“This place is a gem their croissants are so good. Ive also tried their baguettes and some other pastries they are also really good. Their parking situation is not the best, meter parking by park smart inc. which is a shady company. You will get ticketed even if you paid. I got ticketed with minutes left on the meter and the disputing process is impossible. It's sad this parking company makes it so hard to support local businesses.“

It took me a while to find someone to make that cake and Jaleh was very helpful, she made the cake in short amount of time and was excellent on letting me know when to pick it up and special instructions. “We really enjoy going to the Rising Loafer. We go there frequently on the weekends for the eggs Florentine and veggie omelet. They have the best hollandaise sauce, even better than I can make myself. It's a very simple place with an outdoor patio right by Trader Joe's and a very nice bookstore. The service is good and the owners are pleasant and friendly. We've had plenty of good experiences here and recommend it.“

“Fournee often has a very long line, but some random weekend mornings, there's no line...and you should definitely jump on the opportunity! The line can be quite long, around the corner which can be quite a wait. My favorites are the cheese bread, croissant, chocolate croissant and ham and cheese croissant....but there are also tons of other delicious goodies there; I just have to stop myself from ordering everything. They also have a bunch of really delicious desserts in the front case which I haven't had a chance to try.“

“Donuts are definitely the best in town! Cute lil dog friendly place in the Laurel/Allendale district. There was an employee who gushed over my frenchie while we were there. Always friendly service. If you haven't had a cronut you will not regret the decision. My favorite is the salted caramel! This delicious box plus a latte for around $30 including a generous tip. I just love this place!“

“I finally got to try Bake Sum! The bakery was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Because of the small standing room, it was sort of hard to tell who was waiting on their order and who was still in line. They also offer few gift items along the wall, including Taiwanese chocolates, matcha powder, greeting cards, and cute shopping bags just to name a few that I saw. There is no seating, but luckily Lake Merritt is close by, and the perfect spot for a picnic. On a Saturday you might also finding seat at the Farmer's Market a block away. We tried the jasmine milk bun, pandan milk bun, ube cookie, and a coffee. It was around 11:30am on a Saturday and they were already low on inventory (when I got to the front I hear them say they JUST ran out of sesame cookies and I ordered one of the last jasmine milk buns). Of everything I tried I liked the jasmine milk bun the most, it was quite fragrant (just the way I like my jasmine flavored things)! These milk buns reminded me of my favorite melon milk buns that I had in Japan. I have no idea if they make them here...but that would be a dream to have that right here in the neighborhood! I will definitely plan on coming earlier next time so I have more of a selection to choose from.“

“Small cute Bakeshop !! This was my first stop right after I was discharged from the hospital. I heard about the wonderful treats and so glad a made it before they closed ! “I ordered a birthday cake for my 3 year old from here and I wish I had known about this place sooner. The design was SPOT on, executed perfectly, the cake itself was maybe the best cake I’ve ever had (and I do not like cake), the frosting was not too sweet, and the service was great.I have never seen my family and friends eat cake like this before. The staff is incredibly friendly and respectful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.Their Persian Sangak bread is lovely, with a perfect balance of softness and crunch. I also enjoyed their Taftoon bread, which was delicious. The Haleem I ordered was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. I was able to order and get the Cheesecake delivered to my friend as a surprise for his Birthday. I called several places in Oakland, California and the surrounding area trying to get him a cheesecake for his birthday and Charles was the only one willing to make it happen. My best friend was so surprised by it. My friend was so surprised by how big thick and heavy the cheesecake was. He said it was one of the most creamiest, thick, and mouth watering cheesecake he has ever tasted before. And I have bought him a cheesecake for years from many different places. I’m obsessed with their focaccia breads (marinara is out of the world), their pizzas are personally my favourite in berkeley and the chocolate croissant is to die for. It had a passion fruit puree, and the sweet, tangy, acidity balanced perfectly with the rich flavors and delicious frosting of the rest of the cake. It was intricate, delicious, and I've never wanted leftover cake more in my life. Sadly, only one slice survived the night, many people went for seconds.Also, the bread is fantastic. A delicious herb focaccia with a soft interior (perfect with Kerrygold butter), nice crust with sea salt. Ridiculously good bread. Also got a brioche cinnamon roll today, cinnabon can eat their heart out. The owner was super nice too, and I can't wait to try more of her creations. “My family stumbled upon this little cupcake shop in Berkeley while on a day trip. There is a good assortment of decadent cupcakes to be had. We tried two (cookies and cream and the red velvet )and they were magnificent! I highly recommend! The shop is small with no sit down options so you must take your treats to go.“

