The literal best cafe experience in all of Monterey! Tina is AMAZING! So kind and really helps to create the magical atmosphere. The pretzel and the sauces are incredible — the best we have had! Love how local everything is too :) secret

What an unnecessary situation.Happy Thanksgiving.I understand the frustration of having to work today and multitasking at the same time. But there is no need to escalate a simple misunderstanding.The two starts were for the good pastries.I was ordering and the male cashier started doing other things at the same time, he served the items in a bag that I did not order and said that I did. The female attendant backs him on that. But I was not alone, it was my mother, my nephew, and I. We started looking at each other in disbelief.Not enough, while serving us the drinks the male attendant slammed the cups on the counter to the point of spilling the drink out.

Bought a great looking pretzel made out of puff pastry, drizzled with chocolate and cinnamon. Inedible! Note to store - make sure these are FRESH when you sell them! Mine was bought yesterday afternoon and it was horrible! Very stale and tasteless and a waste of almost $5!

This little place opened about 5 months ago and it's worth the drive over! We ordered a mocha coffee with whipped cream and a chocolate croissant, In dessert heaven(I would have added a pic of the chocolate croissant, but hubby got to it before I could set it down) . Very welcoming and attentive as you walk in. Lots of seating outside, inside or inside the hotel lobby.

This Carmel bakery location has some of my favorite treats from the location in downtown Carmel by the sea. I wish they had the eclairs that are in Carmel by the sea but it doesn't look like they have a refrigerated section behind the counter. I love that they sell local treats, already prepackaged from other local restaurants. Like marinara and packaged food. This is a great place in downtown Monterey to get a treat and a cup of coffee.

Close to the wharf & downtown, the bakery is in a convenient location for hotel guests, locals, and visitors. We like to stop by here when we go for bike rides or are in the area. They have so many pastry options as well as hot & cold sandwiches, & salads. Great spot for grab and go.Also customer service is amazing!
I had a pretzel with cheese that was very good. A butter croissant that was amazing. The staff was very professional. It was clean, and the vibes were immaculate. 10/10

This rating is for the service. Jay and Toni were outstanding. Very pleasant and kind. Our first time visiting this establishment and it was close to closing and they still took the time to serve us. The latte was perfect and the customer was superb. Thank you Jay and Toni. We hope to see you again on our next visit.

I’ve been to Portola Hotel numerous times and I can tell you something that Carmel Bakery is an amazing addition to their portfolio ? I really enjoy their coffee and salads …. Their Artichoke Hummus is soooooooooooo delicious you MUST try it !!!!! I totally love this place!!!!! My only stop for coffee next time I’m in Monterey, California!!!
