“Came on a Sunday evening. Parking was ample. I'm sure if you come during lunch, it might be packed since it's next to Costco. Got seated right away, we asked for a booth. Only two both FYI. Since it's purpose is to sit around the revolving bar. Had Spicy Shoyu Ramen, it had good flavor. Just wish the temperature was hotter. Next time, I'll asked to not include the cabbage. Didn't realize it had it. Friend wanted Teriyaki Chicken, so he ordered a bento box. He enjoyed it. Dark meat chicken. He did comment the portion was on the smaller side of what he normally gets from other places. Had a couple usually sushi and rolls from the revolving belt. It was fun. Left with our bellies happy. Would I come back, yes.“
“We enjoyed most of the sushi we ordered as they all seemed fresh and enjoyed some unique combos. Only thing it was a little pricey, but we would rather have quality sushi once in a while. Would come back again!Would have appreciated less TVs as there were 3 and I like going to places where my little one would focus more on his meal.Yellowtail sashimi -was melt in your mouth succulent.Albacore carpachio- had jalapeno and another spicy seasoning on it. Pretty tasty if you're ok w spicy.Classic combo- good, nothing special. Ordered it for a kid.Mango salmon- loved the ratio of salmon to mango and appreciated that the mango was ripe.Bamboo roll- we liked that everything stayed together easily without falling apart considering it was in soy paper. A good combo of fish. For more on IG: @grace.loves.adventures“
“Great quality, friendly atmosphere, definitely going to be a regular!A hidden gem in Garden Grove. Japanese owned omakase that focuses on seasonal offerings. Ben and Ayako make you feel welcome once you walk in those doors. The menu is hand written and you can see the focus and care that Ben puts with each piece of nigiri. If you want to come and get a bite, make sure you make your reservations at least 2 weeks in advance.“
“The H S Express Delivered, this sushi spot is nothing fancy but is low-key with dynamite fresh flavor and a nice selection of sashimi, sushi, rolls, and a few other goodies to be found at sushi restaurants. The decor is simple, and the service is good ,and the food is very fresh. This is a very small establishment with 5 tables and 2 seats at the bar, still brand new to the neighborhood . I noticed a lot of takeout and a steady flow of patrons to this spot, but I believe that will change when they find out how good this place is. Also, there are only two sushi chefs, so relax and enjoy the time. There is no alcohol served here, so don't let that spoil your experience here. You did come for the Hamachi experience. See you tomorrow ?“
“Certainly, here's a draft for your review:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"Sushi Nikkei in Bixby Knolls truly stands out as a top-tier dining experience. While the food is undeniably fantastic, what truly sets this restaurant apart is the impeccable service. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your meal is nothing short of exceptional. The sushi selection is diverse and delicious, showcasing a perfect blend of traditional Japanese flavors with innovative twists. Each dish is beautifully presented and bursting with freshness. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or new to Nikkei cuisine, this restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary journey. I highly recommend Sushi Nikkei for an unparalleled dining experience that exceeds expectations in both food quality and service."“
“First visit here. Absolutely loved it. The albacore sashimi should really be renamed a carpaccio. Thinly sliced premium seared albacore with a tangy delicious ponzu sauce. With more than 10 slices, it's the perfect delicacy to share with someone special. Everything else here was super fresh and tasty. The ambience is dark & comfy and the customer service was friendly, quick & efficient. I found my new favorite spot for sushi.“
“It's giving Michelin star... I come here about once a week and the fish never fails! Always fresh and the customer service is amazing. Wendy is my absolute favorite. Only bummer is that they don't open until 5 PM even on the weekends. Reservations recommended!“
“Definitely a MUST TRY for hand roll lovers!!! Everything we tried was SO good! We got the 7 roll set and it was yummy. Also tried their uni handroll, and salmon and toro maki rolls, crispy tuna, garlic edamame, and miso soup and washed it all down with some ube beer. Everything was perfect. The service was also exceptional. Great service from Annie who can sell ice to Eskimos. Really sweet waitress. The hand roll chef was so on top of it like a boss. Handled himself very well while serving a whole bar! Chatted with the manager Kevin for a bit and he was also nice to talk to and shared some good info about all of the sister restaurants in the area. We will be back!“
