We went there with friends, and enjoyed our dinner very much. We liked the location in La Jolla, and were able to sit at a table with an ocean view. The food was tasty and well prepared. The service was friendly. We had a great time.

Came for a business dinner and was able to share an array of appetizers. They were all good but nothing was a "wow". The shrimps with the guac was fresh and well seasoned. We really liked the fresh chips too. I ordered the mahi mahi which came with a pesto couscous. Fish was alright, but something tasted off with the pesto - I wonder if it's because it was nut free. Overall, not a bad option in La Jolla but also won't be my first choice in the area.

The good: Great location, right by the water, parks, and shops. Plenty of Mediterranean options to choose from, but we went the classic gyro. The pita was soft, the gyro meat was flavorful, and it was loaded with sauce and feta. Service was friendly and attentive. The not-so-good: Expensive, but that's also the area in general. Portion sizes were a little on the smaller side. They didn't have lamb for the gyro meat, so we went with beef.Food/drink: 8/10Atmosphere: 8/10Service: 9/10

The view was magnificent. The food was just ok and service was good. Friend and I had lunch here on a weekday late summer and it wasn't busy so they sat us on the corner table where we enjoyed the most amazing view overlooking La Jolla Cove.

We ate inside because it was threatening rain. Still had an ocean view. Such friendly, efficient service. And the food was delicious.

A great place for shareable plates and entrees. Love their octopus - not everyone does it as well as the team here. A great place for a date night or a meal with friends. Nice location and views.
We didn't actually dine here last night but we have dined here before. Last night, we were seated and virtually ignored. Our server did come by once and when we ordered drinks, he seemed confused and told us they didn't have them, despite us seeing them on the menu. (He didn't say they were out; but that they didn't have those drinks at all.) Other customers were seated and we watched as the hostess repeatedly and rudely told them she wasn't their server. That might have been understandable if the customers were bothering her but it seemed unprompted. Their server did appear and took their order before our server reappeared. So we left. The food is only okay (judging from what we've had before). So it wasn't worth suffering through the poor service to get it.

Strange experience for La Jolla… walked through the bustling cove to get to Olive and Basil. The restaurant was empty, and the top dining room floor smelled bathroom; albeit clean. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, but one of the staff members (I think a busser) seemed high on drugs. She left to replace a totally flat Diet Coke, and never returned. Food was fine, but will not be returning.
