I haven’t been to this place in a few years, since I left LA. I was thinking about it fondly today and realized I never left a review!I am not sure from the other reviews how the new management is taking care of the place but the photos seem to reflect almost exactly as I remembered it. So, you should go to this place and give it a shot at least, it is great and very memorable.
my neighbors and i used to walk over after our work day for sandwiches and conversation. when the new owners nearly doubled the prices and gentrified the funky decor, we figured we’ll just go half as often. now they close early, and we can’t go at all! it’s truly sad to walk by and see it closed by daylight, when we used to gather. but i’m still glad that the Cochinito folks managed to save it at all.

I went here today for the first time since they reopened and I must say I’m extremely impressed. I’m so grateful they’re back! The egg sandwich was phenomenal and the owner along with staff were incredibly inviting.
