“This was easily some of the best sushi I've ever had in the U.S. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, high quality, and full of amazing flavor. Yes, it was on the pricier side, but honestly, every penny felt justified. It's rare for a meal to leave such a strong impression, but this one truly stood out. From the first bite to the last, it was an unforgettable experience that I would happily pay for again.“

“Good Japanese foods , many varieties of dishes . The fish grilled sea bass is cooked just perfectly fine . The salad is kinda american Japanese fusion but still good . The carbonara noodle - I don’t really care (It doesn’t really fit with the rest of the dishes) - overall is a great place to enjoy Japanese foods“

“Fresh fish and impressive knife skills from the chef. Sitting at the counter and watching the precision, technique, and attention to detail made the experience even more enjoyable. Every piece was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Highly recommend.“

“I highly recommend Sushis Takeda. I absolutely loved the experience: the service from the waitstaff was excellent—always attentive and very friendly—which made the whole visit even more enjoyable.
What stood out most was the *omakase* format, where the chef prepares a perfect selection —and honestly, it does not disappoint. I was served by the team of Jairo, Sami, and Demi, and everything we tasted was delicious. Every single dish had incredible flavor, and the quality was evident.
Plus, I really enjoyed the sake 🍶; it complemented the entire experience perfectly.
It is definitely a place I would return to without a second thought. 👌🍣“

“Came in for a conference and had lunch at Momi Sushi after checking into our hotel. We tried the sashimi sampler, miso soup, fish of the day nigiri and the tamago nigiri. Everything was incredibly fresh, accented with light complimentary flavors. I loved the dine-in ice bowls for the sashimi. Well worth it. If we have time before we have to go home, we will definitely be back.“

“The atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was delicious. However, the service was disappointing. Our server was condescending and repeatedly interrupted our moment by crossing between us without a word. When I asked about drinks, she was short and even gave inaccurate descriptions. This is my second visit, and both times with the same server have left a sour taste. I hope the service improves because the food deserves better! This is my second visit, and both times with the same brunette server, whose attitude left a sour taste.“

“Sawa is easily a top-10 restaurant in my opinion. The chef deserves a star. The entire experience went beyond my expectations, truly outstanding. I had so much fun dining there; the environment is friendly, and every bite was delicious. The host was spectacular, especially for suggesting we split the sake pairing, for someone who doesn’t drink much, it was more than enough. I’m already looking forward to coming back.“

“Budonoki is a true hidden gem. Every dish is beautifully presented, incredibly flavorful, and genuinely satisfying. The owner is warm and welcoming, and the service is thoughtful—our server even surprised us with complimentary items from the chef, all of which were outstanding.
My husband and I keep coming back and have brought clients, friends, and family, and everyone has had a great experience. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate with dim lighting, limited seating, and a relaxed vibe set to tasteful hip hop in the background.
Overall, it’s a standout spot we’re always happy to return to.“

“We had the chance to celebrate Sushi Zanmai’s 1-year anniversary, and it was such a fun experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and you can tell they truly care about quality and hospitality.
One of the highlights is that Sushi Zanmai has its own exclusive house sake, which made the experience even more unique. We enjoyed a sake tasting, and each bottle had its own smooth, well-balanced flavor that paired beautifully with the food. If you enjoy Japanese sake, this is something you definitely shouldn’t skip.
We ordered the Zanmai Gozen, and it was the perfect way to experience a variety of the restaurant’s specialties. The beautifully presented set included fresh sashimi, crispy shrimp and vegetable tempura, flavorful appetizers, a creative specialty roll, and perfectly cooked bites finished with rich sauces and just the right amount of spice. Every item was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and showcased authentic Japanese flavors.
The presentation was stunning, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and every bite reflected the attention to detail that Sushi Zanmai is known for. The chefs were welcoming, and watching them prepare the dishes added to the overall dining experience.
If you’re looking for the best Japanese restaurant, fresh sushi, premium sashimi, authentic Japanese cuisine, or a great place to enjoy Japanese sake, Sushi Zanmai is absolutely worth visiting. Congratulations on your first anniversary I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu. Highly recommended!“

“This place is the BEST. The chef is outstanding and prepares everything with caring and expertise. The food it top notch and not too expensive. It's relaxing and homey and fun. The couple who own it are friendly and sometimes everyone in the restaurant talks with everyone else. People eat here over and over because it feels relaxing and yet the food is top notch. The chef is an expert. I can't recommend it more highly.“

“Just go here. They are amazing. Best omakase sushi in LA. The concept is fantastic, service is even better, and they genuinely understand what makes sushi good.
Honest criticism: The tamago was a bit subpar against how amazing the rest was. Secondly some may be off put by the slightly cold lighting, yet I think they are wrong in such an assessment. Sure it isn’t perfect for Instagram but it highlights the food better.“

