I think that they are understaffed. For a nice restaurant, not good. I'm a 20% tipper, but not for this slow service. Still, if you're not in a hurry, the ambience and the food is very good. I imagine we'll be back.

From food to views, this location is great! When it's not too foggy, you have a view of the ocean and seals on the rocks below. The ramen was reasonably priced and a good portion, although could have used a few more veggies per serving. The character buns are an absolute must - adorable and delicious. The polar bear buns had a cooked egg cream inside and come in a pair of two, perfect for sharing!

The ambiance and layout of this place is great as is the service which is why I rated it 1 star. The items we tried were: -Crispy pork belly -Blue fin and screaming yellow tail carpaccio -Shishito peppers -Bunny buns Honestly besides the Bunny buns, hard to mess up Nutella with the stale-ish bun, the rest of the food was incredibly mediocre and I'm not a picky person. The crispy pork belly was more chewy than crispy with searing on one side and sweet soy glaze that tasted more like teriyaki. The blue fin truffle tasted more oily and it had a very fishy taste. The yellow tail was extremely oily and the flavors really overpowered the taste of the yellow tail itself. Both carpaccios were warm too, no searing either, just this weird warmth. We had to ask if that was normal because warm sushi is not a good sign obviously being raw fish. The warmth definitely made the dish discomforting to eat. The shishito peppers had the right idea but they were way too spicy! I think it was the coating but it was way too much and overpowering. Would not return here again for anything besides a picture of the view.

Came here in a Wednesday for dinner. They do not take reservations. We went around 7 pm and had to wait 30 minutes for a table. They will put you on the waitlist and text you when your table is ready. The host at the front was so nice!! Server was really good! Super friendly. Food - overall the food was good. Really liked the yellow tail sashimi! The buns were alright. The cow one was tasty but the pig one felt kind of dry. Parking is on the street and can be challenging during peak hours!

The Fat Duck ramen was the shizz!! I'm used to getting char siu in my ramen but DUCK char siu was out of this world. The tonkotsu broth was super flavorful without being overly salty. The boyfriend ordered the High Noon ramen, which had chicken char siu, but he kept trying to eat from my bowl. Only showed that my ramen was better than his! The character buns were cute and yummy (we got the polar bear egg custard ones) but definitely overpriced. Not sure if we'd want to try the others?
