“I live in the neighborhood and had never gone in until recently. Had a chicken quesadilla and veggie burger and they were really delicious, My husband, who is a connoisseur or quesadillas was impressed by the spicy heat of the hot sauce inside. Can't wait to back and try other things. They also have an impressive variety of snacks and imported goods (like marmite AND vegemite) and a very nice wine selection hidden in the back. What a gem!“
“I had never been to Hanks and they had a wonderful brunch with great people watching outside on their patio. Unfortunately there were 4 kids screaming at the top of their lungs and their parents never told them to stop. Not the restaurants fault at all! But did not make for a great brunch until the people left. I would definitely go back to Hanks!!“
“Terrific place to have a great breakfast before walking around the lake and up to the library. All tables are outside under the provided shade. Food was excellent and above-average. The banana pudding was exactly the way I like it. Soul mate for pudding!“
“The prices are low for vegan fast food, so it's cool that they're making this food accessible to more people. The chicken sandwiches and shakes are quality. I do like the chicken sandwich more than the nuggets. Easy catch going to/from LAX.“
“We found Violet's from another yelp review. We arrived just in time to secure a table on their lovely patio. The ambience is great. We had attentive service and the food was well prepared. It is a limited menu for lunch. We found their Nicoise Salad and burger very tasty and fresh. The dinner menu offers a few more options. We will definately be back..“
“I was in Santa Monica yesterday morning in line to eat at another restaurant. It was already lunch time. But I wanted breakfast food. I asked the people in line if that restaurant served French Toast for breakfast. A very nice young woman with a cute dog said "go to John O'Groats" if you want a traditional French Toast Breakfast. I followed her advice and drove out to John O'Groats. I am so glad that I did. This place is a tradition diner with a lot of charm. The French Toast was great. As was the coffee. The service was good. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I will definitely be returning to this location with friends. This is a great place to have lunch or dinner. Before I drove out there, I called. I got an outgoing voice message. I left a message in which I said that I had wished that someone had answered the phone. I just wanted to know if they are still serving breakfast. When I arrived, the proprietor said to me "You called didn't you?" I answered in the affirmative. He responded "We have breakfast all day every day!" I wish I had taken down the name and contact information of the woman who recommended John O'Groats. I would have enjoyed sharing my experience with her.“
“Had a five hour layover at LAX airport so I took a quick Uber ride to the In-N-Out Burger on Sepulveda Boulevard. It only takes about five minutes in the car. As usual there was a huge line in the drive-through, but the inside service was quick and efficient. I’ve been in and out 1 million times and it’s always consistently good. I love to order the double double cheeseburger mustard fried with chopped chilies and the bun extra toasted. Be sure to stop by the location if you have a layover at LAX.“
“Pretty good! We were walking around the beach and my husband suddenly got a really intense craving for some pop. We got that and then some. We opted for a float and some fried, after seeing how good the ones on another patron's plate looked. The food and drinks were pretty good, they definitely satisfied our craving! The place was very heavily staffed with lots of friendly people trying to help maintain it, take orders, cook, tidy up, etc. The locale is in a very high traffic area, but it's worth stopping in!“
“Me and my family went here and the food was splendid. Our server, Gus, was charming and very kind. He made our experience so nice. I highly recommend to any people wanting to try amazing breakfast cuisine with a great environment and energetic staff.“
“The tea and scones were delicious and a great way to start the afternoon tea. Unfortunately, the tea sandwiches and desserts were hit and miss...the curry chicken salad and the chocolate mousse cups stood out, while the smoked king trumpet mushroom sandwich was interesting. The tea includes entry to the museum and could be part of a relaxing day at the Getty Villa. By itself, the tea is not a good value.“
