“Great Dim Sum spot for classic dim sum food and not too long on wait for a table.”
“A nice place for 3-4 friends to hang out! Food is good! Especially purple taro w/ cheese, soooo good! They have a variety choice of wine. Love it! Will definitely come back”
“A real gem of a place among a lot of average Chinese restaurants in this area. The Peking duck itself is done in a style that seems authentic to Beijing, though it may not suit everyone's tastes especially those with a canto preference. Majority of the banquet restaurants in SGV have a Cantonese slant to Peking duck dishes (lotus buns, sweeter hoisin sauce, slightly more caramelized skins) but I'm not trying to draw too much of a comparison here as its just fundamentally different.
Duck House was fantastic in terms of flavor and preparation of the duck. The skin was super crispy, the meat tasted fairly lean yet succulent, and the sauce/condiments paired very well. Delicious, and upscale, though I would say for one duck and only 10 pancakes, it was nearly $100 and I don't think it was so outstanding to warrant that price. We added 5 lotus buns and 5 add'l pancakes which bumped it to $110. It did however feed 3 adults and 2 young kids fully, so about $20 pp is pretty decent for fancy duck.”
“Best sushi in LA! Everything melted in your mouth! The fish is fresh, the price is affordable, and the service is great! It looks like a hole in the wall - but wow :)) We eat there once a week and love it! Drove all the way from Studio City to have dinner there - 2 hours each way in traffic - so that's obviously what it says :)) Haha Just love it!”

“Excellent service. Great beer. Great food. I Love the ambiance.”
“Endroit hyper typique ! Bonne musique, cocktails d’un excellent niveau et à un prix tout à fait honnête, tous les classiques sont dispo et le barman tient la corde niveau cordes vocales !! Excellente carte de dîner ! Nous n’avons pas testé le grill … seul regret de la soirée. Il faut qu’on y retourne, absolument”

“Everything we had here was fantastic! I loved the mango iced tea because it actually tastes like mangos, the chicken was nice and crunchy on the outside, juice and delicious on the inside. We also had xiao baos and their dry noodles with peanut butter sauce which were both fantastic! I would recommend against getting their devils hot sauce unless you have like an amazing spice tolerance! I thought my spice tolerance was fine because i can handle tapatio and valentina easily but this sauce left me chugging my drink and feeling the chili under my tongue for hours!”
“First time every eating in a restaurant on a styrafoam plate, but it didn't take away from my meal. Tried out their noodles with beef and I found it to be quite tasty with the sauce. Small simple little place, tempted to return for their breakfast and evening specials”

“I enjoyed this place a lot. It was a little bit hard to find at first, as it is located above the supermarket. The server was very friendly, helping me to find a good vegetarian option. The cold sesame noodles were tasty and refreshing, and the price is not bad ($8.99). The dining area is spacious and comfortable.”
“Cute dessert spot that feels reminiscent of classic HK/TW dessert shops. We came on a Saturday night and were seated right away—no wait. It’s largely a self-service experience (ordering straight from the menu and servers are basically just runners).
Prices are a little on the high side, but kudos to them for delivering dishes that actually look like the photos. Therefore, there are plenty of Instagram-worthy items for those looking for that! Good experience, but not necessarily a repeatable one.
(For taste, I do recommend the mango/grape dessert - though that’s not as unique as the other items).”

“My family and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant! We ate here a total of 3 times during a 5 day trip as it was so delicious each time! We ordered the french style filet mignon, fried fish with corn sauce, steamed organic chicken, fish maw soup, shrimp with yau choy, and steamed meatloaf with salty fish. I highly recommend the lunch special as it ranges from ~$12.99-$16.99 and it includes soup and rice. For a Chinese restaurant, the service was above average. We appreciated the knowledgeable staff about their dishes, and great service when serving soups. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. They have open area seating as well as private rooms for your needs.”
“Pssing through. Hilton Hotel in Montebello said tgey had the best pizza around. Very true. Loved the New York.”
“Great atmosphere overall (more of a young dark ambient vibe), though the wait was long — over 40 minutes when I arrived around 8 p.m. on a Saturday. The Yelp online waitlist worked, but it felt a bit odd to use.
The food has a very distinct flavor profile — not exactly my taste, but my family really enjoyed the variety of dishes. Personally, I only liked the fried rice and tofu skewers. The food itself isn’t bad at all; it’s just got a very unique flavor style that may not suit everyone.
I liked the digital menu and ordering system — it’s convenient — but the food took quite a while to arrive after placing our order. The staff were kind and attentive, which I appreciated. Seating, however, was not very comfortable; the chairs were light and tended to shift even with small movements.”

