-Sushi:
We ordered yellowtail, albacore, and salmon sushi and they were unbelievably fresh, with each bite melting like butter. The quality of the fish was outstanding, and my boyfriend especially loved their salmon.

-Calamari Tempura:
It was crispy, and cooked to perfection. It came with a refreshing salad, and the house-made dressing added a burst of flavor that tied it all together.

- Baked Lobster Roll:One of my favorites! It was perfectly balanced and full of rich, satisfying flavors.
- Aloha Roll:A must try!, with just the right amount of spiciness, making each bite extra enjoyable.
- Salmon Roll:This roll was also incredibly fresh, with every bite bursting with flavor. I couldn’t recall the exact name because I was too busy savoring every mouthful!
- Monster Roll:It was packed with bold flavors and had the perfect harmony—absolutely delicious.

“This apple bees is great! The food here is delicious at a good price! We got the 2 for 25 haha, the grill cheese burger with the tomatoes soup is delicious! My wife got the cheeseburger and was also delicious but not as much as the grill cheese burger lol. Drinks where good too! We got their special holiday drink and then some beers. The service was great and our waiter was in good spirit which is rare and understandable during the holidays. We eneded up getting a nice view too!”

“I was and raised in east la/montebello. I have gone to so many bakeries in the area and surrounding areas and have NEVER ever everrrr found a bakery like Chapala. Every single item is fresh! Delicious! Mouth watering. It is so good it is addicting. Place is so clean and nicely organized. I have never even seen a fly. Stop going to your usual bakery and come try this, you will not be disappointed! No questions asked THIS is the best of the best!”

“Very cute little local dessert place. All the desserts are made fresh. My girlfriend and I were just looking for a sweet treat and found this place. We got a crème brule, a carrot cake, a macaroon and two iced teas. The iced teas are made fresh and then put over ice. They were very good. My gf got a passion fruit one and I got got mint. We would definitely come again. And the workers I think are the owners but they were super nice and even asked us to try the teas before we left to make sure we were happy with them. Would definitely come back”

“We’ve been getting cakes at this place for around 4-6 years I believe. The cakes have always been moist, soft, and extremely delicious/flavorful. A birthday cake we got of chocolate w/ strawberry filling tasted amazing but a bit dry (that was the only time that happened). We love that the frostings aren’t so sugary to the point that it’s obnoxious. It’s just perfectly balanced. My favs are the fruit tarts & vanilla cake w/mixed fruit filling. We have tasted the vanilla w/ mango cake and it’s phenomenal!! We recently tried the cream and custard puffs & they were light and creamy, 10/10 recommend. We have bought cakes here for dinner gatherings with friends & they’ve enjoyed the cakes too, always asking where we buy them. It’s true that the bakery “appearance wise” would appreciate a nice upkeep since it looks a bit old fashioned/worn out but it’s always clean and organized so it doesn’t bother us. It’s honestly a gem hidden in Montebello :)

“I had an hour in between appointments in Montebello, really surprised to stumble at this mom & pop Mexican restaurant. It had four 4-person tables inside and an authentic vibe for locals. I ordered a Special Plate for 2 fish soft tacos that was served with rice & bean and a small drink for $10. I didn't think much of it at first, the portion was big. It was so delicious that ate the whole thing. I loved everything about this restaurant, definitely will come back again with my family.”

Walking in I was warmly greeted by both the staff and the intoxicating aroma of carne on the grill. Took me a minute to decide what I wanted, the menu options are quite a bit. Ended up going with a chile relleno burrito and green chile / cheese tamale. The burrito was a banger, definitely get it again though I got my eye on trying the ribs and posole the next time I go.
Pro tip - get the habanero sauce. That heat was heavenly!”

“Best doughnuts bar none. The doughnuts are soft, fluffy, and glazed to perfection. The croissant sandwiches are incredible.They have breakfast sandwiches as well as boba. I buy a dozen doughnuts for my office and they all can't get enough. The owners are always kind and friendly. Been coming here for years and I always recommend it. This morning was packed but with their fast friendly service the line went down quickly and with a smile. The owners always wish you luck if you buy a lotto ticket. I got the soup of the day and was recomended a gyro by Nick himself. My buddy got burger and fries. Everything was seasoned excellently and with attention to detail.

The soup hit the spot and the gyro filled me up and when we were just about finished with our meal Nick's wife brought us some lemon cake she baked herself it was awesome.

If you're in Montebello looking for some Greek food I highly suggest checking them out.

“I first visited this place five years ago, and it was amazing—one of my favorite taco spots in L.A. I’d been wanting to try it again, and recently, while visiting SoCal, I had the chance to stop by. While it’s still pretty good, it doesn’t quite feel like it used to. The tacos are smaller now, as is the trend with most places in L.A. I’m not sure what happened, but I’m guessing one of the main tortilla distributors started making them smaller, promoting it as a selling point so that trucks don’t have to use as much meat and ingredients. What surprised me here, though, is that the tortillas are handmade and yet they started making them smaller. I still enjoy them—they really are the closest thing to a Tijuana-style taco. The flavor is excellent, and the guacamole is fantastic! All in all, it is still worth it to make the drive because where else can you get handmade tortillas and thick, gloppy guac? Here!”

I was a little concerned but after trying both, they’re worth every penny. The fish and shrimp tacos here were honestly the best, freshest fish and shrimp tacos I’ve had in a while. “I've been enjoying Happy Family for years. I'm always well taken care of. Plates i frequently have are shrimp rolls, soup dumplings, house fried rice, house chow mein, three delights, kung pao chicken, mongolian beef, honey walnut shrimp, egg flower soup and hot & sour soup. Sometimes i do have to ask for a waiter for a refill or more steamed rice but i'm used to it. The staff are great people omce you get to know them. They all deserve good tips especially with the affordable cost of their large portions.”

“We are from out of town, been to our far share of Sushi places. This place is a GREAT! Small business restaurant. The owner (who also makes the sushi) came and spoke with us. Their new boba options are amazing. They are also serving cocktails. Sushi was high quality, and very YUMMY. We did the AYCE.”
