I’m not a fan of Indian food, and though this food shares a lot of the same seasonings, they’re not arranged in the same way.The waitstaff was reserved and quiet, but knowledgeable.We tried too many dishes and each was more mind blowing. They even had their take on chow mein for the picky kid.Chose a 2 spice level and everyone was satisfied but not “burned”. Probably would do a 3 or 4 if it was just me and the scale was reliably linear. But 2 was nice.If you haven’t tried Nepalese, try this, it’s not what you think. It’s pretty unique.
I have been putting this review off as I love,love, LOVE Himalayan Bistro. It is truly a wonderful restaurant with YUMMY food... if you dine at the restaurant. I had the opportunity to have food delivered from H.B. Unfortunately it didn't compare to the wonderful meals I have been served while dining in the establishment. And, food temps, haphazard king, etc... is, I hope, due to the Delivery Svc, NOT H.B. That said, sadly my order 'felt' & tasted, like the usual 'top grade' food was used to make my meal. I ordered a go-to, Butter Chicken... Yummy! Himalayan Bistro , along with chicken Tika masala , makes one of the best. My delivery, though, NOT the best. I will start & end with the quality of the 'chicken' or the fattie pieces & grissle... and it tasted like it had been thrown together in 2 min. There was no nuance of different flavors... which, iykyk , H.B. meals have that in ABUNDANCE!!! BUT, NOT this night, sadly. Even the naan... it was hard & tasted... used, for the only example I have 4 it. The entire, ALL of it, experience with delivery wasn't good. Again, I'm believing much of it was the delivery SERVICE! Absolutely!! But... the delivery svc was not entirely at fault. I really LOVE H.B's amazing, tasty, oh SO tasty(& fresh) food Which is why I've held off reviewing this ONE delivery experience- i.e.- if u can't say sumpin nice, DONT say anything- Right!! But my best friend had a very similar experience 3 days ago & I had to put this out there I still 'put' most of this o. Delivery svc. Lol, sooo, Folks, Himalayan Bistro has the MOST tasty yummy fresh& wonderful meals( food ) y'all can order. In my opinion, I will eat AT the restaurant. I won't do delivery nor pick up. That's me . This place has gone down hill over the last 6 months. Their garlic naan tastes no different than their regular naan (plain), which is a bummer because it used to be one of our favorites and main reason for ordering from this place. Additionally, it seems that their food has become over salted. The Aloo gobi is mushy and over salted, taking away from tasting the other flavors in that dish like ginger and the cauliflower. The chicken tikka masala is just meh. Not to mention, the prices are over-priced and not worth the price anymore. It’s disappointing, as this used to be one of our favorite places to eat.

We got take out here. Ambiance inside isn't fancy. Butter chicken was fantastic. Veggie Korma was delicious too. level 3 spicy was good for us. I like that entrees come with naan or rice. I liked the naan (not too crispy).

My 2nd time here in almost a year. They now have daily lunch specials where you can choose two mains. Got the double chicken vindaloo. Comes with white rice, small dessert (I think rice pudding), plain naan, and some pickled veggies. Service was quick and food was good. Glad to see they had a good lunch crowd on a Fri. Will be back.

We just tried this place near our house and it was so so so amazing. It was my daughter’s bday and we decided to stay close to home and try this hidden gem. I encourage you to try this place and everything was super delicious. We got lamb kabob, tadka daal, and kid’s favorite butter chicken with garlic naan. Great job guys, and we will be back 100%.

I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala spice level 4 out of 5 and it was delicious!! I love spicy food and this hit the spot. My husband, who's the complete opposite with spice, ordered the Butter Chicken spice level 0. He said there was still a little bit of heat but the flavor was great. Huge portions, comes with either rice or naan. We also ordered the garlic and cheese naan-- you need to get this it's so good!Definitely will be one of my go-tos whenever I visit Oceanside.Parking: The location shares a parking lot with many other restaurants and establishments. There are plenty of spots depending on when you go but the spots are pretty tight.

I chose a meatless dish, and my friend chose one with chicken. There is lots of competition for diners in that area, and parking can get tight at dinner time. Overall, the Himalayan Bistro is a restaurant I’ll visit again for a spicy, meatless meal. Try it!!!

Wow!!!! Thanks Yelp!!!! This place is so good!!!! We ordered Apps- The fried onion with chickpea batter so good!!! It was awesome they had this no gluten. Deep fried chicken with chickpea batter- so fresh and yummy!!! The lunch special with chicken chilli and chicken curry comes with a drink and rice pudding. Hubby finished it all!!! This is my new go to for Indian. Everyone needs to support and check this place out so good and reasonably priced...

Great fresh delicious food. Butter chicken is insanely good and any of tandoori grill items are repeat favorites. Been consistently good. The are so many flavors going on that just hit the spot. Not complaining in any way but word of caution, their medium spiciness is pretty darn hot. If you like things real spicy you'll enjoy it. It was good but had me sweating and drinking a ton of water. Ordered with mild level and it's been perfect. For reference I usually do thai food between med-hot and have no issues.
Don't even hesitate. Great staff, great food, delicious. Flavors are just great, and mango kulfi (ice cream) was amazing. Will be back

The food here was great. We really enjoyed the lunch special and the veggie pakoras. The special gives you a lot of food, we had to take leftovers home. We’re from Orange County so we likely won’t be back anytime soon, but if we’re hungry in Oceanside again we’d love to come back.
