What a gem. We were sightseeing Chinatown and decided to step in and have something to eat. Staff were very welcoming and polite but what is most important the food was amazing. They had the best guacamole I ever had in USA.

I was walking to Echo Park from the Chinatown metro station and realized I was starving so I decided to pop into Placita's. The burrito was like $6 so I figured I'd try it and was pleasantly surprised. In a city of many mediocre overpriced burritos, this one was actually pretty good. Friendly staff too!

The three ladies that work here explained that there is a tunnel underneath the cafe which leads to a chasm, deep within the Earth's surface, known as "the echo realm". Apparently, you yell a deep, personal, plaguing question into the chasm and it responds. Wonderful burrito, as well.

L A 's best little secret when you go to Olvera St. It's blows Cielito Lindos burritos away. It's twice bigger than theirs and it feeds two people. It's called the "Wet Burrito". It's only 12.50 pls tx but believe me when I tell you it's big. My hat is off to you if you can finish a whole one. If your poor like me you have to watch every dollar and it would cost me 18.00 pls tx for two of theirs. Don't believe me? Put it to the test. Order theirs and then cross the street and order a "Wet Burrito". Compare the Value and Taste and let me know what you think. Viva Mexico!Vegetarian options: They can do veggies and bionicos, shakes and smoothies. Don't be shy just walk in order sit down if you want to eat inside or outside wait outside and they will bring it out to you. Same goes for those with wheels , babies or animals. What it lacks in space is worth the wait . You want to save even more? Go next door and get yourself a two liter soda, ice cold and some cups. You rich folk can pay three or four dollars a cup if you want. I live here so I have to be creative to survive. Enjoy Olvera Street . Parking ? Yeah right. Your funny . You could pay $18.00 at Chevron or behind Cielito Lindo 5 to 15.00.or on the street a block away for a buck. I say leave the car and bus in or walk. Prepare for a hot sunny day and experience all the sites and aromas we the huddled masses have to offer. But then please leave before the sun goes down. Trust me . You don't want to watch when the Riff raff and market rabble come out. Or maybe you do. Oh hell ya, you rock on wit yo bad self. Peace out.Kid-friendliness: The people of L. A. love the children. Yeah! They are kid friendly, but never leave them out of your site and yes you may see things that can be shocking but all they ask is that you please don't stare or show pity. Love begets love .Parking: Drive in and pay if you can afford it, park on the street if your gonna take out, walk in if your gonna do the Olvera Street Stroll but leave promptly with our blessings and please return often.

A little gem hidden around the buzzing area by the Union Station. The horchata was really good and refreshing, had to ask whether it’s homemade just make sure. Prices for the food was about a dollar or two higher than some of the food vendors serving same kind of food around the area. It’s still a good value though since they have a small burritos for five dollars, pretty fulfilling. The lady in the front was nice enough to offer me a seat but this is more of a takeout place. It’s a small corner and it’s a better stop for when you don’t have much time or just in a hurry