“I could give it a 3 because it wasn't wow per se but we just expected a bit more. The food is on point and we aren’t used to how authentic it was nor really experienced a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. Was excited to try thinking we can pick up some traditional regular Chinese breakfast items but realized reading the menu on the glass after walking here from our hotel that the breakfast they offered wasn't what we envisioned it to be. Thinking it would be some Chinese pastries we can take back to the hotel like dantat or buns or even some dimsum items. They didn't have any of that but more a sit down hot meatier and heavier items. So there was another older Chinese lady looking at the menu outside and she too said oh this is Taiwanese kind of breakfast and then walked away. I didn't know what to say to her either lol
Anyways we still wanted to get something especially since the owners saw us staring at the menu for so long and no one was really inside either lol so I ordered soybean milk sweet and hot and a fried dough stick to dip. Got two buns to try and took it to go. The milk wasn't bad not too sweet but it wasn't the best I've had either. I did like the fried dough stick especially when hot and fresh. The other 2 buns were ok too. Flaky not bad. Authentic. Red bean and sesame. Price was ok too.
Would I come back? Not sure. There are so many other places to try. I really loved our hotel next door and how close it was to all these fun shops and eateries. That I will come back to.
If you happen around this area pop into try. The owners seem nice but because I couldn't converse as well as I wanted to it got a tad awkward. It was fun though !”
“I needed some afternoon boba, so I stopped by this Sunright location. This store is located in a plaza with other businesses and it was busy during the time. However, I was able to find ground level parking. Inside the store wasn’t busy though, since I was able to order at the self kiosk right away. The kiosk had an images, so it easy to reference what to get. It was ready within two minutes. I got the Oreo Brulee boba milk tea (regular ice, fresh milk, 50% sweetness, with agar boba). It was a good drink option, especially if you are craving something sweet. This store does have a reward system if you put your phone number, so take advantage of that! American Express is accepted.”
“I've passed by this place many times. Sometimes there's limes of people. Always wanted to try their char siu bao. They have both steamed and baked types. I bought both types. I usually like the baked type more. But here both were good but I preferred the steamed ones more.”
“I saw this spot had great reviews and I was craving wings. A chicken wing or boneless wing restaurant.
I had their bim bim bap and it was delicious. I opted for the boneless soy garlic and lemon pepper. They were both cooked perfectly and the flavor was on point. So good I didn’t need much sauce. Overall a solid lunch.
I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.”
“Parking was good. Food is good for reasonable cost. Service is good. No sign on the back door so you can't tell if it's the correct place. I had yellow chicken curry. It was good tasting with good, but not perfectly cooked chicken. The curry is very watery. I used 2/3 of it, and it made my rice an unpleasant soggy consistency. Spice level is pretty spot on.”
“From the outside this looks like a hole in the wall place in a strip mall but inside it's huge and magical! We had a party of 200 people in there and there was still areas for other pattons.
Aside from most of the staff not speaking English to tell us what we were eating when it was brought out we figured it out and everything was uniquely different in its own way!
I usually take food pics but I didn't this time! P.S beer was only 5 bucks a bottle!”
“I came here for the ZZZ collab and was very impressed with the food quality and service. Despite being a very busy day, both employees were so hard-working and efficient, while still being helpful and courteous. They are generous with the cream fillings here (which I love!), and all the flavors we had were delicious - fresh, light, balanced, not too sweet. I would love to visit again. Highly recommend.”
“The food and services are excellent. We eat here every time we visit!”
“25 years ago was my first visit and I'm still a regular. My kids practically grew up loving authentic Japanese food because of the kindness of the owners and the care with which they make the food.
It's a relaxing restaurant.”

