“As someone who has eaten Middle Eastern food my entire life thus far, AH, can tell you that I have become quite picky about my falafels, my hummus, the spices, the bread, the sauces, the freshness of the produce, etc. etc.I can also tell you that walking into this restaurant, I immediately started to get so hungry, which really doesn’t ever happen, as lately the M.E spots I’ve tried have been good, but not as DROOL WORTHY! and the longer I waited to eat the more it was driving me crazy lolHonestly, the scent in the air was so wonderful. You could smell the sumac, the parsley, the herbs and spices in the air.( Here’s a little secret that I’ve learned from knowing a lot of restaurant owners and their practices- too many restaurants do not use real spices and herbs. They just use food coloring and cheap oils.too many restaurants tell me that they would not eat the food that they serve to others in their restaurants! )that is not the case here This is real food. This is the real deal.MA.I appreciate the vegan tzatziki, the lentilSoup, spicy hummus, salad, the best falafelsIf my family didn’t finish everything so fast I could’ve probably tried more food lol!The owner of this location is some sort of angel. I am telling you the amount of unselfish giving he does to the community is unparalleled! My reviews are always honest and cruelty free.Yafa in Livermore is the spot!“
“I recently took friends out to lunch at Demitri's Taverna in downtown Livermorebased on its high rating. Arriving when it opened, we were the only guests. "Terry" (a 5 year veteran, female) greeted us with a couple of funny comments. I then knew we were in for a good time and meal! We were not disappointed. The menu was extensive. She knew it by heart, and joyfully fielded questions. I noticed she didn't write down our order. However, she recited precisely what all 4 of us had ordered. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. One of our party dropped a fork. Much to my surprise, Terry approached our table from a distance and said, "That sounded like a fork"! She described Demitri himself as the perfect restaurant owner: There all the time, highly skilled and practiced in all tasks from bussing tables to cooking to running the bar. I was fortunate to meet him briefly. He wasn't surprised to hear of Terry's extraordinary gifts waiting on tables. I shared that his restaurant was rated #4 out of 144 in greater Livermore. He brushed aside this remarkable achievement by saying all he cared about was to provide his customers with a memorable dining experience. May Demitri and Terry's joyfully successful restaurant always delight its fortunate patrons in charming Livermore!“
“We decided to try this place today for the first time. We loved it! The service was great, people was friendly, and very helpful. We took the food to-go. The food was delicious, the garlic sauce they put on the salad for the bowls is amazing. The chicken was moist and the fries was delicious. I will definitely coming back to try other things. Forgot to take pictures of the food unfortunately.“
“I've been here several times and always leave happy. My husband got the Greek salad with a shrimp kebab for the first time. He loved it! I got the lamb skewer plate, again. It's been my go to! Friendly waiter and hostess. Can't wait to go back!“
“A delightful Greek dining experience! The indoor and outdoor seating places offer unique takes, both very pleasant. The tsatziki appetizer was thicker than the usual sauce and quite tasty. We also had some interesting cocktails, and the lamb shank was absolutely perfectly made. Would definitely return!“
“The staff were very friendly! The food was also very good! I am not qualified to rate Greek food, but my review is in favor of it. I got a lamb gyro, which was well-cooked, and have a great amount of meat in it. Plus the other fillings, like the tomato, the yogurt, and whatnot, accompanied it very well. Overall, it was a good, big gyro, so worth the money.I was only there for pick-up, but the restaurant is nice, wide, modern, and has a patio if you want to enjoy outside.“
“Good falafel sandwich. The falafels were soft on inside and crispy on outside. Their veggie pita sandwich had perfectly roasted veggies. The platter is pretty good size. I just felt that some spice/sauce was missing from the taste. I would have to be partial and real though and state that being from south bay, I have eaten better. The place was neat and had smple sitting space both inside and outside. The staff was polite and patient.“
