“We'll be hitting up the Mad Dog for some bangers as soon as we adjust the Whipply Pimpertickler on Goosebump Charlie's old Draveport Traveler, that way he can use it for something other than a door stop at his place there on the Ashbury.WOW! That Mad Dog restaurant sure can put out some great food, might even day it was Amazing! ☆☆☆☆☆“

“This is a solid bar with amazing wings and a delicious burger and fries! I ordered all of that just for myself and of course couldn’t finish it all. I had tasty leftovers the next day. Service was good and the bar was fairly empty on a Wednesday evening around 6 pm.“
“Liquid Gold is a perfect name for this beer spot. How else can you describe the golden elixir's on tap? If you are a beer person, you will leave this place happy. And I would't say you have to be a certain kind of beer person (that is, ipa, sour, etc.) Different styles are fairly well represented across many excellent local craft breweries. I really like how LG offers a very small pour option for most beers, which allows me to try a lot more without both the cost and getting too toasty. But I believe they also offer growler options, which is super convenient (especially if you're close by, which alas I am not.) Also, they have a pretty big cooler with cans, so if you need more options to bring home you're very covered. Finally, they don't serve food but I have brought snacks, etc. inside (Nourish cafe is just a few doors down, hint hint.) Enjoy a sandwich in a low-key, relaxing joint, with plenty of beer to keep your thirst quenched.“

“I’ve been frequenting Richmond Republic since the week it opened and I’m not sure I’d live here if it didn’t exist. There’s a great rotating beer selection and the food is delicious. I especially like the burgers and salads, and the fries and tots are cooked to perfection. I love all the bartenders, especially the Tuesday crew. Make sure to get an Underberg before heading home!“

“This place has such a great Irish ambiance! They always have all the games on, such as Premier League games, NFL games, Rugby games, March Madness, etc.! The Guinness pour is excellent! And they have additional Irish beers as well. They serve bar food that is above average. Great bar that is worth the visit thanks to the variety and service.“

“My now favorite sports and nonsports Tavern in the Richmond. Atmosphere was just the right balance of enthusiasm and still being able to talk and hear a conversation. Beers are great! And I'm a huge sausage fan, and they hit all the marks. But the biggest surprise was the Sauerkraut. This is exactly how my Polish mother cooked it with apples and caraway! Wow!“

“Been to San Francisco a couple of times now, and it kinda hurt that it took me that long to realize there's this nice little spot just a block from our hotel. Perfect way to end a crazy week in good company, with cold drinks and great food! Already looking forward to hanging out there next year :)“
“I love this place my local neighbor bar. Hayden is the best bartender looking out for me and my cousin the moment we stepped in. The best service and making sure we were safe. Hayden also makes the best Irish coffees and I would trust him with my life!“

“I found the Tempest while staying at a nearby hotel, and was so glad to have discovered one of SF's most revered dives nearby! I visited two nights and enjoyed the bartenders, delicious food from the Box, and connecting with local regulars. My only grievance is that they didn't have a Tempest t-shirt in my size!“

“This place is really really yummy .. very unique delicious flavors; all this was $99 and honestly worth every penny! Good for them. Would definitely recommend to friends. Service was good there was really only 1 guy helping the whole place and he was on top of it ! He could've used some help though. Nice big TVs playing sports to set the ambiance and vibe. Very tasty and quality restaurant right here. I would recommend it!“

“Late-night vibes in San Francisco ?? Had a blast at this bar. The ambience was spot on, with cozy lighting and a lively crowd. The pool table added some extra fun to the mix. Shoutout to the hardworking bartender who kept the drinks flowing smoothly despite the busy night. Tried three different beers and cocktails, all top-notch! Definitely a must-visit spot for a great time in the city. #SanFranciscoNights #CheersToGoodTimes ??“

