As of October 1, 2023, this location is closed. Too bad, I enjoyed having a burger and then going next door to the Gopher.

Pretty good! Buns were a little too toasty for me. Wish they were soft on the inside. But other than that - onion rings were perfect and meat was cooked where it made me forget about the crunchy bun. Prices are a little steep for a burger joint. Glad we dropped by during happy hour!

Go to Cassells if u want a attack. Everything is fried and really greasy! Like soaked-in-oil greasy. Also very pricey for fried food. I guess that's why the place was empty It's has a diner vibe with shakes to complement ur but not a place I would recommend nor ever return to

Delicious burger with fresh ingredients. Lovely no frills service. 10% off for out of towners which was a surprise. I can see why it was rated best burger in DTLA.

My favorite hamburger place in DTLA, if you are getting tired of chain store hamburger in DTLA, then you must try Cassell's, Staffs are nice, and they have some special Burger like the one we tried was B'Fast Burger, they wrap the patty and lettuce with 2 pieces round crispy hash brown instead of bread, really surprise me, and it did taste good as well! Their chicken tender (5 pieces) was very large size tender, very tender and juicy, and Spicy California Burger was not that spice with cilantro, lime juice, avocado and spice mayo (btw spicy mayo tasted good) a little bit mexican fusion, we also ordered tuna melt, the toast was crispy, tuna salad was fresh, also a good choice if you want something light. Onion ring and milk shakes was fair. Overall the food was all delicious. Will visit again, and next time I would like to try their dessert.Vegetarian options: They have summer seasonal items, the rainbow pasta primavera has vegetarian choice.

Really loved this place! Service was fast , friendly, and welcoming. We found street parking pretty quickly. I got the classic cheeseburger. The burger is quite big and filled me up good. The buns where so light and buttery. The beef is antibiotic & hormone free which was a plus! Their sauce tasted very similar but special in its own way. Also loved the aesthetic inside this place. I'd love to come back and try more off their menu, their desserts looked delicious so I'll be back for that too!

The food here is absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere, very reasonable prices, and the staff are super friendly. Gus makes this restaurant even more special. Most definitely recommend trying this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

I've always wanted to try this place out, because of the historical history behind it. Started in 1948 as a simple lunch style restaurant with counter seating, serving iconic hamburgers, freshly ground daily. What more could you ask for?Located in Downtown Los Angeles, place was clean and decorated nicely in let's say modern 50's decor, missing was the old time counter, facing the open kitchen, watching the cooks preparing your meal, the waitress, running back and forth, serving the patrons seated at the counter. This place does have a counter with bar stools, but they're located up against a wall, opposite of the kitchen. The restaurant itself was built uniquely on a two level floor plan, small dining area immediately to the front, with stairs leading to the second level, where the kitchen and additional table are located. The outside was a different story, with homeless people wandering out on the sidewalk, a distinct odor slightly filled the air, but I won't tell you what the smell was...you'll thank me later!Looking at the menu while ordering, we knew this was going to be a little pricey, but we were ready for it. When we got the final cost for 3 people, it ran close to $70, roughly about $20 to $24 dollars per person, just depending on what you add on to your burger and sides and drinks that you choose. The burgers were top notch, you can tell the meat was of high quality, freshly grounded, fries and onion rings was good. Everything tasted great, just wished that the burgers were a little larger to satisfy our hunger and to justify the high price. Other items on their menu were breakfast items, chicken, pies and shakes. Employees were extremely nice and helpful.I myself would definitely come back from time to time, but if you're on a budget, or a penny pincher, then this place is probably not the best choice for you.

Tried the red velvet and enjoyed a tasty treat not too sweet on the senses. The inside is like a 50's Diner and simply adorable.

They have a limited menu but do it well. Ate here twice mostly because of convenience but good both times. Definitely an old school burger but they will cook it medium rare. Patty a little burnt from the flat top because that's the way it's supposed to be. Served with lettuce, tomato, pickle like it's supposed to be. Fries not fresh cut but tasty because cooked properly. Milk shake was decent. Wished they opened early for breakfast.

I love this place. The hamburgers, fries, onion rings all remind me of the best diner food from back in the good old days. In fact it's rare to find onion rings done properly, so those are highly recommended here. Golden color, perfect texture, done exactly right. They have seasonal items that are "special", so it's a good idea to go in and see what they have, including some great cakes and other desserts. Some might say parking in that area is a little tough but it's worth going into the store at least once or twice to get an idea of what they have and then you know what to order for delivery or take out.

Not terrible but nothing special either. No disrespect intended but I love me a good burger and expected that based on reviews and images.First off the place has a B food rating so that was a slight red flag, but I still got food.Tried the burger combo.Parking is terrible since it's in the middle of downtown LA.I got lucky with parking but doubt I'd be that fortunate a 2nd time.Spent like 27.00 for a combo that was honestly disappointing.I've had better burger combos for $12Charging almost $20 for their cheeseburger which was the biggest disappointment of the 3 items is a little insulting. Ate most of my food but probably won't be back.Take my review as you will.
