Went here for the first time and had a great experience. The quality of the sushi and artistic touch was phenomenal. Mark is a very talented chef who pays close attention to detail. We had great service as well. I'm so happy we discovered this little hidden gem!

The sushi was fresh. I've eaten (or attempted) 3 times. The first time I was turned away because they had run out of rice. The second time, the service was super slow. The third time it was takeout. After ordering, we said we would return at the time the restaurant quoted. We took additional time before returning. But when we arrived our order wasn't ready and they said it was because they needed to cook the tempura shrimp portion of one of the rolls. We had ordered 2 rolls and it had already been 45 minutes. We then ended up waiting an additional 10-15 minutes. It was not during dinner or lunch rush. The restaurant wasn't full. When we left, we didn't check our order because of our frustration with the time. So I guess that part is partly on us for verifying the order was correct. However, one of the two rolls were incorrect
The food is consistently good, and the service is always friendly.

We drove in from out of town and got here over half an hour before they closed for lunch. After ten minutes of standing at the front we were finally greeted and told (with still even over half an hour left before they closed at this point) that they would not seat us. The waiteess clearly did not want to be there and was really rude and it was wild that with 45 minutes to close for lunch they still wouldn't great us or serve us and couldn't even be polite enough to tell us. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Great food, service and atmosphere! I have never been disappointed in the many years going here. The edamame is great and their creamy hamachi roll is my go-to. Mark is great behind the bar and loves a good beer! Kung Pai!

I’m a frequent diner at Dong Hae, but we decided to give this place a try, on my first dinner out after knee surgery. Yelp shows they close at 9:00 pm. We arrived at 8:20 pm. I pushed my walker across the big parking lot, and there was a large table of people inside. We were greeted with an “I’m sorry , we decided to close early tonight.” I asked if it was because they were busy and she said “yes.” Shame on them! That’s a bad business practice. Now we are on our way to Sake. Umami, I eat out a lot but won’t be back!

Tried this place for the first time, ordered food to go. California roll was good. Was not able to order kids dinner plate since it was to go. Called in order at 4:55PM picked up food at 6PM and still had to wait because food was not ready.
