We were there on the busiest day of the year they told us based on all the grapes they were receiving and getting ready to process. The wines we tasted were wonderfully balanced and unique. This newer winery was one of my favorites on our trip to Sonoma and the only one I was moved enough by the actual wine to purchase for shipment back home. The wines are actually made by the couple who owns the winery, which was very refreshing, and allows them to create wines that really suit their palates rather than chasing the hot marketing trend of the moment. If their taste happens to match yours, it's an absolute treat to taste some of the brightest wines out there, across varietals. They have a few core styles, but expect surprises as well, as the winemaker enjoys trying new types every year. Derek was our very passionate tasting guide with a wealth of knowledge - we had such a fun time here in the garden just absolutely tickled about the experience of these wines.

This was such a pleasant experience. Really beautiful. Wines are light and fresh. Setting is lovely. Ching Wu, our host, was incredibly kind. We talked about wine and history and culture. Never rushed. We did the library tasting, which we found a good addition. All around five stars. Delightful. Thank you to this winery for a memorable experience!

Derrick was great! We tasted 5 different wines and he gave us a very thorough walkthrough of the differences and showed us the different stages of grapes ripe process. It was a great experience and would def recommend for anyone into lighter wines!

Amazing winery with a very passionate crew. Our wine tasting guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed talking with him and our experience. I really appreciate and respect the owner’s attention to sustainable farming and wine making. His approach to the wines he makes as opposed to his fellow wine makers in Napa is refreshing. Definitely make a reservation and check this one out! The view is beautiful and the experience is intricate.

Our wine tasting experience at Matthiasson Wines on 2/18 with Derek was one of the best we've ever had. Derek was consummately knowledgeable about the wines; the vineyards, viticulture, and geography; and oenology. Derek devoted the entire 90-120 minutes to us and we felt like we were hanging out with a friend rather than an associate of Matthiasson. He poured us wines off-menu, and we were so overwhelmed with the quality and variety of wines that we purchased an entire case. Thank you so much for the exceptionally enjoyable time in Napa!
