“Went here with my colleagues last March 13, 2025 (Thursday). We were living close to this place in Applebees Montebello. Looks very cozy, perfect vibe if you wanted a chill time with your friends or family. Food and service are superb! They were quick and attentive to our orders. Has a mini bar, lots of chairs for dine in. Given that we were huge group, they were still able to give a great service. Will definitely come back!”

“Out of everything we ordered our best plate was Pulpitos Cora (baby octopus) the flavor of the sauce was amazing. Everyone liked the cucumber lemonade. Just a heads up when it's time to pay you are asked cash or card, you're not told but with card you are charged almost $5 more vs paying cash.”

-Sushi:
We ordered yellowtail, albacore, and salmon sushi and they were unbelievably fresh, with each bite melting like butter. The quality of the fish was outstanding, and my boyfriend especially loved their salmon.

-Calamari Tempura:
It was crispy, and cooked to perfection. It came with a refreshing salad, and the house-made dressing added a burst of flavor that tied it all together.

- Baked Lobster Roll:One of my favorites! It was perfectly balanced and full of rich, satisfying flavors.
- Aloha Roll:A must try!, with just the right amount of spiciness, making each bite extra enjoyable.
- Salmon Roll:This roll was also incredibly fresh, with every bite bursting with flavor. I couldn’t recall the exact name because I was too busy savoring every mouthful!
- Monster Roll:It was packed with bold flavors and had the perfect harmony—absolutely delicious.

- Our server was kind and friendly, making the experience even better. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews about their service—we had a great time and felt well taken care of.”

“We have been to Golden Skewer many times in the past, but had not been here for several years (don't know why not). But it was my birthday and Mediterranean food sounded good. We were pleasantly surprised by the updated decor, and the menu had a few items I didn't remember seeing previously . . . we found out that the ownership changed a few years ago.

We shared a Greek salad, which was very fresh (and was enough for a party of 4 to share, although there were only two of us). I had the chicken kabob plate which was excellent, and chose only the rice pilaf, but was offered a choice of two sides. There are plenty of entrees to choose from -- and they all look good!

Pita and hummus was complimentary. We were not rushed in any way.

The restaurant has a large banquet room (we held my father-in-law's 80th birthday party here in 2003) and there was a large birthday party in progress, but you wouldn't really know it except for the folks entering the restaurant and heading to the back.

Golden Skewer is an excellent choice . . . prices are modest and the service was very attentive.”

“This is a nice Carl's jr location to visit. It's always clean inside and the dining area is never too crowed. It seems this location gets much more drive-thru visitors than dine-in. They don't usually have many specials or discounts advertised in store but if you use the Carl's jr mobile app you will find a lot more discounts, specials, and bogo deals. So it's worth it to checkout the app before visiting or placing an order. They have self serve drink machines also which is nice. This location is a longstanding landmark in Montebello. It opened back when the plaza was built in the 1990's and its always had a good reputation.”

“We’ve been getting cakes at this place for around 4-6 years I believe. The cakes have always been moist, soft, and extremely delicious/flavorful. A birthday cake we got of chocolate w/ strawberry filling tasted amazing but a bit dry (that was the only time that happened). We love that the frostings aren’t so sugary to the point that it’s obnoxious. It’s just perfectly balanced. My favs are the fruit tarts & vanilla cake w/mixed fruit filling. We have tasted the vanilla w/ mango cake and it’s phenomenal!! We recently tried the cream and custard puffs & they were light and creamy, 10/10 recommend. We have bought cakes here for dinner gatherings with friends & they’ve enjoyed the cakes too, always asking where we buy them. It’s true that the bakery “appearance wise” would appreciate a nice upkeep since it looks a bit old fashioned/worn out but it’s always clean and organized so it doesn’t bother us. It’s honestly a gem hidden in Montebello :)

“For us, it was an out of the way place. We don't live near any of the places. It's on a very busy street. I searched on Google Maps for zucchini, and this place popped up. Looked delicious on the pictures. I'm a zucchini fanatic. I had the Frisco burger combo. Fries and a drink added. My wife had the breakfast burrito with a drink as well. The Frisco burger was very well cooked, and sourdough bread was grilled. Onion and cheese were melted on it to perfection. My wife's bacon burrito was well cooked and crispy inside like she likes it. Let's get to the zucchini now. Long thin/thick pieces seasoned with their tasty seasoning. Inside was juicy and soft. I'm used to crispy, crunchy outsides, but this place has a good amount of pieces on their order. Tasty inside and out. If I'm near this place in the future, I will come back... ?????

I got the soup of the day and was recomended a gyro by Nick himself. My buddy got burger and fries. Everything was seasoned excellently and with attention to detail.

The soup hit the spot and the gyro filled me up and when we were just about finished with our meal Nick's wife brought us some lemon cake she baked herself it was awesome.

If you're in Montebello looking for some Greek food I highly suggest checking them out.

I had the pineapple rice plate and they were flexible enough to change the chicken for tofu. My mother had garlic chicken, which she loved. Also the flavor on the rice that came with the garlic chicken was apparently really good as well, my mother will usually have a strong disdain for rice. I enjoyed and had no nagging complaints from mother. Win, win.

“If you come to Sergio’s, you HAVE to get a wet burrito. They’re super delicious. Now I will say the cook who’s at the grill tends to matter a lot. Sometimes they have some of the younger crew running the grills and the food just doesn’t have that consistent quality. However, for the most part their wet burritos and Sopes overall are the hitters at Sergio’s. They’re so good. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and I’ll keep coming back. If you’ve tasted Sergio’s on Garfield and Olympic it does not even compare, the Vail location wet burritos are a must try.”