“Can't beat the tea time special while it lasts. Down to $10 for egg spam sandwich plus red bean ice?! The usual wonton noodle at $14 with same drink. The regular menu is very good. Top tier at HK cafe level. Some day will make it there early for their breakfast but meanwhile late lunch is excellent choice 7 days a week.”
“S [must try / 一定要吃到]
- not a restaurant anymore!!!! you come here to buy shabu shabu meat (best in town)
- you can request fatty or lean for your beef
- I appreciate how they will put ice for you if you live far away
- speak Mandarin and English
- insanely good quality meat with huge tray (highly recommend the 3 lb as its good for party of 4+)
- meat prices changed a lot throughout the year (last time I went it was 30$ for 3 LB beef in 2024 Oct)
TLDR: BUY HOT POT BEEF SLICES HERE. HIGH CP VALUE. VERY WORTH. ORDER 3 LB AND THANK ME LATER.”
“Best buns and dumplings in Southern California. They make wonders with flour and pork. They also don’t speak English, so I normally just point at the menu. Nothing is bad on the menu except the seafood. If you get something fried, try to dine in to get the texture right. If you get fennel buns, make sure you like the taste of fennel because there’s nothing subtle about that one. Pork and cabbage is the safest bet.”
“Visited here 2 weeks ago.. the vibe is awesome. The location is tiny but a great use of space and great energy. Shout out to Cindy she is a rockstar! I think Monday nights with Mindy are the best kept secret at this place. Thanks for bringing joy and care into the world through painting (and Boba)... See you soon!”
“The best skewers ever. We drove seven or eight hours from Northern California to eat. The ingredients are fresh and taste great. There is a man who looks like the boss and is very nice. We were served quickly knowing we were hungry. Thank you for the delicious food. See you next month.”
“Haven’t been here in a long while and kinda forgot about it. But my parents wanted to go specifically for some garlic crab. And it did not disappoint! One of the better Cantonese style Chinese restaurants in the SGV! I would absolutely come more often now. Whoever cooked on 8/15 dinner time, chefs kiss.
Garlic crab was delicious. Although crab is so tedious to eat like this, it was really good. Beef filet cubes were super flavorful and so tender. Not chewy at all like other Chinese restaurants make it. The lobster was my favorite. Black pepper seasoning was not too overpowering and the basil added such a nice aroma. Green beans were amazing. Perfect amount of wok char flavor and spice. Salt and pepper squid was fried perfectly, not chewy or tough at all. Clams were tasty but for this one you gotta enjoy bittermelon. If you don’t, stick with the clams and black bean sauce. Fried tofu was good, soy sauce with it just needed some chili. Beef chow fun was delicious, you can taste the wok char, noodles were perfect texture, we said no bean sprouts so they kindly added Chinese broccoli for us. The fried rice was good but lacking on something. I would definitely try a different fried rice next time.
Service - keeping in mind it’s a Chinese restaurant, they were still sooooo nice! Attentive with tea and switching plates. Food came out quick. They brought napkins and checked on us. We enjoyed our dining experience.
Parking - free small lot in this little plaza. Didn’t have an issue with parking at all. I’m sure if they got busy, parking might be a smidge difficult. But we had no issues with 3 cars.”
“This place is an amazing dining experience. A great alternative to Korean bbq or hot pot, you order different skewers and let them cook in front of you, then enjoy. All the different meats and vegetables were delicious and offered lots of variety so there is something for everyone. The grill automatically twirls the kebobs giving an even cook, and the sauces and spices are very flavorful. Very helpful staff and clean interior.”

