When I do come by Edens, its when I need a quick bite or I don't feel like walking too far from work. Its a decent cafe that serves various kinds of bites: Bagels, sandwiches, burritos, tacos, pastas, salads, and im sure im missing a few other things but hopefully you get the gist. Oh, and how can I forget they also serve coffee and espresso drinks. For the amount of times Ive gone to Edens, Ive gotten mixed experiences; some days are better than others but overall pretty consistent. For example: Some days my bagel is more burnt than usual or theres barely any cream cheese or the meat in my sandwich is less than usual But im not going to let those occasional days bring down the star rating. Its a decent cafe and itll get you what you need for food.

Picked up Too Good to Go and it was a container of salad and 2 smaller containers of pasta salad. The food was average, nothing special to write about. I wish it had more variety but it is ok. The service was fast, ready for pick up.

The breakfasts are delicious and the people that work there are very kind.

I came here for two surprise bag pick up orders a couple of days ago. It was a fast pick up and the food was nearby to the cashier. In my orders came two ham sandwiches, two tuna sandwiches, a slice of marble cake and a slice of coconut cake. Am I the biggest fan of coconut? Not at all, but it was actually tolerable. The marble cake was alright as well. Want some honesty? Neither of these types of cake are my fave, nor do I particularly like cake. I don't hate cake, but if I could only have it once a year for whatever absurd reason, I'd be quite alright. That said, these baked goods would probably be delightful to someone who likes cake. Also, this place is like a small coffee shop setting that serves light breakfast items (you're not getting pancakes here) and lunch, closing at 2 PM daily. The tuna sandwich was good. Fair. I think it must be quite hard to mess up a tuna sandwich considering the easily ingredients, so it's what you'd expect. I especially liked that they served it on a brioche roll, my favorite. Now let's talk about location. I imagine people that live and work around here are the average customers. If you're interested in trying it out, it's about two blocks down from Lake Merritt Bart and across the street from OMCA. Parking is a hit or miss.

Always greeted with the warmest smiles. I've been here several times and their sandwiches never disappoint. They sell pozole every Thursday and sell out every time! I'm not a coffee person but their hot chocolate is delish. Always look forward to going back.

It's easy to overlook this little corner deli, but we got a quick & delicious Chef's Salad from them with hella toppings, as well as a satisfying fruit bowl. We'd also grabbed a premade spaghetti container, but were not impressed with the lack of meat and one-dimensional flavor that reminded me of alphabet soup as a kid.The owners are kind and helpful, we loved 2 of the 3 quick to-go options we'd gotten, and all of our food came in sizable portions. If I worked nearby, I'd happily hit them up for salads regularly (and I'm not even a salad person!). Ours was FILLED with yummy toppings- plenty of ham and other goodies to make it worth it. Give them a try if you're looking for an inexpensive, quick, and healthy takeout!

I stopped by this morning, perhaps the third time in as many years, and splurged on a lox, cream cheese, etc., on a toasted everything bagel, and medium decaf drip. Coffee was delicious. I was expecting a bagel wrapped in paper, easily eaten w/one hand. Instead I got two toasted halves, each with as much lox as another place might put on a single sandwich. The lox itself was perfect - completely fresh and moist, and the tomato was also tasty. I won't hesitate to splurge there again when I'm in the neighborhood.

Got the Civil Service call of duty at the neighboring courthouse. I just smelled the place day one on the walk from BART. Day two bought probably the best pre-prepared SW Chicken salad ever. On day three, I stopped and got a pretty darn good breakfast burrito and cup of Hawaii'n Hazelnut Joe. But the best part on my exchange with the shop keepers was when I got on BART that morning and discovered my phone didn't charge. After asking where the nearest place I could find a wall charger and receiving excellent directions to a local CVS, the cashier then simply unplugged his phone and offered me a free charge while I enjoyed my breakfast. Huge hugs and thank you as this random act of kindness and senseless beauty gave me enough phone charge to get a ride home post trial postponement that same morning. If called for duty, I will be stopping by to pay further respect. That and another yummy SW Chicken Salad!!! PS- if going to the Courthouse; get your coffee/snacks/breakfast here as the place in the courthouse is disgusting!!!

Eden is one of those last choice spots if you work in the area. Honestly go somewhere else I have worked in the area for 8+ years and eden has always been there. I recently got a sandwich, soup and brownie from them. The sandwich was nothing special and had an overwhelming amount of Mayo and mustard on it. After finishing it, I had an itchy throat. I suspected it must have been the sandwich. I looked at my brownie and I noticed there was mold growing in it. Definitely not fresh. Very disappointed in eden cafe.

Food not good, pricey and skimpy on the cream cheese. Bagel not really toasted. Check out the pic! Owner rude threw my items in the bag and didn't even say hello. I can imagine how he treat his staff.

Used to come here all the time but they the owner never wore gloves especially during COVID-19... he also touched everything and I found his hair in my bagel. Never will return.
