You'll need to ask yourself what type of ambiance you are looking for when dining at this establishment. It was very loud, we had to scream at each other during dinner to hear one another. All the tables around us were talking loud or screaming and at one point the staff turned on music, after which you couldn't hear anything but music. The staff was attentive, the food is good but nothing that unique. If you want a party, this is a great place to go. If you're looking for a nice dinner with friends, look elsewhere.

Was our first time dining at Red O. we had a great table in the section to the side of the main dining area. The main dining area is a little darker and a little louder, but definitely has a very hip vibe. Our area was more traditional. Had enchiladas, brussels sprouts. & skinny margaritas. The food was outstanding. Lots of servers, so very attentive. Also, no attitude anywhere which is much appreciated.

I've been a fan of Red O since they opened their doors. While the food was fresh, beautiful and delicious the service ruined the day for our party which included out-of-town guests. Our server was “out of it.” He forgot everything we ordered. He failed on drink orders and didn't ask for our food orders for over an hour. We had to flag down food runners. I ended up pulling an assistant manager aside and while he took a couple items off our bill he didn't take control. I don't go out for lunch or dinner to receive anything for free. I go for great food, great ambiance and a great experience. This server was behaving as though he were on drugs. I must also note that the bathrooms were filthy. Paper towels on the floor and wet ones on the counter. The ladies room smelled like a urinal. So disgusting. I'm no longer going to recommend Red O due to this experience on 3/16/24.

One of my very favorite restaurants in Newport. The food, drinks and atmosphere are all top notch and it's so convenient to have a fantastic meal and then shop for the rest of the day!

Excellent food and drinks. However the order for our grand son came out incorrectly. Service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is very loud and makes a conversation difficult.

3/10/2024 What an amazing evening at Red O in Newport Beach. We had reservations for 5:30 p.m and were greeted by Sherlyn and Stella. These hostesses are amazing and so welcoming. They both represent what stellar customer service is! All of the staff here are superb. We were seated by the fireplace at a nice and cozy table. Melissa was our server, and she is exquisite and just simply a wonderful person. We ordered drinks and some guacamole. My wife had Don Julio Blanco with pelligrino, three limes muddled and mint, and I had the Cincoro chilled on a large ice cube. We enjoyed the chips, salsa, guacamole, and drinks and had a wonderful visit with Rocky, who is also such an amazing person with kindness and such authentic character. Great conversation. Melissa stopped by again, and we chatted and then ordered the entrees. My wife had the Branzino entree, and I ordered the Jumbo Lobster tail with the #3 sides. While awaiting the food, we had another wonderful conversation with Ceasar, another kind and truly authentic person, and another quick visit with Rocky. The staff here are like gems and family, so to speak. Just great people. The entrees came, and we both ordered another drink. Everything was superb, and it was a wonderful evening from start to finish. It was a spectacular evening and highly recommended.

We dine here often so I suspect an off night. Brandon was awesome! MINE— The shrimp ceviche not so much — wonderful fresh ingredients but atypically bland and 100% TOTALLY TASTELESS. HIS— Chicken fajitas, very light on chicken and largely bell peppers and negligible other vegetables. Disappointing outing.

Enjoyed the restaurant week menu although the only actual value was the lobster Benedict, all of the other offerings were cheaper purchasing off the regular menu.mimosas were an additional $10, but the glass was filled with ice??? Guacamole was great and so were the Huevos Rancheros.

The food was good and the waitstaff was kind. Two of my pet peeves are (1) when food/or chips and salsa comes without water-I had to ask three times and (2) when you book a reservation well in advance and get the crappiest/smallest table in the room. Our food had to be stacked and shuffled because the table was so small, I thought I was going to burn my arm on the fajita platter. Overall, I would have enjoyed a more comfortable dining experience.

Our server, Pat was great. We dined at lunch time for a (3 hour) birthday celebration and indulged on the “Restaurant Week” menu. The featured House margaritas were delicious too! Over all was an excellent experience!

We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday, they did it right, she loved it. My review is, 1st thing was the Ambiance, it's beautiful, from the entrance hallway with all the different Tequila bottles to the beautiful bar as you walk in to the restaurant. The music was playing in the background it sounded great, our service was great, A little dark to see the menu, but I wouldn't change it. The food came out, not piping hot, but just warm, wish it was a little hotter. Drinks were on point. Would definitely come back.

A disappointing dinner experience but the restaurant is beautiful. Food served lukewarm and servers running around at frenetic pace. Felt rushed to order and had to ask for water several times. Pleasant staff but seemed overwhelmed and very very loud, so difficult to have a conversation. Better for lunch when it's quieter and less hectic.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Incredible food, impeccable service, and a luxurious ambiance make Red O a must-visit for any food enthusiast. From the exquisite dishes to the top-notch alcohol selection, every aspect of the dining experience is simply superb. Highly recommend!

Food and ambience was amazing. Service not very good. Had to ask for water 3 times before I got up and had to get the pitcher of water myself. Other than that I would definitely come back.

The waitress was amazing. I reserved a booth and got a table. Never was I told to reserve a booth it has to be 3+ people. But they were letting other parties of 2 sit in booths because they waited for it. I had my reservation for over 3 weeks.
