Was so excited to finally make it to Sound by the Sea, we were celebrating a birthday party and just got done with dinner and wanted to cap off the night with a few drinks and some good music. Unfortunately didn’t seem like anyone wanted to help us. Walked in with a party of 6 people. Place was maybe a third full but music was playing and sounded great inside. Waited in the doorway as I wasn’t sure if we were able to seat ourselves. Not a single employee looked over or made eye contact, almost like we were purposely being ignored. Walked further in and the table I attempted to grabbed had a reserved sign on it further proving my thought that we should’ve been seat by someone. Said screw it and walked outside and grabbed a table there. Unfortunately fire pits were down so not a great start as the ladies were cold. Still no help from anyone, half of our party got up to go find someone as we were finally able to get menus. Once we got the menus we found out they didn’t have hard liquor, all Soju based. Also had some beer and wine options. At this point we were over it and walked across the street and had a great night at Pacific CoastSpirits. Unfortunate as I wanted to like this place so bad as I love the concept and I’m a five minute walk away. I’d say you’re probably better off going straight to the bar and you may get service there, who knows…

This place is so dope. Visiting from chicago and always looking for a live DJ. The sound system is unreal, great seating arrangement with so many options. The bar is really cool, you can watch folks spin and the service is fantastic. The owners are bouncing around making sure everyone is taken care of. We had various drinks and an assortment of snacks that were perfect to keep things on the lighter side. We will no doubt be back and shout out to DJ Cesar for playing dope music all night.

This place is a VIBE. The live mixed house music is awesome. Ambience is great. Food is perfect. Drinks are flavorful and not too heavy. The owner Mark is extremely personable and loves to talk directly to his guests. Will be coming back. Highly recommend.

This place's strength is personability. The team is full of character, as is their ambiance. The concept is unprecedented in the city of Oceanside, and maybe for San Diego County. This place compares well to products of Consortium Holdings in San Diego (e.g. Morning Glory, Invigatorium, Raised by Wolves, Noble Experiment) as this place is extremely similar in vibes. This place is one of the highlights of San Diego County and you can't be passing up on a chance to hear their HiFi music, meet their team, and try their tasty cocktails! I want to emphasize that I've been to MANY spots in San Diego County, Orange County, Los Angeles County, and Mexico (Tijuana, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Oaxaca, Mexico City) ... and this place is special. I believe it's so special that I planned a company holiday party at this location, and Dominique and his team did not disappoint! The drinks, the music, the hospitality.... wow! Using words to review this place just feels understating. Cheers!

I am an IMMENSE fan of listening bars, and this has to be on my top 3! The staff are so kind and attentive, while the DJ's play such a great range of music. Outside is cozy and open, inside has you close and intimate. Every niche you need filled is here. Absolutely send all my friends this way when they ask for what to do for a great night.Parking: There's about 5 parking spots tied to the actual bar itself, and one handicap parking spot. After that just hope you find street parking.

this place has soooo much potential, it is awesome from the inside and has very aesthetically pleasing touches. something phenomenal i noticed (huge plus on the details) was the addition of hooks under the bar seats. i love a vinyl bar lounge concept & am excited to check out their bollywood night! the food left a bit to be desired -- especially the butternut squash soup. it felt quite basic, like a box brand with a lot of salt.

Drinks and atmosphere were otherworldly. Loved the music. Hostess and waitstaff were all kind. Drinks were beautiful and delicious and came fast. We ordered an espresso and tonic water which tasted like a chocolate stout and a lavender mocktail and a pot of chamomile tea which was so beautiful and delicious.
