If it's popular with rats that is a good sign that they like the quality of food. I went there a few times and mostly got cookies that were okay, not great. There is a similar place right across the street and I think they have more variety.
The best by far - the black bread and huge variwty of freshlymade pastries is purrfekt! And the babkas- where else? Bread braids, warm food. Stolichnaya has been the favorite fopr decades - straight out Russian with some surrounding countries. Christmas without this bakery is only half a holiday. Owner is friendly and the women who work for him are patient and willing to make suggestions. The bakery also takes orders in advance -for babkas for example!