“There is another starbread location in pittsburg ca. I personally like this location more than the pittsburg one. Location: the location is in a shopping plaza near sunvalley mall and diablo Valley College. The same plaza with happy lemon. Parking is easy to find in the area. Ambiance: smell of Filipino seniorita bread and baked goods fill the space. However, there is no chairs and tables. It only has space for the tables and chairs. Food: you don't need to travel to Hawaii to eat a good masala. Starbread has a variety of deserts like seniorita bread, mochi donuts, Filipino style donuts like bichu bichu. And masalas. Credit card is accepted if the order is more than 7 dollars. The ube msalas is delicious. Overall, come to this place if you miss Hawaii and want to Try filipino baked goods for a reasonable price.“

The desserts, particularly the cookies and cupcakes are so good you would never know the difference between non-gluten free items (I say this as someone who eats non gluten free items all the time). I had their Basque cheesecake and it's one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. “We tried this bakery for the first time last week. The owner was really nice and friendly. We have a daughter and son in law that are vegan. We purchased vegan rice crispie treats and brownies. My son in law said the brownies were the best he has ever had and everyone loved the vegan rice crispie treats. I also purchased a few non vegan Oatmeal raisin cookies which I just loved. We also purchased raspberry jammies MAJOR YUMMY.... they had other fruit but we love raspberry. We had everything to go so I did not eat anything there. The bakery was very clean and well managed. I now have a great go to place for vegan and non vegan pastries and cookies.“

“This place has absolutely delicious birria tacos and consomé. This has been the only thing I've ordered from their menu (there's no other place I know of near me that serves these tacos) but I would also like to try their birria quesadillas. They're listed on the menu as "red tacos" and are about $15 for 3 tacos and the consomé is a separate extra cost. When it comes out fresh, the tacos are super cheesy and yummy. The building is very spacious and doesn't get too busy, so I always get to grab a table. In the middle of the restaurant, they display their desserts and pastries such as flan and alfajores. The restaurant is located in the Park and Shop surrounded by a lot of different Asian cuisines, dessert shops, and a grocery store. If you try parking close to the restaurant, that is the area that is the most congested, we always park in the back of the building.“

We honestly probably would have missed it if we didn't overhear someone walking near us across the street asking if they still had strawberry cheesecake. They had such a selection of items but because the products are inside the building on display while the clerks are outside on the sidewalk, it is a bit hard to see how their items look like and therefore a little bit difficult to choose from. The strawberry shortcake was delicious, even though it was super sweet. It was rich but had great flavors.“

“This place is like your local bakery in Oakland! There's a good variety of things to choose from and the cashiers there are super friendly and helpful. I only came here to get one thing, and it was this round foccacia that I ordered. Foccacia is one of my favorite breads and this one stood out to me the most. It was dense but had a good chew and I like the toppings that were added on top of this. If only there was a toaster or microwave, I would of loved to try this warmed up.“

I feel they should open the space and give the customers more room to look at the product instead of being shoulder to shoulder trying to grab what they want. “My daughter and I were hankering for a little bit of ice cream after lunch and walked around the corner and there was Tucker's ice cream. It was a little harder to find and I thought because the front door is in a bit from the street. Entering there was a typical sour milk smell, but we know that's why it is with ice cream. The entry, and the premises is very nice, and the scooper was a friendly fellow. They also serve other things besides ice cream. We shared a double scoop of coffee, brittle, and Heath crunch. The coffee was really good but the Heath bar crunch was a lot more ice cream and not very many Heath bar bits. The double scoop with tip came out to nine dollars. We sat and ate our ice cream. The ice cream is really creamy.“

I bought 3 pies & OMG the lemon cheese is soooo good like something you'd taste in a Michelin rated restaurant & the sweet potato pie is also very very good I should've bought more perfectly sized & priced but more so the delicious fresh taste!
