“Cozy sushi spot with a huge variety of sushi choices. Even the Bento box offered a couple sushi choices vs just chicken, beef, salmon. Downside was the service was pretty bad. Hopefully it was a fluke day because I plan on going back to give it another try. My guests food came before mine...the table next to us that arrived quite a bit after us, got their food before me. Not sure how their communication failed but it did. I hope to do a new review next time I'm there and hopefully the service is more efficient. ?“

“Absolutely outstanding. Instead of our usual sushi + sashimi, we went with three rolls. Angel, a protein roll (no rice), and the {gifted} salmon roll. I can’t begin to articulate how beautiful and fresh and DIFFERENT each one tasted. Everything top notch. While I truly enjoy dthe previous owners/menu {mainly because of proximity and convenience to home}, the new owners have completely revamped decor, menu, service and WOW what an improvement. “This is one of my favorite go-to places to take friends when we don't know where else to go. When the Packing House is just too packed, Rodeo 39 has so many more options without the large crowd making it a great food hall to come with friends who aren't very good at unanimously choosing a restaurant. My personal favorite places are Banh Xeo Boys for the Banh Xeo, Kare for their katsu curry, phoholic for pho (of course), Steel Pan Pizza for their mushroom pizza, and Shootz for their Kimchi Butter Shrimp. Honorable mentions are Tenori and the Mexican restaurant that unfortunately, I can't remember the name of. Grab your food and choose a nice spot on the patio or inside by the bar to grab a drink later and enjoy the variety of options they provide with relatively reasonable prices.“

“I stopped in and got the Shrimp Tempura hand roll and the Spicy Tuna hand roll, and I absolutely loved the Spicy Tuna roll so much! It had such good flavor and when I added the soy sauce, it was definitely on and popping! Yummy, I can't wait to try some other menu items.“

“Loved every single thing we ordered here! The quality of the sushi was seriously melt in your mouth. Parking absolutely sucked, we drove around the blocks multiple times until we came up on street parking behind the alley somewhere. It wasn't terribly busy, got there around 7:30 and was seated in 10 minutes as parties were leaving. The yuzu roll was such an explosion of beautiful flavors combined in your mouth, 10/10 recommend for yellowtail lovers! Ambience was dim, not too noisy and the music was quaint. “I went here for a business meeting with someone I was meeting for the first time. We both were amazed at the quality of the fish. Just on look alone, it looked like what you would see at a high priced sushi spot. They have 50% nigiri, so salmon is like $3.99 for 2 pieces. Tuna is $4.50 for 2 pieces and the most expensive is Otoro at like $15 for 2 pieces. Typically, a 50% off sushi sign would terrify me, and I would be lying if I said i wasn't skeptical the first time I went here but I assure you, the skepticism will be long gone after you see the sushi hit the table. It tastes incredible and it was so good that after going my first time, I went again 2 more times over the course of the next 2 weeks. This sushi spot is 50 minutes from where u live in Santa Monica and I plan to absolutely return soon. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND“

“I ordered to go from Yelp and when I arrived the food was ready. It's in the shopping center near Da Vien. Parking wasn't hard to find on a Monday afternoon. The food itself was soooo good. I got the pork cutlet with cheese curry. The cutlet had the perfect pork to cheese ratio and the cheese was still gooey when I got home. The curry had a mild spice level, to almost very minimal spice. Since I ordered online unsure if you can change the spice level but would love if it were a little spicy! Overall the food is really good and will come back!“

“Ordered New York & Shrimp to-go, white rice w/vegetables adding Miso soup. White rice was the best part, don't get me wrong the food was good just not worth $45.14. The Teriyaki sauce tasted like it was made by a white guy trying too hard to cook Japanese food.The vegetables were cooked perfectly! I became a bit spoiled for Japanese food in HB from eating at Matsu (Beach & Talbert) since 1978, but this was okay food, I really can't complain much. I am wondering why at 7:30PM on a Wednesday night the dining room was a ghost town?!?It was the best Japanese food I've had on Beach Blvd. in HB for a long time. Matsu has gone downhill since it changed ownership in the 90's, but I think I found my new favorite Japanese restaurant to eat at in HB.I think I was happy with my food overall, I'll give it a solid 7 out of 10. “The service was great! I was looking for a sushi spot near by and it was one I wanted to try because of the variety of sushi options! I had the Andy's roll and the Hot Summer Roll. Both were good, not super memorable nor do I feel like running back but they do have a good lunch option if you're looking for something good, quick and affordable! Overall good but not on my top sushi spots. I will end by saying what I did love those was huge the portions were I think for the rolls I got you definitely get a generous amount of protein!“

“First time - I called in my order. A kind gentleman answered the phone. I informed him that I've never been there and he informed me what's in the CA plate.. I ended up ordering a CA plate, salmon & grilled shrimp veggies, side salmon and egg rolls. He informed me that it would be ready in 10 minutes.When I got there my order was ready. A small , clean local place with about 4 tables. “Food is excellent. Some staff are friendly, some look miserable to be there. Better to get there early! They do get busy fast during lunch/dinner hours. My go-to menu is the marinated beef belly (toro) with either sukiyaki or chicken broth. Taken few of my friends there and they absolutely love this place. Party of 2 must sit at the bar and 3 or more, tables. Writing this review is making me hungry. I'm going tomorrow lol“
