This place uses MSG in their food. But it's not on the menu and when you ask them, they tell you some of the ingredients in their ingredients contain MSG but they're not sure which ones. Like, what? I'm one of those people that has a sensitivity to it and I started having a reaction while I was still in the restaurant. Really frustrating. The food was mediocre at best. Considering all the MSG that must have been in it, it should've tasted better than it did. The server was very nice and attentive. Interior was fine. Needless to say, I can't recommend it, and I will never go back to this place.

I walked into a nice restaurant decorated in with Thai art, classy cocktail music, and a smiling white with a ponytail. He asked me what I wanted for a drink, so I asked for my favorite drink, Thai ice coffee. The delicious iced coffee came very quickly in a canning jar with handles. My order of three lunch specials was cooked and served very quickly. For most people, ordering one lunch special is enough, but I wanted to try their food in a big way. Only then can you experience the chef's cuisine. Also, I'm babysitting a cat here in Orinda for nine days, so I haven't wanted to cook if i can order enough to eat delicious leftovers. What a pleasant surprise, the food, atmosphere, and the three dishes, were quite fresh and delicious. The Pad Thai, which I ordered with chicken, was very nice, I had delicately seasoned noodles, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, green onions,fried tofu, fried eggs, bean sprouts, and finely chopped peanuts. For an extra $2, you can get the egg roll and salad, but I already had those with the two other lunch specials. The #6 Peanut Prawns, which were deep fried in a light batter, came with peanut curry sauce over a bed of spinach in a bowl, served with slices of orange, a crunchy Noodle salad, rice and a fried vegetarian Thai egg roll. Delicious! The prawns were a decent size, and quite tasty. My last dish was #12, Garlic Pepper Calamari, with onions, zucchini, mushrooms, green onions, fried noodles, were served with the sliced oranges, plus a noodles salad with carrots, cucumber, red cabbage, and shredded iceberg lettuce, deep fried noodles, were crunchy and fresh with a light dressing. Overall, the food was quite superb, my mom lived in Bangkok for fourteen years, so I know how to appreciate Thai food. I will definitely come here again if I'm visiting the area again.

Good comfortable place for vegetarian.The coconut soup was a delight with a good balance of sweet, tart, and savoryWe also ordered the orchid fried rice which is their version of the pineapple fried rice, the Pad Thai, and Green curry with vegetables and tofu. Everything was great and the salad that came with it was fresh and refreshingThe portions were a bit of a surprise for lunch special menu and we had plenty to take home

Wow that's all I can say to describe this place. It was so good. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was great and the waiter knew exactly what we needed. We had the pad Thai and prawns with mango. I wish I could give them 10 stars
Me and my wife we tried to have dinner at Siam orchid on Wednesday night. We walked in, got greeted from host/waiter/owner family . He asked us to have window table or booth , we requested for booth and he gave us small table and i ask for bigger table more comfortable chairs his response was throw the menu on table and left . We accept that is yes. And we wait about 10 minutes finally he's showed up asking what we want very unpleasant way. My wife wanted to leave And that's what we did. He came after us asking what was the problem we told him how rude he was and he started yelling wanting to fight physically. I am 72 years old and I've been around the world many times and never had this kind of experience in my life. This is very unprofessional for a restaurant business And he told me that don't ever come back here again, which is fine with me . Highly not recommended very disrespectful for customers.
