This is actually a review for Homegirl's catering service: I hired Homegirl to cater my book launch at the University of Southern California. Nadine was super easy to work with in planning out the kinds of foods I wanted for my event. Abel did an excellent job finding our venue and setting up a delicious spread. I got turkey sandwiches, roast beef sandwiches, and vegan sandwiches. Everything was delicious on fresh bread baked by Homegirl. We also had agua frescas, hummus, and salad. The hummus was actually so popular that I barely got to try any. My guests ate it all! Note to self: order extra hummus next time. Putting on an event is time consuming and stressful, but Homegirl made the food portion of my event easier to manage. I highly recommend them. They will be at the top of my list for future catering events.

Thought I would leave an updated review after having taken my mom who was visiting me from Buffalo, NY to breakfast at Homegirl Cafe recently (on her birthday!!). We both ordered the house coffee (my favorite with the notes of orange) and the veggie omelette. My mom was not familiar with Homeboy Industries prior to our dining experience, despite the fact I'm a huge fan of all things Homeboy, and she was literally moved to tears during our meal. Our server, Pamela H., was super attentive, friendly, and just really great throughout our entire meal. After enjoying the food and each other's company, I headed over to the counter to order three pounds of coffee to enjoy on my home coffee system. I usually order the coffee grounds online but hate paying for shipping if I don't have to (it adds up quickly). We then popped over to the Homeboy store to browse and then in to Homeboy Industries proper. Since my mom had her little dog with her, we were politely asked to move along (no dogs allowed in that area). Father Greg wasn't at his desk anyway so no worries. All of the homies were very nice despite the fact it was pretty crowded. I love Homeboy Industries, Homegirl Cafe, and Homeboy Bakery, etc. etc. I love doing anything I can do to support the homies, including running in the Homeboy 5K! I'm happy to have taken both my mom and dad to Homegirl on separate occasions and will continue to hope their hours are more conducive to bringing guests in the future. Thank you Father G for all that you do and for changing the lives of homies and non-homies alike.

Love, love, love this place the chilaquiles, the coffee, food with a purpose. The coffee cake is the one thing that takes me back to my childhood. I always come here when I need a trip down memory lane.

Came by Homeboy industries to visit my brother in law who works there and had me a cup of coffee and a delicious coffee cake at the Homegirl cafe. Homeboy does a lot for ex gang members so I thought I'd stop by and support their efforts to get men and women into jobs and therapy rather than back on the streets. Btw Dodger great Fernando Valenzuela showed up at Homeboy that day to show his support.

My first time at this spot service was good can't remember my waiter name but he was great always checking on us. The food was simple wish my tacos had a little more flavor (but hot sauce did the job) the potatoes was delicious my mom did love her omelette & her toast the best thing was the coffee cake it was delicious. I love the ambience everyone is friendly & nice.

Highly recommend for the food and a unique Los Angeles experience. If you are not a LA regular and are traveling any distance, I recommend calling ahead to verify the hours (do not rely on Yelp or other third party web sites). Keep in mind that many of the workers are interns in the Homeboy program, so there may be the occasional service mixup. This is more than made up for by the uplifting vibe. Food items are good with generous portions at a reasonable price. The Chile Relleno Grilled Cheese is one standout as is their coffee cake. This is a cashless business and payment is directly at the table using the handheld terminal of the server (tap to pay is supported as well as Apple Pay).

The best Mexican food in Los Angeles. Great, happy, enthusiastic service, terrific ambiance, great drinks - get the green drink (it's not health food; it's *delicious, minty, fresh, sweet).

A great place for breakfast, and to grab some of the best cookies around. It feels like a spot you've always gone to, they treat you kindly. I keep forgetting to try the cinnamon swirl French toast, it's not on the menu, but there's a small chalkboard in front showing it as a special. Pancakes with fresh fruit and one of the omelettes is what I get, and it's very filling and delicious. Their coffee is great too. They also have fresh baked goods, I always grab a few cookies to go. It is a little frustrating that they are closed on the weekends, but that's their choice. So it's a place for when I have a day off.
