I bought some Mexican and Guatemalan tamales; they are super tiny and really expensive. I get much better food quality and better prices in the Bay Area where is supposed to be more expensive.

The yucca con chicharon alone makes this place a 5/5. You throw in fresh baked pan dulce, unique imported sodas and snacks, and this makes for a really great place to grab a bite and dessert.

I ordered takeout and was surprised by the quality of the food!!! It felt like I went to my grandma’s house for dinner, that’s the type of enchiladas you can expect! I was so happy with the food, I will definitely be going back! My order was also completed very quickly from when I placed it. I also noticed they had a ton of pan dulce there, so I will have to return very soon to try those. The parking area is a tight, but it’s worth it.

Last time I went to buy their bread and it was good so I returned to get a plate of enchiladas with beans and rice and a carne asada taco on the side. On the menu located above the cash register, it states that the meat options for the enchiladas were chicken or pork. Upon ordering, they didn’t ask which meat I wanted… so I was thinking it’s ok. I’ll take either meat. However, when I got the enchiladas, there were no meat. There were shredded cheese and some dried red sauce on top. The beans were liquified, not thick, and had an odd taste to it. I ate the taco but couldn’t finish the plate. Lastly, the customer service was not welcoming.

Me vendieron unas pupusas crudas y para que me cosinaran otras se tardaron extremadamente mucho. I was just visiting but I'm not going here again.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly:The Good:It's a great place to get some Pupusas! Everything is freshly made when you order. The curtido is fresh and won't leave your tongue burning in hell fire. The BadThe only thing that I didn't like is that they were a little bit too small for the price. The cost for one Pupusa as of January 3rd, 2023, is $3.50 - $4.50 each. We do understand, however, that prices are changing constantly in this new economy. The Ugly:Nope, nothing here. That's rare!Overall:In my opinion and the opinion of my Guatemalan born hubby, this is the most authentic flavor of the El Salvadoran pupusas in and around the Merced area. There are a lot of places that offer pupusas, but they are not the same if you get them in a Mexican restaurant... OK/good but not the same. My 2 cents... I did read about someone claiming they had bought bread, and it was molded. This is in no way true. They bake fresh EVERY day.
