Hate to see this Sushi place go away. They had a tasty sushi with reasonable prices but the owner decided to switch to Korean food. Hope it will be as good as the Sushi and more. BTW< excellent downtown location with extra parking.

My review is based solely on my takeout experience with Kawa. My daughter discovered this place, and normally just gets takeout for us. I went for the first time last night! Very busy but only 30mins to get my walk-in order. Sashimi continues to be good fish & generous portions. Garlic edamame is a favorite! Rolls were delicious & fresh. Staff were courteous and friendly! Parking might be tricky downtown during busy times. Highly recommend Kawa! I will post another review when I can actually eat in.

The staff went above and beyond! I ordered something they said they didn't have for the day but put something similar together anyway. Truly appreciate them going the extra mile all while being very sweet and attentive. Thank you for the yosenabe kawa.

Sushi is ok here.... I would say the highlight was the bento box, it's Huge! Really good value and portions. On the downside the restaurant needs a deep clean.

Mediocre Japanese food. My family and I used to come here years ago when the original owners were still running the place and it was great. However, as many other people have mentioned, the change of ownership has resulted in a lack of quality that kawa sushi used to have back in the day. The service was alright, they attended to us just fine, but I felt a bit awkward with how the managers treated their wait staff, seemed a bit harsh and degrading. The food was overall disappointing, I ordered a bento box with bbq short ribs and tempura and it came out with kimchi?? why there's kimchi at a japanese restaurant is beyond me but it wasn't even good kimchi at that. bbq short ribs were weirdly soft and everything was mediocre. Sadly, I would not recommend this establishment.

We first came here for their lunch special. The food was good and the portion is huge! The service was great. Had little chat with the owner and the waitress they were very friendly. Last time we went there with my husband and 2 friends of ours. The service were very good, the portion is great, the taste is great. Definitely coming back ❤️

This place is such a treat! Must try the Bruce Lee roll, crazy monkey, or special spider roll. (Pictured) The service here is so great, they make you feel welcomed and food comes out in a timely manner. I dropped by on a whim, because I was in the area. I will definitely be returning.
Very good sushi. Staff were nice. A little upset, because they advertise all you can eat sushi, but say that they have discontinued it. They are a little pricey also.I would go back as a special treat.

It used to be one of our lunch spots. Changed owner in 2022. The taste and flavor are not the same. So we guessed the chef is no longer there as well.

Whoa. Roaches. Weird vibe. Just don't go. Too many better options! I went with a friend to grab a quick roll and drink, and wow, weird AF. Sat at the sushi bar. Ordered a couple rolls and a cocktail. The server said "luckily the bartender is here. She's a professional." Okay, kind of weird but ehh. Asks if we want soup and salad. We say, no. She brings it anyway. Okay, kind of weird but ehh. The sushi was fine. No blue fin, but the albacore and unagi were decent. After dinner, we see a cockroach go up the sushi bar. I tell the chefs; they take a quick look and sigh. No. No. No. Very spacious though!
