I ordered the daily special, BBQ Ribs with potato salad and garlic bread. The ribs looked like they tasted, boiled and lacking flavor from a "BBQ". They boiled it and kissed it with a grill. The presentation is poor and after eating half of one, I was DONE! The service was also subpar, they are rushing you and extremely short with words. Hard pass on this spot. The overall ambiance of the place is cool, it has potential, they just need to slow down and make what they know. Adding.... I spoke with the chef and shared my opinions. He was very receptive. He offered to correct the meal, I didn't have an appetite, so maybe next time.

If you enjoy being ignored when you ask a question, this is a great place to dine. The food is acceptable, whereas the service can be uncooperative or dismissive. The prices are very reasonable.Vegetarian options: Very fewParking: Parking is not close byWheelchair accessibility: It is not wheelchair accessibleDietary restrictions: Very few options

The best chicken tenders with BBQ sauce and grilled chicken sandwiches within walking distance. Very convenient between classes.

I always have lunch at cafe del monte. The staffs are nice and kind. Especially the chef and the man who gets orders. Their cheeseburger is one of the best. I think there are 3 number one burger in LA. Innout, five guys and Cafe del monte. I highly recommend you to try their cheeseburger.

I get the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, both of which are top quality! The chef is very friendly as well.

Food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Also, can't beat the price! My favorite healthy option is the Thai chicken salad, but I can't ever pass up the chicken tender special when they have it.

Easy and convenient for NPS students and staff. Hours are limited but provides both breakfast and lunch options. There's often a long line but it moves quickly.

Cafe Del Monte, aka: The Loveshack, is on the campus of Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. This cafe fulfills all pertinent attributes of a university eatery. A standalone "portable" immediately adjacent to the library and Starbucks, it offers outdoor seating and a variety of basic eating and drinking choices for students and faculty alike. At a very reasonable cost, everyone on the spectrum from healthy eating to throwing back a burger and fries can find something to enjoy. Let me make this abundantly clear, the food is good, the menu is good, the service is excellent, and it fills the niche of being a basic "blocking and tackling" on-campus cafe. This is not fine-dining and you will not find waiters and waitresses. What you will find is good food for everyone without breaking the bank because you forgot your lunch at home. P.S. the Friday Fish Tacos are epic...you have to try them.

Solid for students and staff at NPS! The servers really make you feel welcome and they enjoy their job. Food is pretty good, far better than any government facility.