“Went here for lunch, had the 4 roll combo. It's a small place. Not many tables, but we ordered quickly amd found a table. Fish seemed fresh, and they have special wrappers on the rolls to keep the nori crisp until you eat it. Nice, quick amd casual. For those concerned about such things, It's just down the block from the Market, and the area in general is a little run down, probably worse at night.“

“This was our third time dining at Eigikutei and we were just as pleased this time as we were with our maiden experience. We were favored with our personal favorite of the sushi kaiseki Yawaragi (10-piece sushi). All the separate elements of the course melded perfectly for our palette. The service was attentive and on que with our pacing of eating. And the ambience was quiet serenity. We highly recommend dining at Eigikutei for any fine dining connoisseur!“

“I have had a lot of sushi in this town, but this place is really special. The sushi is at a high level.
Every time I come, there’s a line and every time it’s worth it. And it’s not as expensive as other fancy places. This is a great place for a date. I love the vibe, young and vibrant. But the sushi that’s next level. Definitely coming back!!“

“Absolutely SUPERB experience. We made reservations for 5:30pm on a Weds; Sat at the bar where we were served directly by Chef Jeff and poured drinks by Richard.
We were warmly greeted upon entering and treated like royalty throughout the experience — extremely attentive staff but are not imposing with their attention. Just the right balance. Chef Jeff was the BEST — extremely kind, informative yet very considerate and socially aware. Clear and concise with each dish’s backstory / context but willing to engage further when we had questions.
LOVED the vibe. Not pretentious. Comfortable yet modern and elegant at the same time. We did not dress up and did not feel underdressed — that says a lot given the top-notch service and food but with a VERY approachable price point. We really enjoyed Morihiro's evolved, more approachable experience.
One of the best dining experiences we've had in a while -- each nigiri was well paced and sequenced. Fish was top notch but also the rice was STELLAR. Classic nigiri like the chutoro and otoro were harmoniously balanced -- texture, flavor and ratio. Then there were nigiri pieces that were smoked with Cherry wood that had an amazing accent of smokiness that did not overpower the fish or rice. There was another nigiri we had that was marinated on a sake-soaked kombu: WOW -- what a great flavor that added to the nigiri. Each nigiri was an absolute delight, I honestly can't stress that enough. Chef Jeff was extremely thoughtful and intentional with the sequencing which made the dining experience really special.
For cocktails, we had a White Negori from Richard and another cocktail that had a strawberry amaro in it. BOTH AMAZING. Then he finished the beverage journey off with a 3-year old Umeshu I believe which was such an unbelievable balance of sweet, sparkling fizz and earthiness from the plum. Great compliment to the sushi.
For the non-sushi dishes, we had the prawn tempura, Shabu (A5 Wagyu), and pickled roots. You would think that these dishes would take a backseat to the sushi but it did not -- they were all well balanced with texture and flavor. Beautifully presented as well.
HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND — you get fine-dining service and food but with approachable pricing and comfort. This is a LA GEM.“

“This place is a secret Gem, I believe this was my third time stopping by and I have to say, it never disappoints. They are currently offering a BOGO deal on their Premium Rolls (Buy one get the second one 50% off).
I got the Philly Roll and the Party Rock roll, both were delicious!
Ingredients felt high quality and very fresh.“

“Parking/Entry: Use the Kajima building structure (address in email). Go to the 2nd-floor glass doors, then take the middle elevator to the basement.
This was my second visit to Sushi Kaneyoshi, and it remains incredible. The staff is so attentive they anticipate your needs before you even realize them. While the price point is high for a single meal, the quality is on a different level. As an average salaryman, I can say it's worth every cent. Kaneyoshi is a master, and I never tasted food the same since coming here.
These photos are from their Saturday premium reservations. There are a few dishes missing, including the 3 types of Uni nigiri - Santa Barbara, Boston, and Hokkaido.“

“I got in pretty much as soon as they open, so I got the special opportunity to get to talk to Kristine. After a lovely conversation and delicious food, I left feeling so full and at peace. The tempura was crispy and airy, the rice was perfectly cooked, the fish in the sushi tasted fresh. I cannot recommend visiting here enough. I am sure it can get busy, as the place is small, but I think that is part of its charm: meeting with a group of strangers for a good meal and a moment of peace before heading back into the world.“

“Amazing and thoughtful service from Pierre!
I'm particular about my sushi, especially salmon. But I can say Azai is the best sushi I've had in California so far. The salmon sashimi is juicy and the salmon roll melts in mouth, just like my favorite sushi place in NY. I'm excited to come back!“
