Downtown Palo Alto has a few ice cream options but to me, none of them really stand out. That's why I was so happy to discover Carem Gelato and knew I had to stop by after having dinner in the area. The gelato shop is around the block of University and Emerson right across from the theater. It's a cute little shop that doesn't have any seating inside, so you will have to place your order and leave. Person scooping our ice cream was an older vietnamese lady, which was a surprise for a gelato shop in palo alto. She was very friendly and quickly served our large group of 8 people in that cramped space. I got the stracciatella, pistachio, and lychee flavors and all of them hit the spot -- super decadent and tasted as they were supposed to. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area.

One of the best places ever to get Gelato. I have been going to this place and taking my daughter here for years. We just reminisced and had a bit of nostalgia a couple of weeks ago because we hadn't been since she was a teenager. She's in her early 30s now.
