My first time at this VA hospital was in 1985. Seven after being release from active duty. My vision was pretty bad. I was lucky to see about two inches in front of my chin. Now this year I hope to return to the Blind center and update on what is happening for the blind in a seeing world. Then in 1985 they were building making the hospital earthquake proof. New staff and many new friends.

I was seen in the ER, David Webb the Nurse Practitioner was knowledgeable, and genuinely empathetic. Even though I was not feeling well, his energy lit up the room and made me feel cared for.

My annual appointment went well, although the travel arrangements were a bit odd.

The agent cashier doesn’t want to work..very rude. He cursed at me. He put me down. He miss leads veterans. The patient black advocate doesn’t want to work. The guy is very rude. He tries to speak over me. He also is a liar that doesn’t help at all. The admission and eligibility black laidy skip me and helped the guy behind me. She’s rude. Bad laidy. They should fire all 3. I’m Robert Avalos- A real killer for da United States. Update. Yesterday I had A dentist appointment it was Jan 03 2024. I had the honor of meeting the beautiful nurse Leila and the young smart doctor Brian Morioka. Now if you’re looking for good people to promote then promote those 2. I also think you should promote Katie Debus. She is my social worker. These are the 3 nicest people that work for the Va. I’m Robert Avalos- A real killer for Iraq oil.

Excellent, I am grateful for being a veteran and the healthcare we receive.

It's a shame and unhuman the way they train their nurses to threaten and mistreat the dying soldiers. I have a lot of experience with hospice but this is by far the worst place to take your loved one. They will starve them to death and over drug them. If you speak up against their behaiver they take it out on your dying loved one.

I left the ER in a far worse medical condition, doctors were rude. one employee working there said condescending things to me as I was leaving. I would give zero stars if it were an option. I'll be sticking to community based care moving forward, learned that from the experience.

In the ER and they have made me feel like I'm a complete inconvenience. They stuck me in a room with no vitals monitor or nurse call light. I'm here for covid and E.coli and they stuck me in a "private room" next to a storage closet. They didn't hook me up to any machines to monitor vitals or give me a call light for my nurse. I would say they isolated me because of Covid but they didn't seem to care when coming in and out to scan my bracelet nor did they care that I kept wandering out of the roomTo look for water or a dr. There were a lot of times where my husband stood at the door of my room for about 15 mins waiting for someone to walk by and try to get their attention. How is there no one around for 15mins? In an ER? The guy that did my IV was amazing though, I was nervous but he got it first try dmv it was painless. Overall I didn't feel valued as a veteran in the Va hospital. I felt like an inconvenience and burden

It seems odd to post a review of a facility providing hospice care, but at the same time - what could be more important than caring for the dying?I had to confront my image of VA hospitals based on what I have seen in TV and movies. Our experience was anything but that. The care of the hospice team was just humbling. My dad was checked-in with a cancer diagnosis that was clearly going to end his life. That is a scary proposition for patients and family. His end of life care was the most dignified and comfortable outcome we could have wished for. There are no words for the gratitude I have for the VA Hospice Team. As one doctor said, "There are lots of ways our government has not taken great care of our service men and women, but THIS they got right." Amen. Amen.

This is the best healthcare facility in the Bay Area. Yes, it even beats Stanford's clinical approach to healthcare -- not conducive to healing.Despite not having the latest medical tech, they have the most caring staff which is everything to the patients. So happy that our vets have the best facility and clinicians in the Bay.

A credit to the efforts of many others that an institution of this size could be renewed such as it has. The campus being rebuilt was totally appropriate and I'm glad it was.
