You start by picking your base: sushi rice, brown rice, or greens, then add your proteins with variety such was spicy salmon, tuna, shrimp, tilapia, tuna salad, tofu, etc. You can choose a spice level, and additional toppings such as edamame, corn, seaweed salad (so good), macaroni salad, crab, etc. I love to add spicy mayo and yuzu ponzo, plus eel sauce. Do not pass this place up!“

Meat is all very good quality with wonderful flavors.

This is my third time dining at Sushi Umami, and I’ve had a wonderful experience every time. I finally had to write a review because this place truly deserves the recognition!

The restaurant has a beautiful, elegant atmosphere, with tasteful decor, clean wooden tables, and cozy sofa booths. We were seated in one of the booths this time, which made our meal even more relaxing.

I especially love the beautiful tableware. Every plate, little bowl, and even the tiny sake cups is thoughtfully chosen and absolutely charming. Paired with the fresh, delicious food and beautiful presentation, everything is a feast for both the stomach and the eyes!

We particularly enjoyed the Truffle Hamachi, Uni Amaebi Don, Sake Steamed Clams, Sashimi Box, Omakase Nigiri & Sashimi, Double Toro Roll, and Triple S Roll. The staff were also friendly, gentle, and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout the meal.

With its delicious food, lovely atmosphere, warm service, and reasonable prices, Sushi Umami offers an all-around wonderful dining experience. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend this hidden gem in Milpitas!“

“I recently visited Taishoken Ramen and had an enjoyable dining experience overall. We ordered the regular ramen, the spicy ramen, and the chicken karaage.

The regular ramen was the standout of the meal. The broth was rich, well-balanced, and full of flavor, making it both comforting and satisfying. Every component complemented each other well, and it was a bowl I would gladly order again. The spicy ramen, however, fell a bit short of my expectations. While it certainly delivered on the spice level, the heat overwhelmed the broth, making it difficult to appreciate the depth of its flavor. I would have preferred a better balance between the spice and the overall taste of the ramen. The chicken karaage was excellent. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and made for a great appetizer alongside the ramen.
I had a positive experience and would happily return. Although the spicy ramen wasn’t my favorite, the quality of the regular ramen, the delicious karaage, and the welcoming atmosphere made the visit worthwhile. Next time, I’m looking forward to trying the signature dipping ramen, which I’ve heard is one of Taishoken’s specialties.“

“Our family loves Sumiya Bento in Milpitas. We eat here all the time. Once a week if possible! The food quality and service has always been consistently top notch!

We have also ate at the Sumiya Bento location in Santa Clara several times, but we prefer the Milpitas location! The skewers at the Milpitas location has always been juicy and cooked just right. For some reason everytime we eat the skewers at their Santa Clara location it has been dry and too charred/burnt. Not sure why.

So definitely give Sumiya Bento Milpitas a try! You won't regret it.“

“Went for lunch on a Saturday and it was a great deal (under $40!!) Had waygu meats/beef toro which all were very good and although it isn’t the highest quality meat I ever had (like A5 Waygu in Japan), I think you’re getting pretty close and it’s way cheaper. Also soda and dessert is included in the price as well! Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy waygu shabu shabu without spending too much!“

“We chose the Silver Tier at Sea Wagyu House and had a great experience. You order the meats and other dishes through a QR code and everything came out quickly--usually within just a few minutes.

They offered several kinds of sushi, and everything we tried was delicious. The meat was also very good. Our waitress cooked it for us, but you can cook it yourself if you prefer.

For dessert, I ordered the strawberry and banana crepe. It wasn't overly sweet, which I really liked, and it was a great way to finish the meal.

The restaurant has a modern atmosphere, and I especially liked the Japanese signs near the bar up on the ceiling. They looked really cool and reminded me of my time in Japan in Omoide Yokocho. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere was great.“

“Yaichi should definitely be more popular than it is. Food has always been quality and delicious. Not that many places around here for kaisendon ochazuke and Yaichi definitely hits the spot. Their udon is also super tasty and comes in a flavorful bonito broth. Price point is fair for the amount of food. Highly recommend this place!“

“Your average sushi restaurant with all the normal offerings. Their rolls were solid with a nice variety that's sort of repetitive with the filling but still overall not bad.

They do offer an all you can eat option but I haven't tried that yet. Pricing wise pretty standard as well so worth a visit if keen.“
