The atmosphere is decent enough, good waiting space for pick up orders, but the dining area could use a little reorganizing. It's kind of difficult getting by seated tables trying to refill a drink or use the restroom. “Best taco shop in lakeside and Santee! I have gotten the California burrito and machaca plate the most there. If you go to their website you can order online for pick up which is super convenient (no drive through).
I give the atmosphere a 3 star because there are a lot of homeless in this shopping center and it just looks very old.”

“Pete’s doesn’t disappoint. Great fast service, incredible flavor and cheap prices for the quality you get. Also, fishing tip… I ordered too much food and we had about half a coney dog left from my nephew (not sure how with how great they tasted but we ate too much) we used it for bait and instantly got hit when the whole group was skunked all day. Foodie approved, fish certified with regret after eating the deliciousness and being hooked.”

“Best hidden gem in Lakeside (or wherever it is)!!! This little truck has the very best grilled shrimp burritos and fish tacos EVER. We have lived in East County for over 25 years and sampled every grilled shrimp burrito and fish taco in a 15 mile radius. Promise- you will not be disappointed. We just had a party of 20 people who mostly just ordered the grilled shrimp burrito (ordered the day before) and they all loved it. It's a big burrito, so we always cut it in half and eat the other half for lunch.... And it's good COLD like a sandwich the next day. Sounds weird but it's literally just as good cold. We also got about 4 shrimp ceviche to share around. That’s good too. Oh and don't forget the chipotle mayo and green sauce! It is our Friday night regular stop on the way home after a busy week.Ambiance is just a parking lot but the little Hispanic market there also has the best no-name brand tortillla chips and fresh tortillas. So we shop while we wait for our food. So that's why we also line the ambiance!”

“This is a great little restaurant in Lakeside! They have a drive thru which seems to be the popular option with most, but they also have a window you can walk up too as well with a large parking lot directly adjacent with a bonus of some shady parking spots! They've got some outdoor diner style tables right outside if you want to eat there, but no indoor spaces so plan accordingly. The staff are wonderful and you can definitely find something you'll enjoy on their extensive menu. Plenty of options available so you'll be able to find something to enjoy regardless of dietary restrictions. They're super fast too if you're in a rush! I get food here pretty regularly and I've never waited more than a few minutes for it! And don't forget to enjoy some horchata with your meal, it's delicious!

Vegetarian options: Plenty of dishes without meat and you can also just ask them to leave it out if you like how a meat dish sounds. Everything is very flavorful and fresh so you can definitely find something you'll like!

Parking: There is a small lot just for the restaurant that I've never had trouble finding a space in, and if that's full it's right next to some other businesses with large lots. You'll never have trouble finding parking.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly! They won't make the food too spicy and they're quick so you won't have to entertain hungry kids for long. There is always plenty of outdoor space at the available tables to park your kids at and pull up strollers if needed. The parking lot is never crowded so you don't have to worry about getting kids in and out of a car in a tight parking space either.”