“The sushi here is to die for!!!! We moved about 45 minutes away and when ever we crave sushi we will make the drive. I have yet to find a sushi restaurant near me that comes even close to Osaka Story! My husband and I make sure we come once a month. My husband love the quality, atmosphere, customer service, and the amazing people that work here. Thank you Reyna and the rest of Osaka story crew!“
“I ordered the Garlic Edamame, Double Crunchy Roll, and Mango Tango. Absolutely everything was delicious. It’s a nice little mom and pop restaurant that you cannot pass up. This was probably one of the best sushi spots I’ve tried in a while!“
“Great quality of food. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. The handrolls are stuffed with chopped fish cubes rather than ground meat, which I love.Premium handrolls are worth trying. The A5 wagyu beef is so fatty and delicious. Uni is fresh and sweet with no weird taste.I also love that they have a wide selection of sides. And they are all delicious. Strongly recommend the edamame and furikake fries.Service is great except that the server forgot about some of our orders. But it’s understandable, we are party of 8 and ordered a bunch of different rolls not sets. They served the missing rolls right away after we mentioned it. Water is filled in time. Payments were settled smoothly(split b/w 4 cards).Parking is easier and right in front of the restaurant. They have outdoor and indoor seatings, which can accommodate a lot more people than the other locations.Overall a nice experience. Would recommend this place and come back when in the area.“
“Came here with my friends after Sake2Me had closed down their waitlist, but honestly I don't regret it one bit. We had a great time here with their service and quality of fish! The AYCE Sushi price here is $42.99 for the regular menu options. I honestly think that's enough choices for that price. Food takes a bit to come out and comes out sporadically. The quality of the fish was enough to make it worth it. We gobbled up every round so quick! I have to come back here whenever I'm craving good sushi in LB.“
“The food is still spectacular I have been coming here since my friend brought me back in 2013. I obviously have my favorites, but I've tried a good majority of the plates and I'm never disappointed. A total of 4 of us came with my 2yr old that fell asleep. Without even asking the staff accommodated us by seating us in the enclosed outdoor area (it's quieter there than inside) and turned on the heater without being asked. Extremely attentive staff checking in on us (we never felt forgotten outside). If you need sushi recommendations we had the Call Me Babe, Earthquake, Dragon Tear, and non spicy garlic edamame all options are delicious.“
“Everything I have ordered has been top notch and when I order I never doubt what I get will be something that will beat my expectations. I love going here when I am looking for a good variety of sushi. I have gotten many of the rolls to share with my family and different combos that really work well together. Also they offer a great selection of extras, and great packaging for very good prices makes it the best place to choose in the area.“
“We recently moved to Lakewood. Normally we have sushi in J-Town or Torrance, but we don't really want to drive too far. We had sushi at a spot in Lakewood a month ago, but it was terrible. A relative recommended this place, and I have to say, I was skeptical. Anyway, we came at around 7:30pm on a Saturday. Parking was not too easy, but luckily we found street parking nearby. The interior is really well done. We could immediately tell that there is major customer loyalty, since I believe it is the owner that greets everyone and there were a lot of regulars. The servers are very friendly and attentive. I was very surprised that they had a great selection of fish (great fish) and even had ankimo (monkfish liver) and natto (fermented soybeans) too. The salmon skin salad also is the best salad I have ever had! We loved everything about this really great place and definitely will be back soon!“
“Tried their Las Vegas Sushi Roll and Jalapeño Poppers with a raspberry iced tea on a weekday mid-day. The Jalapeño Poppers were garnished beautifully with a flower which was lovely! They were fried lightly but the batter was separating from the peppers, but other than that I had no complaints. The Las Vegas sushi roll was good, and the salmon tasted fresh. Overall it was an okay experience!“
“I think we're really starting to like this place. Just the very mention of ramen when we're in the area means we will be stopping in within 24 hours! Joshua at the register was very friendly and attentive making sure to capture our order in a timely manner. The tonkatsu ramen with chicken was on point but I do believe I like their miso ramen even better!!! Stop in and try a few things for yourself their gyoza is life changing. It's gotta be dipped in something a little extra before it hits the table.“
