The city of Lakewood is hosting a LeadHer series during the month of March and I signed up to attend "Behind the Scenes of Success"; a tour of women-owned Lakewood businesses. Arlae Chip and her husband own Nostalgia Gorditos. Although this was a private event, the owners and staff were super kind and friendly. There was nothing I tasted that I did not like. I went to have lunch and I only had $10 cash (they don't take Apple Pay) and eventhough I left no tip after ordering, the lady that took my order offered me some chips, which were very fresh and crunchy. The salsa bar is also very and good tasting, they make their own jalapeno/carrot pickles & red onions too. The pork in red sauce & salsa verde egg gorditas were yummy! Absolutely love this place! My favorite dish has to be the chilaquiles plate with green salsa, with a side of chicharrón en salsa verde. The service has always been great and friendly. Ohhh and their Gorditas are life!! So full of flavor each and every time you take a bite. You will not be disappointed with whatever protein you decide to add to your Gordita.
