“The food is exceptional, prepared by a wonderful chef. The restaurant itself is part of a Mercantile building, which was built in 1898. The restaurant and bar were built into what was formerly where the employees of this lumber company town bought all their meat. It’s very charming. You won’t be disappointed.“
“Absolutely love this gorgeous space; a true secret of the north state. We never miss a chance to spend time here even if we are just stopping through. The space feels like a complete getaway or vacation with its warm inviting atmosphere and I can't describe it but you instantly relax when you enter the town of McCloud. The staff is lovely, Jessica was very thorough with the menu and made sure our glasses were always full. We also had the pleasure of meeting chef Jules who was so kind and humble even though his food was absolutely out of this world. Everything is fresh and perfectly flavored, I wish I had taken a photo of the food but to do so would have been to ruin the experience that is the Axe and Rose Pub. We started the meal with the potato latkes and had the Buddha Bowl and the Duck Confet Burger. If you have the opportunity please stop in, you will not be disappointed.“
“Delicious food. The coffee is hot and fresh. I had the waffle with fruit. It was perfectly cooked. The flavor was amazing. The biscuits and gravy looked really good. I’m not really a breakfast person so it takes a special place to impress me.“
“Stopped by to get coffee. The decoration of this store surprised me, and I really like it. My favorite is the board game corner. They have a big collection of board games for rent and arcade games. This is already a great hangout place for me. I ordered cafe mocha, and carne asada fries. The coffee smelled amazing, and I love the chocolate flavor. The meat in the fried was well seasoned, and the fries was very crispy! I finished it within 5 minutes even if I was not hungry! I will come back again for sure!“

“All the sauces are homemade! Great good, great vibes. Worth a stop for sure! Some reviewers believe it’s overpriced, hey you get what you pay for and at Yak’s you get $20 worth of delicious and authentic food. Treat yourself to a flavorful burger topped with homemade ingredients served by kind people.“

Hamburger patties seasoned to perfection and shaped just right.Everything is fresh and piping hot. Fries and sides all hit right. Support this small family business. Skip all the other burger places.