“It's located in the sketchiest of neighborhoods but my God the sushi quality is amazing. Highly recommend. It's a small spot, so don't expect fast service. If you do come here I suggest calling in your order ahead of time so you don't have to wait.“
“Ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was so delicious. Stopped by after some shopping and this place was packed. They sat me down once I walked in and their service was excellent. I received my meal quickly and it was delicious. I will definitely come back again.“
“Diamond in the rough. So excited to have found this place. The food, portions, and pricing are awesome!! Add bonuses it's super clean and the staff is nice. Oh, and the food looks just like their photos. It's crazy how picture perfect it is!“
“Relaxed and informal sushi bar, with standards and some novelties for interest. Table and bar seating. Busy but not crowded. Shares parking with motel.Vegetarian options: Four specialty rolls, edamame, seaweed salad, some standard veggie rolls.“
“I always love coming to Tama Sushi when I’m in town! When I lived around here, it was my go to sushi place. My favorite rolls are the Hey Baby roll and the Deluxe Crunchy roll. I love that they have lots of vegan options as well! ?Vegetarian options: Tons of vegan sushi and appetizers! I have had some and they have delicious vegan rolls“
“This is my go to place when craving ramen and sushi. It is a small place but clean, the food is good, service is fast, and price is reasonable. The owner and staff are very friendly. This place is located in the parking area of Northgate Lincoln and Knott.“
“Loved every single thing we ordered here! The quality of the sushi was seriously melt in your mouth. Parking absolutely sucked, we drove around the blocks multiple times until we came up on street parking behind the alley somewhere. It wasn't terribly busy, got there around 7:30 and was seated in 10 minutes as parties were leaving. The yuzu roll was such an explosion of beautiful flavors combined in your mouth, 10/10 recommend for yellowtail lovers! Ambience was dim, not too noisy and the music was quaint. Would definitely come back to this place next time I'm in the area.“
“My kids and I love Sushi Plus! We found them about 4 years ago, not sure when they had opened but it was a new hidden spot for us, (now I don’t think it’s as hidden, but happy to see them busy). The garlic edamame is ? and all their rolls are delicious. And the staff are awesome, I was in there few days ago picking up an order and it had been awhile since we’ve gone to eat there (had to cut back on spending money on food) but I love that they remember me andand ask about my kids, that just shows howpersonable they are with their customers. “I went here for a business meeting with someone I was meeting for the first time. We both were amazed at the quality of the fish. Just on look alone, it looked like what you would see at a high priced sushi spot. They have 50% nigiri, so salmon is like $3.99 for 2 pieces. Tuna is $4.50 for 2 pieces and the most expensive is Otoro at like $15 for 2 pieces. Typically, a 50% off sushi sign would terrify me, and I would be lying if I said i wasn't skeptical the first time I went here but I assure you, the skepticism will be long gone after you see the sushi hit the table. It tastes incredible and it was so good that after going my first time, I went again 2 more times over the course of the next 2 weeks. This sushi spot is 50 minutes from where u live in Santa Monica and I plan to absolutely return soon. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND“
“Came during on Tuesday Lunch, 1pm.No wait, Seated Immediately!Pleasant atmosphere ?Server was attentive, courteous.Ordered the following:SweetSpicy Chicken KaraAge - Sweet! Juicy ChickenSt.Louis Pork Rib Spicy Miso Ramen - Ribs falls apart from bone, delicious.Potato Shrimp - Delicate & Great Appetizer.Loved the New location in Garden Grove, Please stop by when you can!!*FREE MOCHI ice cream if you share your experience on YELP (you can write unlimited reviews ?*Kid-friendliness: Kids Meal!“
“One of my favorite sushi to go to! Quality of fish and prices are unbeatable. The place gets quite busy so I recommend be there at least half hour before they open for dinner. Staff are friendly. Love Vincent one of the sushi chefs. I come here at least once or twice a month.“
“Went strolling around Seal Beach and decided to find a place to eat. The place looked clean, quiet and inviting so we dined here for lunch. We were greeted with friendly smiles. We sat near the window where you can see people walk by and still be feeling privately seated. I had the salmon teriyaki. It came with salad and miso soup. The salmon's cooked perfectly. Crunchy skin, moist salmon and flavored just right. The salad, though small, was dressed appropriately. The salad dressing very yummy. The miso soup with tofu and seaweed was spot on. Truly not from a packet. My partner ordered the yaki soba. Very reminiscent of our tours in Japan. Brought us back to the little shops of Tokyo. Ate here without the guidance of Yelp and luckily, when I checked on the reviews here, it had five stars. We chose great!“
