Everything is really sweet!! The ube tres leche tastes pretty good but I can't finish it all in one go since it's so sweet. I personally didn't like the frosting (whipped ube halaya and a crunchy layer of cashew meringue) so I took it off. I liked that they put a lot of extra liquid for the cake to soak up. The ube latte was ok. Tasted really sweet and heavy for me so I wouldn't get it again.

Used to frequent this cafe when I lived in SoCal so I was happy to see them open up in the Bay Area. Ube flan cupcakes were just as good as I remember. Moist ube cupcake and a creamy flan topping. They had a buy 4 pastry get a free hibiscus calamansi cooler which was a sweet deal. If you're an ube fan, this place is a must.

An inviting atmosphere with friendly staff and a hidden gem is the café 86. One has to try their deliciously seasoned, bursting with taste and well cooked ube pancakes. This is the ideal place for getting together with some friends or just sitting back for relaxation. It is always a memorable experience since they pay attention to small things and offer excellent service every single time. I would recommend Café 86 without reservation as it combines tasty food and friendliness in a remarkable way.

I love sweet and always eat desserts after lunch or dinner. Today we had lunch in Mountain View and saw this Philipino dessert and I was so excited to try it. We ordered 2 different kinds of halo halo: omg they were too sweet like you are eating sugar. The flan also too sweet. We had halo halo many places before but this place is too sweet.

Love all things Ube so this was my kind of cafe. My fave was the ube cupcake with the leche flan topping. It had a deep ube flavor and the leche flan was a nice topping. Second was the mini ube cheesecake which also had a strong ube flavor. My kids and I had the halo halo however we all felt it was too modernized, with the cornflakes and green and red jellies. We especially could have done without the cornflakes as it gave it a maple flavor and too much crunch. We like the classic halo halo with all the beans and various coconut jellies and bits. The ube ice cream and piece of leche flan were great though. Always here to support Filipino owned businesses and ube desserts.

Ube Lover in search of more desserts to get your ube fix? This is the place to be! At around $5-6 per dessert you will find yourself spending more than you expected to because all their choices look rather appetizing. Will definitely be coming back to try their other Calamansi drinks along with grabbing more of their ube cupcakes with flan on top.

My Sister in Law told us about Cafe 86. Very interesting and unique Cafe. Some delicious choices, you want them all, but you have to get just enough to keep the suspicion going. We have gone back three times since our first visit. This will be another monthly treat !!!

I can't speak for their desserts, but I'd only recommend buying a drink here if you like yours really sweet. I tried one of the milk teas with 50% sugar (their lowest setting) and still found the result sickening -- basically equal to 100% sweetness anywhere else. I tried my best to finish it just to get my $5.73 worth (that's before toppings), but couldn't. Sadly, the counter girl said that's how things are with all their drinks. Not sure how they can compete with other boba shops until they master the basics of customization.

I'm really disappointed with this place. Yesterday was the first time I tried this place out since I've heard so much good things about it. I ordered several items: ube tres leches, ube bar, ube cup cake with flan on top & the ube cheesecake. I've never had a dessert this awful. The ube tres leches and ube cheesecake tasted like straight up sugar but what was worst the ube cupcake with the flan on top it was so bitter. Omg.. never had I ate a cupcake so darn bitter. I can't believe I wasted my money on this place.

First of all, staff are friendly and helpful.I find everything too sweet , I still prefer the original Pinoy style halo halo , I find their halo halo too sweet and had too much ube, also had a distinct taste that i dont like, it had an overpowering taste of coconut milk .

Been following cafe86 on IG for awhile. I finally made it to their MV location. It was about 8p. Small store, parking located in the back if you're lucky, some chairs and tables to sit on. Definitely recommend the ube flan and upside down halo halo but don't get their ube milk tea. It wasn't good. Service was fast and efficient. Would I go back? Maybe not....

Love Cafe 86. It seems to be my go to dessert spot after dinner in downtown MV. They know how to make a mean ube monster shake and halo halo. Also their ube desserts are delicious. I recommend the ube butter bar. Fast and quick service. Few seating, but limited.
