Super disappointed! I haven't been here in a few years and was so excited to bring my husband in. I don't think we'll be coming back. Steamed clams had absolutely no flavor. We added lemon juice, salt and pepper and they were still bland. The king prime rib was super fatty, not like before. The lamb was supposed to be medium rare but came out well done and very dry. Both salads had too much dressing and we had to ask for butter for the dry bread. I had to add the butter to the vegetables as those were not seasoned and room temperature. They fixed the place up since Mas passed (RIP) and it has a lively vibe. The music was good. Service could have been better, she was not as attentive as the other server at the other tables around us and we had to wait a bit in between the clams, salad and dinner. We had finished our clams and the busboy cleared the table and our server thought we didn't get our clams. That's how long it took for her to check up on us. The food used to be really great, someplace I would look forward to. It was not a pleasant experience.

Loved this place! I have lived in Orange County for 28 years and I've driven by this place HUNDREDS of times and never knew it existed. Great food, incredible vibe, tremendous happy hour, and fantastic service. I had the king cut prime rib, and I felt like Fred Flintstone! Huge piece of meat and very good. Sides were great too...excellent whiskey selection with Eagle Rare at reasonable prices!

This has become our family local favorite. The staff is amazing, and the live entertainment is a plus our son to hear music ?

Came in for dinner last night as it popped up on my yelp for the area I was working in and had very good reviews. Upon walking in, I noticed it's an old school spot with some good vibes. I started off with the calamari which comes with 3 sauces. I don't have calamari strips often but thought they were good! The marinara and cocktail sauce they serve with it are perfect too. For my main, I ordered the prime rib (medium rare) and opted for the twice baked potato and a side salad. The bleu cheese that came with the salad was superb! When the prime rib arrived, it initially didn't look medium rare but I understand they poor au jus over it so that will take the color away a little bit. Unfortunately my piece was quite tough. Also, my twice baked potato was on the dry side. My brother said the same thing about his prime rib and potato too. Their food is priced fairly cheap so maybe the prime rib isn't prime... Or perhaps we just got it on an off night.

This place is really a hidden gem. Not for the superficial because the atmosphere is definitely dive bar look but the food an atmosphere is amazing. Tasty Prime Rib and top notch quality lobster. From there soup that reminded me of grandmas to the salad that was perfectly proportioned of all the right ingredients. The drinks were strong and the prices have been frozen in time. I will definitely come back over and over again. Shout out to Laura our waitress who made my partners bday special by singing and sharing her food adventures there at the restaurant.

Heard some very good things about this restaurant but were not overwhelmed by the food at all. Place looked great upon entering, very old school steak house look and we looked forward to great drinks and after seeing platters of steaks with mashed potatoes and veges pass by our table, knew what we were having. Started out with calimari and as someone mentioned here, they were more like moz sticks purchased from Sysco, edible but not memorable. One of us had the fillet and the other steak with crab preceeded by house salad with old fashiioned, canned beet. Just ok. Fillet was supposed to be medium; more well done and just ok. Steak with crab was supposed to be medium but bleed all over plate as rare and I couldn't force it down. All food, (vegetables, potatoes and steaks) were lukewarm upon delivery. We asked to take home the food because we didn't want to insult the server who was very nice. Music was good. Drinks were ok but not par with the looks of the place. In all, I'd give it another try. I know it's been around for a long time but not sure how long current ownership has been in place. A few twinks in the kitchen and it could easily go three stars and move up.

Never again, First and last time for this restaurant, when you first walk in the ambiance screams you are entering a dive bar that sells food. My old fashion drink was good but everything else about this place is bad, salad looked like you were eating in a coffee shop, the bread was not good, and the slab of rib roast was not prime, choice or even good, potato was small and dry. This dinner was just bad in every way. Service was fair, this place is not a steak house it's a slop house, and I will never return.

What a gem! First time visit with a friend visiting on Saturday night. We knew we were set as soon as we walked into Elvis singing Great food, drinks, and excellent service by very kind servers. It's an old school menu done very well in a cozy space. Looking forward to my next visit!

You ever had a craving for steak that couldn't be satisfied with a fancy steakhouse? That was me today. I saw this place, the Tartan Room, a few weeks ago, and I've been jonesing since. I rolled up to the scene with a song in my heart and a spring in my step. Walking in, I felt like I stepped back in time to the brat-pack days...vinyl booths and a dimly-lit vibe. Loved it. They sit me down at a booth, and I'm already feeling like Sinatra, looking for SD jr. I order an Old Fashioned with Bulleit Rye, as well as the Calamari Strips and of COURSE, the Open-Faced Prime Rib Sandwich. My waiter nods in approval. "Perfect", he says. Yessir...I know. I'm feelin' it too. The Old Fashioned arrives, and it's TASTY. The Calamari Strips aren't far behind. These came with three sauces...tartar, and two cocktail sauces. LORD ALMIGHTY this appy was GOOD. The calamari was as thick as my mother-in-law's Asian accent, and Holy Schnikey, I don't know what they put in those two cocktail sauces, but I'm gonna need rehab to quit them. There must have been 8 strips...I took the pic when half were already eaten. I finish that squid goodness and I'm ready for another Old Fashioned, as well. 2-3 minutes pass and my Prime Rib Sandwich arrives, with my Old Fashioned, too. The prime rib is great, and the steak fries are awesome...but THE BREAD that the prime rib is resting on? OMG. That bread made every bite a culinary experience. Maybe it was a Parmesan Crust? I'm really not sure what they did to it, but YES, PLEASE. All-in-all, I walked in feeling special and walked out the same way. Great service, courses very well-timed, killer food and drink.

Fun to be back in the "steakhouse" era. My steak was a bit overdone and service was slow, but I will try again. We all have our "off" days.

I thought it was just a bar. Very pleasant surprise. Liked the atmosphere, live music and service was good. Ryan was very attentive. It was busy. Parking is a challenge. We sat in the banquet room and had a great view of the live music. I tried the prime rib with twice baked potato and salad. Loved the Bleu cheese dressing. Potato was a bit dry, so will have the regular baked potato next time. Hubby had the ribs, onion rings and soup (clam chowder). Portions are good and prices are reasonable. Will be our go to for date night and anniversaries.Parking: It's in a shopping center, so will just need to walk a bit.