“The place is very non-descript. You have to park and get out of the car to see the signage. We really enjoyed the momoyama courses. You can tell chef has laid out the courses starting from delicate and incrementally build up to heavier flavor as the course goes on. In addition to the food itself, we enjoyed our conversations with the chefs.IMO. It’s Michelin star experience without the pretenseWe will be back!“
“The serving size is worth the affordable sushi prices compared to other sushi places. The quality might not always be the best, but it hits the spot whenever I'm craving sushi and don't feel like spending more than $20 with their BOGO 50% off deal.“
“Love this local spot. The ramen is so good, love the Spicy Miso especially. It's got good flavor but not too spicy. All the rolls have been yummy too! The vibe is anime which is super cute and casual. Service has always been solid even when they are busy. Have been back several times and it's consistently good!!“
“Found a new go to Sushi Joint!!! Great food. The smell of fish hit me when we walked in, which concerned me initially, but food/fish quality was excellent. Menu requires a magnifying glass, but once you get what you order you'll be more than pleased!!!“
“Prices are very reasonable for such high quality rolls. I was introduced to this place from my aunt and uncle who go regularly and definitely won’t stop going myself.Best Rolls?? drinks? Pretty much everything on their menu. TOP 4 ROLLS HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING:1. Chidori Roll2. Spicy dragon Roll3. Ghost Roll4. Rainbow RollGet there early right when they open to claim a table! They fill up quick and so so SO GLAD they do! The more business the better.“
“Our first time here at Umi's AYCE Sushi and I never had the opportunity to eat at Joe's Sushi so I can't give the comparison review. The best part of lunch was the service. Our server was wonderful. She was very patient and gave a great explanation to the rules of the ayce option. As for the AYCE sushi menu, it was very average. Of the sushi, rolls and appetizers I ordered, there was nothing that stood out as spectacular. Other than the nigiri sushi, everything else had a lot of sauces and filled with a lot of spicy tuna or imitation crab. For the $33.99 price during lunch, I don't think I fully got my monies worth. During the time we went wasn't busy so it was fairly quiet and not a lot of people so we were well attended to. It was nice to finally give this place a try, but I think it's a one and done.“
“The service was great! I was looking for a sushi spot near by and it was one I wanted to try because of the variety of sushi options! I had the Andy's roll and the Hot Summer Roll. Both were good, not super memorable nor do I feel like running back but they do have a good lunch option if you're looking for something good, quick and affordable! Overall good but not on my top sushi spots. I will end by saying what I did love those was huge the portions were I think for the rolls I got you definitely get a generous amount of protein!“
“I still think about the sushi I had here. In fact I have dreams about it.I was born and raised in Hawaii where fresh seafood was always available and always delicious rarely ever frozen. I’ve also been stationed in Japan for a few years and ate a looot of sushi.Coming back to the states and moving to California, finding good sushi that can compare had been difficult but who knew a place like this was so near to where I lived??Definitely gonna become a regular here!Thank you!“
“Came here for the first time and really enjoyed it. I didn't try any of the Peruvian dishes, but we tried the octopus sushi, grilled octopus, tiradito sampler, one of the specialty rolls and everything was nice. The dining area is clean and roomy, and the staff was nice.Definitely coming back again.“
“Little hole in the wall. Never new this place existed until I googled sushi places near me. Tried it for the first time. Their sushi is very delicious!! Very good deals too. Buy 2 get 1 free. Super yummy, have lots of flavors. Service was good. Am definitely going back to try more of their deliciousness.“
“A hidden gem! Brings the politeness of japanese culture to America! You need to be patient when ordering and waiting for the food, as they are often very busy. One item is enough for a person, don’t order too much! (We ended up having to pack half of our food for takeout) and price is very cheap for such fresh fish.“
