Because of work and staying in this area I have eaten here twice the first time I wasn't sure, this second time I think I have a good feeling enough to leave a review, I'm going to leave a photo of me at the sushi counter taking a picture of what I see as what I believe is fresh fish look closely at the glass that covers the counter "dirty and cloudy above the cooling unit" and then inspect the fish, it is up for your discretion. Both times I was there I ordered multiple sushi rolls they are about as big around as a large cigar which is smaller than I have had anywhere else also the sashimi we ate was still 20% Frozen it was like biting into a tuna popsicle first time for that. Anyway it is described as a No-Frills sushi spot and I will give them that I hope your experience is better than mine.

Ordered a relatively easy and quite small dinner for pickup. Went to run errands and then pick up, they said it was almost done... come back in 10m. Did that. When I came back in they then gave away the food they thought was mine to another person. And then 10m later was asked about my order. They said that they didn't know what happened to my order, nothing had been prepared (45m after ordering) and asked if I still wanted it. I explained that we already paid online, my kiddo and I are starving, and that it's been 45m already. They said it would be right up and then took another 20+ minutes to make the order. They offered a complimentary beverage and a lame eye rolling type of apology. I've spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars here over the years and have supported this business since it has opened. It sucks that this is the best sushi place in Pacifica, because the service is so terrible. I get that things happen, but when something like that happens they should go above and beyond to make the customer feel ok about it. Going to take a long pause from coming back here. Hopefully will find better sushi close by. I am open to suggestions. I wish them luck, but they need better management overall to make this a successful business.

A quiet place. The servers were nice. Food was fresh and good. No problems. We walked there from our hotel so it was convenient for us and a nice short walk.

This is my go to sushi spot. Everyone I've taken here "about 10" also thinks its incredible. This place can step up against the highest sushi joints around BUT the price is very modest. A ton of options for everyone in the whole family. Truly a hidden gem in Pacifica.

I use to love this place. The service is always good but the quality of their sushi rolls have gone down. The rolls are so tiny now that it's not even worth its price. Pretty disappointing.

We came here on a Friday right after they opened. Their customer service is good and food came out fast. Rolls are smaller compared to other places we have been to.

there are limited food options in pacifica so it's nice to have the option of sushi in the southern part of town. that said, i think it's worth a drive rather than going to this place. i've probably been around 5x and i'm always disappointed in the service. in a small town like pacifica where there a lot of long standing establishments i expect small town, good vibes. the service here is always cold. every time ive been they've forgotten multiple things and appear annoyed when you remind them. this last time they told us "for next time we don't allow outside food." they were referring to the blueberries and crackers i brought for my 14 MONTH OLD! my girlfriend and i were shocked but they were serious. "it's just bad for the restaurant " was their explanation. it's worth noting we had ordered plenty of food and weren't just sitting having edamame and tea. speaking of food, it's fine. like many others have said the roll are tiny, like all the size of small maki rolls. overall it's convenient but underwhelming.

This was by far one of the best sushi dining experiences I’ve ever had. This location is super ideal for a fantastic intimate dinner with your friends and family. While obviously the finer things in life come with a hefty price tag, this meal was not just worth it, but worth coming back and bringing more people with you.Jenn was my server and she went above and beyond with her recommendations!Luckily I was here during happy hour from 4:30 to 6:00pm (dine-in only) so I grabbed an order of chicken gyoza, 12pc assorted sashimi, and a large Kirin beer. The chicken gyoza was soft & crispy.Every piece of sashimi was clean and cut perfectly. The beer paired everything together nicely.I will definitely be returning in the future!

+ Fresh ingredients in all dishes we ordered.+ We loved the beef sukiyaki we ordered. Flavorful and great variety of veggies in it.+ Skewers were also well seasoned and tender.- Considering the very small portion, the delux chirashi bowl was quite expensive ($37) compared to other Bay Area Japanese restaurants.

We had an amazing dinner after our hike. The food was amaaaazing, everything was fresh and very delicious. The photos are not perfect because we were starving haha but the food is delicious and the price is very good too, definitely coming back soon. Thank you guys!

This restaurant has some highs and lows. I've been here several times and it's always about the same. My last visit tho had a different vibe. Here's the rundown. The agedashi tofu is good, although you only get 4 pieces while most restaurants will give you 5. The chicken teriyaki is well seasoned and moist. Some of the sushi is decent, but the rolls are really, really, small. And I don't mean the length. The roll's diameter is much smaller than rolls you get almost everywhere else. The deluxe sushi and sashimi set is ok, some of the fish is good. Although it does get repetitive as the nigiri and sashimi have the same type of fish. Would prefer some variety. The rainbow roll, spider roll, spicy tuna roll and negi-hamachi were all pretty tasty, but again really small in size. Expect to order more here than usual to be full. Our server was fast and efficient. Since I was there with another family, we asked for separate bills from our server, which he was cool with. He was friendly and a good server. I can't say the same for the person who seemed like the manager. He was behind the register and occasionally helped with bringing out our food. His service was poor at best. He didn't like when we asked for things (like extra wasabi) or tea. He brought over our bill, and everything was put on 1 bill. When I asked about this (since we had ordered and asked for separate bills), he said he separated the parts onto one bill, a part 1 and a part 2. There was no subtotal however. Was I supposed to itemize it myself? Was I supposed to take out my phone and add up my portion of the check? Wasn't that the whole point of asking for separate bills so it would be easier? With the digital cash registers, why is it so hard to print out 2 separate checks? I asked for 2 separate bills and he seemed really pissed off about doing it. Eventually he relented and went back to his register. Really left a bad taste in my mouth about his attitude. 3 stars for the food. Minus 1 star for poor service and attitude. Total of 2 stars. Even though I have been several times before, I will say that this is my last visit and I will never go back.

Solid sushi. Good service. Hot tea and sake options. Nice deserts. We will be back.

When my husband and I first walked over to this restaurant we were a little skeptical. The outside looked like a former Jack in the Box, but you should never judge a book by its cover. Or in this case, don't judge a restaurant by its former paint. Whenever we go on vacation we love to grab a few sushi rolls and sip on hot sake. This place definitely satisfied our craving! We ordered: -Chicken Karaage which came with spicy aioli. The fried breading was a little thicker than we are used to, but the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. -Tuna Lover Roll (spicy tuna, asparagus tempura topped wth blue fin tuna and crunchy flakes) was my favorite! You can never go wrong with blue fin tuna! Yum!! -Giant Roll (unagi, avocado topped with walu, onions, scallions, tobiko and friend garlic) was pretty interesting. It had a lot of different textures from the onions and garlic, but still really fresh. -Warrior Roll (salmon, avocado, lemon topped with hamachi and garlic sauce) really packed a flavor bomb in your mouth. It looked the simplest, but probably had the most flavor. The mix of lemon and garlic really push through and complement the salmon. We here for a early dinner around 5pm and it had a good amount of people. No wait, but I could tell that it would start getting crowded after we left. The servers were nice and quick with our food and drinks. They kept the sake flowing so we were having a blast! Such a chill spot to grab some delicious and fresh sushi! Love it!