“I picked up 5 different skewers, cucumber salad and white rice and all was super delicious. I can see where ordering over phone will be a problem if you don’t speak Chinese. Food is bomb though and plan to go back soon.”
“There are only so many Korean spots in Monterey Park, so I come to Lee's every now and then for some Korean comfort food. Even though the menu prices are a little higher than your average Korean meal, the service and taste never misses. I love the tofu soups, kimbap, cold noodles, and ban chan. Also can't go wrong with any of their meats or variety of entrees they have!”
Takeout Restaurants
“This place is unassuming, but then they sucker punch you with HANDS DOWN the BEST WONTON NOODLES EVER. I have yet to eat more perfect wonton noodles with dumplings. The broth is simple and clean and delicious and the dumplings are amazinngggg as well. I have gotten multiple dishes here and have had the most awesome taste bud adventures.
If you're not a noodle person (le gasp), you can't go wrong with the curry and the hainan chicken. I don't know how they do it. The food is rich in flavor but I don't feel greasy or anything after eating it. I guess it's just super fresh ingredients, homemade, and skillfully cooked food. Try it to believe it!!”
“I was riding my bike from DTLA to Riverside one hot afternoon in August and I needed a bike friendly place with an authentic Hong Kong vibe.
Hong Kong Cafe turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
I had the HK style coffee + milk tea on ice with an order of Ovaltine French toast as a bite.
It hit the spot, and the price was comparable to what you'd pay for the same product at a similar restaurant in Hong Kong city.
Would definitely recommend it and go again.”
“Quaint little restaurant that serves delicious meals at a reasonable price. A friend of mine brought me and I enjoyed it very much! It’s the kind of place that makes you feel at home and I’m not even Asian lol. Thanks for the delicious meal to Fortune No 1, May you receive much fortune to come!”

“Traditional Taiwanese dishes served in a banquet setting. That’s a first - I have only seen Taiwanese food served in casual restaurants and cafes.
Menu is expansive and every dish we ordered tasted authentic. Best stinky tofu I’ve had outside of Taiwan.”
“Place specialize in hand pulled noodles and home made dumplings. Very authentic. Recommend the lamb noodles. Just visited again. As delicious as ever. I would love the owners to replace the plasticware with ceramic again. Always weird to eat out plasticware at a restaurant.”

“If you love freshly made Taiwanese bread, cakes, and pastries, this bakery in the San Gabriel Valley is a must-visit. Their cakes are fluffy and moist, with frosting that’s smooth and never overly sweet—unlike many American or Korean cakes, which can be too sugary. The balance is perfect every time, and when fruit toppings are used, you can tell they carefully select the best fruits for an extra-special touch.
Their Taiwanese breads and pastries are equally impressive—fluffy, soft, and delicious without being overly salty or heavy. The sandwiches are also fantastic, making this bakery my go-to spot for both sweet and savory favorites.
The bakery is well managed and clearly takes pride in its offerings. Inside, there’s an instant noodle ramen shop where you can make your own meal on the go with plenty of seating, plus a coffee and boba shop for a complete experience.
If you’re in Alhambra, San Gabriel, Rosemead, or even nearby LA, this place is worth the trip. If you’re spending your money on food, spend it right—this bakery delivers every time.”
“I came here with a friend right after watching a movie in the nearby theater. The churros are otherworldly. Neither in Venezuela, nor in Spain would you find better churros (I'd know, I've been to both countries). The prices are incredibly reasonable too. The side toppings are varied, caramel and sweetened condensed milk are the two that stood out to me the most but you can also go for Nutella, amongst others. 10/10”
“This place has the most delicious food ive ever eaten. Im being real. I don't even live nearby but I get this as often as I can just so I can eat the chicken taquitos. If I was on death row my last meal request would be the taquitos. I dream about them. Im being serious. Go here. Get taquitos. And then think to yourself wow I wish I had gotten these taquitos earlier in my life, how much taquito-ing have I missed out on by not getting these more often!??!! Also the workers are really nice and it's a small business and you already know about supporting small businesses. Forreal.”

“The frozen dumplings here are so tasty, the Henan-style braised noodles are authentic, and the side dishes are amazing too. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!”
“Surprisingly great food, my picky girlfriend and myself enjoyed the crispy mushrooms with other items. NOTE
There is free parking in the underground garage. Two entrance points.”
“Very impressed with the product selections here! Very high quality herbal products such as teas, chinese medicines, chinese herbs, food ingredients, alcohol products, and so on! You can find different prices range from high end to affordable there. I purchased some teas and they are packaged well and tasted really good and authentic. Employees seem very knowledgeable in their products. Im impressed! This designer approved! :)”

