Decent but not amazing. we were expecting an “unassuming” low key joint per the google maps description, but it looks like the restaurant changed names and potentially decor so it’s just another bougie la jolla restaurant. We got the golden moon appetizer - don’t get that- it was trader joe’s frozen aisle level of texture and flavor. i was expecting a crispy flaky bigger buttery pastry. barely any filling inside!I got the larb chicken salad and my friend got the pan and curry. Both were good.Ended with the FBI dessert and welll….it didn’t taste as good as the description, mostly cuz why wrap the banana in egg roll skins instead of just tempura batter???

Clean and nice simple decor. Good food. Started with lemongrass tofu soup and fried calamari. Then pad thai, yellow curry, fried fish with tamarind sauce and spicy chicken mince and bean dish which had a very unique name. Everything was flavorful. Quantity was good too as we did family style and had left overs too. Servers were pleasant and service was prompt too. There were no fortune cookies which was

The food is incredible - a bit expensive for Thai but that's what you get for it being in the heart of La Jolla. I always get take-out, so this time I decided to dine-in. It' was unfortunate that the management had their only 2 servers that Saturday night do hosting, take-outs, expo, AND serve. As a former server I understand how hard it is to deal with all of those roles when understaffed. You aren't able to focus on your tables as much as you would like to. We had an entire entree forgotten about, and only saw our server twice- to take our order and check us out. Although understaffed and a tad inattentive, our server was incredibly nice. Food was great but a tad overpriced. Will definitely come back for takeout.!

My family and i have been eating here for years and it is our favorite place to eat in La Jolla. Our favorites include the spicy basil noodles, Tom Kha, and pad Thai noodles. We have tried all of the Thai places in La Jolla and nothing beats spice and rice!! Could not recommend more :)

A detour on the highway led me to pass through the village of La Jolla on the way home. I decided to try this Thai eatery on Girard Ave. Parking spaces were plentiful nearby. There was a nice looking front patio that was covered by the awning of the suite. It was completely empty though as all the seated parties had elected to sit inside. I decided to join them rather than risk being ignored by the waitstaff if I was sitting outside all alone. The interior decor was fairly traditional for a Thai restaurant, but this place was more reserved. A two-page menu with lots of selections was handed to me as I was seated. I liked how they divided the starters on the front page into two sections... Sweet and Spicy. That removed any guessing on the flavor profile of an appetizer. I picked the Tod Mun Pla which was four lightly fried fish cakes served with cucumber chutney. The sweet sauce was watery, but it did provide a nice contrast to the fish. A peanut vinaigrette was also supposed to be included, however my serving did not have this. The Crab Pad Thai was my entreé choice. 'Highly Recommended' was listed in parenthesis next to this dish. Real crab meat was mixed with Thai linguini noodles sautéed with egg, tofu, crushed peanuts, scallion, and bean sprouts. The noodles were much thinner than what I have been accustomed so the use of the word linguini was appropriate. I did select mild for the spiciness level and in this case, it made the flavor rather bland. For checking in, a Thai iced tea was offered as a complimentary drink. The amount of ice was heavy though. The service from the waitress was pleasant and efficient. I gave a 3.5 star rating for my dinner at Spice & Rice Thai Kitchen.

Very elegant place for a Thai Restaurant. Came here for lunch, the music is very relaxing and the complimentary signature thai drink.

Delighted with our five-star experience at the Thai restaurant! The lunch special, featuring prompt service and scrumptious pad Thai and drunken noodles, exceeded expectations. The outdoor section was a plus for our puppy, and the pristine decor with abundant orchids enhanced the lovely ambiance. We'll surely return to savor more delightful dishes!

The food here is amazing! Perfect amount of spices. You need to come during lunch and try the chicken noodle soup, which is full of flavor. Some of the best drunken noodles I've ever had! Highly recommended!

We arrived at opening time. The food was good but not fantastic. My GF sent her dish back (shrimp in Lobster curry) because it wasn't very flavorful and got something else. I ordered the spicy chili fish with mushroom, peppers and green onions but there were no mushrooms or green onions in the dish. Service was slow at best. I think they are understaffed. My guess is they spend more time catering to takeout orders than their in-person customers. The ambiance is nice. I like the fountain.
