Good food and good service.

Being a native Cantonese, I can say this restaurant serves one of the most authentic Cantonese and Chiu Chow cuisines in the Bay Area. Chiu Chow cuisine originated in Chaoshan region in the eastern part of China's Guangdong province and it bears similarities to Fujian cuisine due to the similarities in both of their cultures, language and geographic proximity. It is rare to find an authentic Chiu Chow restaurant in the Bay Area nowadays. I was excited and gastronomically satisfied after two visits to the restaurant in January this year. Dishes that I tried and really enjoyed are the Chiu Chow specialty since it's not common to find it elsewhere in the South Bay: - House Fried Rice Chiu Chow Style - Fried Oysters Pancake - Stir-fried Beef in Chiu Chow Style Sauce - Fried Puning Tofu Other Cantonese dishes are equally good such as Braised Fillet of Fish in Clay Pot and Spinach in Preserved Eggs. During both visits, the servers were polite and courteous. I didn't have any problem using credit card at the restaurant. Highly recommend this restaurant to those who love Cantonese food and would like to sample Chiu Chow dishes which is not as well known outside Southern China. Note: the English name of this restaurant is misleading as the specialty of this restaurant is more on Chiu Chow/Cantonese dishes than noodles. I think there was a change of ownership last year and the English name of the restaurant was inherited from before.

Not returning. Walked in and left immediately after noticing the cash only sign. The server then stated immediately that they could take our credit card. Ordered, ate, and when the bill came, was told that they didn't take credit cards. Had to then walk around to find the nearest ATM frustratingly, and less than an hour after, terrible gastrointestinal issues

I tried this place once with a friend and I am obsessed ever since. I enjoyed the good vibes and fresh dishes and drinks. 5 stars from me.

Food was ok. Service was not that ok. Clay pot had meat with just bones. We could not even finish it. Hk style noodle was ok. I might not know the taste ok hk style so it might be supposed to taste that way so i might be wrong. We ordered pork with tofu, it looked like tofu with pork with barely 6 pieces of pork. Will not be coming back.

Pretty good taste of all the dishes. The big Square-shaped soup bowl is sitting in the center of the table, and is heated underneath to boiling. Then you can selectively add the meats, vegetables and whatever prepared into the spoiled soup, as well as whatever you'd like on the table... After the soup spoiling again, you just pickup whatever in the bow, and just concentrately enjoy the wonderful tastes \\u0026 smells ? ...

Overall very nice experience. Wasn't expecting too much from the name so pleasantly surprised. Looks like a very nice Cantonese style restaurant.

Highly recommended. We went there for Thanksgiving dinner tonight, the foods are delicious, the service is superior, the waiters are very nice. We had a good time there!

Very salty. No best fresh meat either. so so cornbeef fried rice (came first before the main dish :( ) as the famous dish just ok. Tea is very good. For picky Asians like us, won't come back. Service is good.

Authentic Chinese dishes! I went here for team lunch with my coworkers. We arrived at 12pm and after 12:30, it was super crowded! Seems like a popular restaurant. I loved their pork dish (not sure about the name...) Most dishes are oily but the price wasn't bad. We ordered about 8 dishes and it was around $140 for 6 people to be really full!

It changed to a different cuisine - and not a legitimate one. The duck and veggies are not fresh and my friend ended up going to bathroom 10+ times after eating here. Also poor quality at this price point.

Taste is not good. Very oily. Plus the price is really high. Ordered 2 dish + 1 small soup costs $74?!!! Insane price. Won't come back again.

It's like a secret they don't want ABCs like me to know. It still says "Kung Fu Noodle" in English but the Chinese sign says "Golden Island" (YES! My years of suffering in Chinese school finally has paid off!). Like others have said, the menu has completely changed. We were told that it's the same owner but a new chef. It was a pleasant surprise - everyone in the family - including my picky 2nd gen children - enjoyed it. Highlights from our family-style meal: - the Peking Duck w/Buns: not too fatty. Good portions, fluffy buns. Wish the skin was crispier - house fried rice: a must get. Not too greasy. It's "Chiu Chow" style so if you like bacon (who doesn't?!), you'll like this rice. And to top it off, they ended the meal with "tang yuan" instead of the red bean dessert/soup that is so typical of Chinese restaurants. Bonus points for that!

Recently went here for dinner. They ran out of a few dishes that we wanted to try, including the peking duck. The staff also offered our neighboring tables dessert for them to pay cash, but this was not offered to as there was a line waiting and they want to churn the tables quick. Not happy with the service and how they treat their guest, especially since a tofu dish is $16 bucks here. At this price point, I expect better service. I rather go to Mayflower since they do not value my business.