“This is our 1st time to San Francisco from from Washington and were able to watch the Seahawks game among all the other games with a great crowd of football fans! Food and service was amazing especially during such a crowded busy time!!! Thank you!!!“
“A bar that feels like the embodiment of a Dive bar (in the best way possible) My girlfriend and I stopped by here for drinks while waiting for a table at The Laundromat up the street. The bar itself is a quintessential Sports/ Dive Bar - TV's every where playing different sports, some small tables to sit at, and a pool table in the back corner. My girlfriend and I ended up grabbing a beer and a gin and tonic respectively and just chatted and watched the PBR (professional bull riding) event that was airing on one of the TVs. Also - that gin and tonic was one of the best I've had in a *l o n g* time. Staff here were friendly (notably the bar tender and the guy working the front door) and a lot of the patrons were amicable and easy to talk to. I don't find myself out in this neighborhood often but, if I did, I could easily find myself being a regular here. 5/5 just purely based on the vibes alone.“

“Great spot with surprisingly delicious food. The pretzel is excellent, and I love that they serve it with a nice spicy house made mustard. I've been twice and gotten the slushy both times, which have been delish. My girlfriend likes the corn dog, although it could use a thicker batter. Recently I tried the Bacon Beef burger (aioli, onion jam, wild arugula, gruyere) which was scrumptious. Cooked to perfection with the right amount of sauce and toppings (two nice slices of bacon that were perfectly cooked). Pretty decent prices for the serving sizes (burger comes with fries and a pickle). The staff are friendly and there's lots of seating both inside and outside.“

“do you want to have a super Duper unbelievable delicious prime rib sandwich on a Friday afternoon come to peace 881 club or come Thursday night for the full primary dinner for like less than 30 bucks that's half the price that anywhere else you would go and it's delicious and the bartenders are awesome and on Friday they use the leftover prime to make the real thin slice prime rib sandwiches. They're like 17 bucks. They were double.“
“The 4 of us started with pikilia, a nice sampling of the mezethes, which were delicious. It would have been easier if we hadn't had to cut most items in half so that each of us could have a sample of each item. (Perhaps the plate could be sized and ordered "for 2, for 3, for 4," etc.) The beyti was beautiful and tasted wonderful. Also fabulous were the kotopoulo brochettes, souzoukaklia, and sultani. We had room to share the chocolate dome and the salted caramel gelato. We loved the food, and our server was delightful. Although the place is small, there was only one bartender and one server that Monday night; we had to request attention from time to time. The door also tended to remain open, which allowed cold air, cigarette smoke, and truck exhaust to infiltrate. We did shut the door several times, but next time we'll ask to be seated in the back. We'll definitely return - often!“

“Very chill spot for some really good wings. The wings melt right off the bone and there's lots of great sauces to choose from. My favorite is the buffalo sauce, it has a good tang and spice to it. Second favorite is also the mango habanero which I've noticed has a varied spice level from the 2 times I've tried it. Lemon pepper and garlic Parmesan were okay flavors. The beers/ciders/sours are from local places around the bay which is cool too and they taste great. 5 wings I think is the right amount to fill you up.“

“Great sports bar with the best buffalo wings in SF! Only removing one star because the prices have increased a lot. The main issue is there's been multiple times only one dude is there to serve a full bar -during a game- which can mean up to a 30min wait for a drink (even if it's your first and just a beer). He's great, but the risk of that definitely keeps me from going pretty often. It's always a good time after you get a drink though :)“
“My husband and I met at Blackthorn at Blackthorn 8 years ago. I've had many happy memories including new years, world cups, and other great moments in my life. It would be detrimental to the SF community if this bar closed, and I WILL NOT come back if a new bar opens. McGrath, do the right thing and let Blackthorn have that space!!!!“
“Came here after work. Lots of tv. Have outdoor seatings and some tables inside but you can also seat at the bar area. They have free popcorn. They wr code for the restaurant next door but they are okay for you to bring outside food. As for the drinks, they have beers, cocktails, and wine or take a shot if you want too as well. They have a pool table and jukebox if you want to play music. The staffs are nice but they can get busy once the place started to get busy. Prices are decent/average.“

“Nickie's was great! We visited San Francisco for my birthday and it was close to our hotel and just what we needed... A fun bartender, cheap drinks, and great locals to chat with. No frills, didn't try the food, just there for the late night mellow dive.“
“… Drew is coolYour friends from the east coast.Amazing bar, great atmosphere, friendly patrons. The bartender was great, and very attentive. We were visiting for the weekend with friends and he gave great recommendations for a few other spots closer to our hotel. I Will definitely make it back and recommend anyone looking for a great bar to visit this spot .“