“I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. The staff is so sweet & the sushi chefs are always a good time. I sit at the bar whenever I come, and the chefs are very attentive with really good dance moves. I really wish they had delivery, especially during this time. Nevertheless; I will always support this business! Thank you for adding to my community #Sushimafialb“
“First time to this Japanese restaurant, I have to say, weekdays are the best for dining in with less traffic/crowd.The happy hour specials are great as well if you want alcohol or appetizers. The food was amazing, sushi was on point, the grilled meats were perfect, just the right amount of marination.Dessert with the mochi ice cream topped it off! Both my waitresses Christina and Angie were professional and pleasant from beginning to end. Next time I shall ask them for recommendations for the best dining experience.Overall five stars for the ambience, cleanliness and great customer services. I shall come back!“
“Me and my husband have been ordering our sushi from here for years now. Usually just order takeout. Everything always tastes fresh and it looks appetizing as well. Two of my favorites are the Bolsa Chica roll and the pink lady roll, both are the no rice rolls which I like when I am wanting low carb options.Dietary restrictions: No rice rolls are amazing for those that need to limit their carbs.“
“Loved the food, service, and environment here! The sushi was made fresh and every roll was so delicious. The service was extremely welcoming. We had the mushroom bomb, tuna and salmon sashimi, spicy tuna roll, and more. I recommend dipping the sushi with gochujang and soy sauce if you like something spicier, because I loved it. I recommend getting the fried tempura green tea ice cream. It reminds me of Taiyaki ice cream. I loved this hidden gem and would definitely come back.“
“I really like this place, its the best ramen ive had so far, between a handful of other places. I feel like it has the most flavor. The sushi is also really good, good appetizers. All around its a great spot.Ive been here a few times and always enjoyed it.“
“Fun Sushi bar scene, but also capable of authentic, traditional Èdomaè Sushi. ? Nice selection of ultra premium Sakè (sah keh) to pair perfectly with high end Japanese cuisine. Sushi chefs are actually from Japan so you know you're getting the "Real McCoy".Of course, Koi will also make "American" Sushi rolls using mayo, sriracha, "eel sauce", Tempura flakes all at once if so desired for the uninitiated. Park in their own parking lot or street parking.“
“I stumbled onto this cute little sushi place by accident, but I'm so glad I took a chance. I had a sushi roll from their happy hour menu and one from their regular menu. Both were delicious! Can't wait to come back and try their sushi and sashimi! They have an actual sushi bar and a few tables, and the service was excellent! Sapporo on tap! Everything was very reasonable. Highly recommended!!“
“It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is decorated tastefully. This would be a great date spot as it has a very romantic atmosphere. The food was delicious and the presentation was very good. Our waiter was very attentive.“
“Exceptionally excellent. Very impressive dining experience. I’m in town visiting relatives and my cousin has been looking for a place to call his favorite sushi spot - we tried a newer place - which was terrible - they had pictures on the menus, which was the first sign that it wasn’t a serious sushi restaurant. We ordered some maki - tried it - wasn’t good we left. We found Hashigo on google maps. As soon as we sat down at the sushi bar we knew that we came to the right place. Great selection / variety of fish - one easy tell if it’s a good sushi place is if they have either pickled or fresh wasabi. Which Hashigo has pickled. Very fresh fish - we ordered salmon, halibut, mackerel, bluefin, yellow tail … eel, and salmon Kama every bite was amazing - our chef was very personable. Very good knife skills. I’m convinced that a lot of the sushi restaurants in this area have fake reviews or people just don’t have any idea what good sushi tastes like. Eat here and Hashigo will become the place which you will compare the other sushi restaurants around too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ very good overall - this is my cousin’s new favorite sushi spot.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level - sidewalk ramps“
“Cozy sushi spot with a huge variety of sushi choices. Even the Bento box offered a couple sushi choices vs just chicken, beef, salmon. Downside was the service was pretty bad. Hopefully it was a fluke day because I plan on going back to give it another try. My guests food came before mine...the table next to us that arrived quite a bit after us, got their food before me. Not sure how their communication failed but it did. I hope to do a new review next time I'm there and hopefully the service is more efficient. ?“
