Mien Tay has THE BEST Hu Tieu dry noodles and beef pho in Oakland! Growing up with really great pho that my mom made, it's hard for me to find spots that make pho broth as rich and spiced the way I enjoy. For the Beef Pho specifically, Mien Tay hits all the marks! Their Hu Tieu Dry Noodles are SO flavorful and honestly more delicious and flavorful compared to VH and Thanh Ky. Packed with tons of fried shallots!

i've been on the search for my favorite vietnamese restaurant in the bay area but haven't quite found it yet. mien tay's bun rieu is one of the best though and might be my go-to for whenever i'm craving vietnamese noodle soup that isn't pho (which is often). it's pretty authentic and flavorful, and definitely good comfort food on a gray/rainy day! they were also good about subbing out the pork blood for more tofu, just in case you're like me and not into pork blood. they deliver through doordash and package the food well for to-go. :)

Mm, the BBH at Mien Tay is now one of my go to's. From a previous review--I got my friend and her (Vietnamese) husband pho & bun bo hue from Mien Tay. Based on his comments that the BBH was legit, I've gotten the BBH from this place several times. Do yourself a favor and get it! The combo of the soup, the way the meat is cooked and the herbs that go with it have been spot on each time. I've gotten BBH from other Vietnamese places in the area (or at least, places that deliver) but this one is the best.

{Covid-19 Review, takeout/delivery only) Wow, this place serves up good noodles! I ordered Hoanh Thanh Soup/Wonton Noodle Soup with egg noodles. I took my order home, mixed it up in a medium sized pot, and heated it up. I really liked that they give you an option of egg or rice noodles. The soup had a thicker, deeper flavor. Nice serving of won ton dumplings, bean sprouts, and seasonings. Good deal for the price. I would order this again. I also ordered Cha Gio Tom (Fried Shrimp Rolls). Nice and crispy, stuffed with shrimp. Sweet n sour sauce included. Definitely a restaurant to bookmark and try again.

I had a bowl of dry noodle the other day here, and I thought it wasn't very good.They used both the yellow egg noodle and the rice noodle, I am okay with the rice noodle, but the egg noodle gave a sweet taste that I do not care for.For the protein part they have 2 shrimp, 2 quail egg, some ground pork that I never EVER care for, some liver that was quite dry and tough, they also have what I thought was pig feet meat, and it was like the only thing that I seem to enjoy here, it got a good amount of of pig skin, some fat, and the meat was tender and sweet.There were also some bean sprouts, chives, green onion, cilantro, and fried shallot.My meal also came with a side of soup, which I thought was not bad, it seem to have a strong porky flavor.I also had their coconut jello for desert, it was not bad, but it didn't have any coconut meat piece in it. I like my friend's coconut jello much better.Overall it was an okay meal, there was a lot of food for the the price, the quality and taste was not the best for their dry noodle, but I had their bun rieu before and it was really good, so skip the dry noodle and try that one. FYI, their bun rieu have crab paste in there or something with crab protein, because as soon as I finished their bowl of bun rieu and left the restaurant that day, my whole body was itching like crazy plus other allergy symptoms for the rest of that day even after I took some allergy med later. It was MY FAULT for not thinking that some people do use crab paste in their bun rieu broth, well it okay, because it was a pretty good bun rieu.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! If I could give them 10 stars I would! It is theee most authentic Vietnamese restaurant here in Oakland. They pay so much attention to detail when packing your Togo orders and give you just the perfect amount of sides to accommodate your meal. As someone who lived in the heart of Orange County, I am soooo impressed by this place and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try Vietnamese food! Don't know what to get first? I highly recommend their bun bo hue.
I ordered dry noodle on Saturday. When I went inside the restaurant to pick up my food, I saw one of older lady with long hair, who is working in there, is not wearing mask. This is second or third time I saw it that why I want to leave the review for the owner to notice about customers concern for their safety due to COVID-19 P/S: The dry noodle is tasty, I highly recommend to order it.

This is a small restaurant nestled in a corner just a few blocks away from Chinatown. I was craving hu tieu and decided to give this place a try. Their hu tieu kho really hit the spot! I love the sauce and that it comes with a nice warm bowl of soup. I also ordered the banh canh. Didn't have any expectations for it but it took me right back to Vietnam and suddenly I'm sitting on the sidewalk of Saigon eating street food. Perfectly authentic and delicious!! The banh bot chien was yummy as well although the dipping sauce is a little too salty for my liking. Overall a great meal and well worth the money

I really enjoyed eating here. They have a small menu and a small place but everything they serve have big flavors.I can here especially for the Bun Bo Hue. Although, it's a bit more expensive than other places, they give you equivalent to a surpersize serving. With lots of noodles, plenty of protein for toppings, I'm definitely coming back.They offer Togo orders and small and limited outdoor seating during covid with safety precautions.