“From the food to the drinks this place is European brew pub meets American sports bar. Menu ranges from American classics like burgers and pizza to sausages and schnitzel, with the beer selection featuring traditional German brews to local favorites. Beers were available in a variety of sizes starting with a pint and going all the way to das boot. I was expecting pretty typical bar food that did the job, but this place more than delivered on the quality and flavor. We ordered the sausage fries, stroganoff, and pork schnitzel - all of which were damn good. The stroganoff was a crowd pleaser with others in the group ordering it too, and those potatoes with the schnitzel - talk about flavor. The owner was the only one working the front of the bar and he was awesome, super friendly, got all our food out quickly, and checked on us multiple times to make sure we were doing okay in the cold. We came as a large group with a couple dogs at dinner time and sat outside in the parklet. Had no problem finding space for our group with indoor seating available as well. Cool spot that I'd definitely come back to when in the mood for a big beer and some schnitzel.“

“This place is great! I met very friendly patrons who let me sit next to them at the bar during the Superbowl. Even though it was incredibly busy, the bartender (Dave) was attentive and friendly. Their chicken sandwich and chicken wings were awesome. It was my first time there, and it was very welcoming!“

“The food was great. Got and fresh like it should be. I enjoyed the chicken wings and fries. This was my introduction to the spicy margarita and it did not disappoint. I'm not a 49ers fan but they had the joint rocking. The staff was great and very attentive to everyone. Parking might be a bit of an issue on game day. We were able to fine a space in the lot at the end of the block.“

“Was here for St. paddy’s. The music was really fun and the drinks were strong. My biggest issue is that there is no food. Some of us have to eat to imbibe! Bathrooms needed some attention but it is a holiday. Thanks for the fun band for performing fun “

“I was craving something crunchy, so I ended up ordering the nachos as my entree and boy was that an entree plus 3. Those nachos are huge!! So definitely recommend sharing them with a group of people rather than trying it on your own, but they're pretty yummy. The elote was okay, probably would not get them again. They have a cool sportsy vibe inside and they also have a nice outside patio with heaters. I want to come back and try their happy hour!“
“La Rocca's is our home away from home, our living room but bigger, our third place. Whether we're coming here after a kickball win (more likely loss) or to close out a night out somewhere we can walk home from, this is the spot to be. Gabe, the weekend night bartender, is the absolute best. He'll make a quick drink or pour a quick beer while chatting with you about his dogs or the day as long as it's not too crowded. Dan on Wednesdays can also be known for his swiftness in beer pouring. Robbie is similarly personable and has stories to share. With a great selection of beers on tap as well as hard alcohol, I can't wait to return as soon as dry January concludes.“

“Still standing. Weekend bartenders and the bar tenders at the beginning and middle of the week are always great. They deserve bigger tips. The owner is kind. he works hard.Any one isnt broke will tell you it has by far the cleanest bathroom of any bar in sf (probaly the cleanest bathroom north of Santiago Chile ) and in the extremely rare case of silly drama, malarkey, and cartoonish antics outside or inside the bar they are easily and kindly defused by the door man especially the professional (the guy who’s about 5’10/5’11ish) that works weekends making the neighborhood very safe and welcoming at night.the patrons who frequently sit at the bar rarely drink too much.Unlike any bar in the area they have a fire hydrant infront clearly showing they care about public safetyThe food isn’t far. Great hot dogs near by outside and sometimes directly in front. It certainty beats bars in atherton and hillsborough, my god , the musicians, the mentally ill trouble makers And the degenerate animals those places service are sick.“

“My boyfriend and I discovered this bar a few weeks back after I finished working nearby. We weren't quite ready to make the hour drive back home, so we found ourselves exploring the area and this is one of the places we decided to stop by. Glad we did! Steve was bartending and he was friendly, attentive, and fun to socialize with. We enjoyed the atmosphere and good pours (and prices) and noticed that they have outdoor seating in addition to all of the space inside. We aren't in this area much, but it would def be a spot we'd stop back in next time we are around - it was a great experience and a fun way to end our terrific afternoon.“