“My family and I frequent here quite often and every single time, the drinks were on point! Thai tea, Thai-chata, strawberry vortex, pineapple escape, milky way taro, polar pomegranate are just a few that I've tried and would recommend but everything including food is so good. Their customer service is also great! Always a pleasant experience for us. We've "cheated" and have gone to other boba places when traveling but it's not the same. Twisteas definitely has our loyalty!”
“I just came across this place by chance and got interested in ‘rice noodles’ and never had any dish from Guilin before. I was pleasantly surprised to find a gems of cuisine! The owners are super-friendly and especially generous condiment booth much more so than any restaurants I’d seen. Plus the price is super economical. Because of such pleasant personalities and exceptional services of the owner couple, it makes the ambiance so unique and very cozy to dine in. Not to mention the taste of the dish is great! I love the chewy round rice noodles that seems to be hand-made. It reminds me of simple noodles made laboriously I encountered in a remote village in Laos where they called it ‘Khao Pun’ made fro slightly fermented rice that was pounded, steam and pounded again so the texture is soft but chewy. It came in delicious meat sauce. I got pork belly and beef ribs. I was surprised that beef ribs were debone making it very pleasant to eat. This place is a rare find and I’ll be back to try other dishes again”
“I had the chicken bibimbap, and it was delicious. Their sauce was killer, too. The staff was really nice. One of them brought out the food for me with utensils and napkins. Excellent service. It is open-door seating at a golf course, so it was a nice, relaxing atmosphere. I really recommend eating here. They also have burgers, but I love their Korean food options.”
“Absolutely the smallest place you can imagine. 90% kitchen for the owner (?) to work in. A tiny bench, no ventilation inside. No indoor/outdoor dining...
But this place is ALL ABOUT THE FOOD!!!
Great sushi!!!
Excellent price, due to little overhead costs!!!
Get your food and enjoy it wherever you want, probably not inside though.
The slices of salmon are excellent!!! Fat and thick!!!
Eel is excellent!!!
It is recommended you order ahead, he is a solo team and is hard at work in the kitchen!!!
The only thing I wished for is some kind of chicken bowl. He already has the rice, he just needs to toss some chicken into a pan...but I understand he specializes in sushi and doesn't want added complexity to his operation.
I highly recommend this place!!!”
“Absolutely amazing experience at Shinano! 🍣
We ordered sashimi, six different rolls, and tempura — everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor (my faves were the Cajun Salmon Roll + Salmon Lava Roll - not pictured because I dug in immediately 💀). The sashimi melted in our mouths, the rolls were creative and delicious, and the tempura was light and perfectly crisp. 😍
Did I mention they have a BOGO 50% off on rolls right now? 👀 (STEAL!) AND you have a chance to win a Labubu with a $50+ purchase? Bummer that I didn’t win it, but it was still fun to spin the wheel. 😁
Friendly service with an authentic ambience, which made it even better. 10/10 recommend. 🤩

“This is a gem in the rough place. Super enjoyable atmosphere. There are tons of chinese restaurants around the corner, most of them are over priced and below average quality. This place is reasonably priced, easy parking and good quality food. My favorite place to hang out for lunch of dinner.”

“Lobster noodle special $16.99 is only available with minimum purchase $20 or more also the noodle and sides additional, $26 roasted duck has a minimum of 3 main course purchase and only available evening. The tea taste was very generic, charged my 10yrs old tea count(told me all tea count over 4yrs old), old school dim sum cart is authentic and give it a thumbs up because a lot of restaurants are no longer doing dim sum carts no more. Haven’t tried other seafood yet, but the noodle with lobster was too small and over fried, that’s what you may get for a special I guess. Total gross charge of $60-$6tax-$6tea count= $48 net with 4 dim sum flat fee of $5 plus a lobster noodle for 4 people sounds very fair. Only need to improve the food and tea quality bit more toward a higher end quality seafood restaurant with more attractive pricing.”
“This place is a very nice place to eat at because its outdoors and its cooked fresh. It is also very kid friendly with kids meals. You can also get a canes card and you can download the app to have deals.i recommend this place and the chicken fingers and their specialty sauce.”
“This place is great. The food is pretty good and service is kinda slow at times but on rare occasions. I usually order the Beef Upgraded Soup and it doesn't disappoint me. The price for it is kinda on the expensive side due to inflation. The atmosphere feels a bit crowded since they do have lots of seating but in a small restaurant. I do recommend if you're in the area to give it a try if it's not out of your way. Overall, good experience and will come back again soon.”
